As of June 7, 2016 this was rectified with an official English Subbed DVD release. April 2020 then brought an official subtitled Blu-ray release.

** In particular, it's become a popular mainstay of ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars''; its appearance in ''Alpha Gaiden'' helped spur re-examination of the show, and the ''massive'' involvement of the show and characters in ''Super Robot Wars Z'' (straight down to getting the actors to come back into the studio to record an '''irregular''' number of new lines) has been largely due to fan demand.

* CompleteMonster: 'While ''After War Gundam X'' is one of the more [[LighterAndSofter lighthearted]] installments despite being set in a post-apocalyptic world, these two are shockingly vile:
** [[MayorPain Mayor Nomoa Long]], previously [[MadScientist Professor Dorat]], is a former scientist for the Space Revolutionary Army who took part in the destructive war, trying to execute "Operation Lilac", a plan, that would [[FinalSolution wipe out the entire population of Earth]]. He was dumped on Earth by his superiors following the devastating aftermath of the war and began plotting revenge against the United Nations Earth for destroying the colonies. The extremes he goes to in his pursuit of vengeance are downright depraved--his plan was to use the Fort Severn laboratories to create a strong enough Artificial Newtype in order to power up the Patulia, a nightmarish Mobile Armor that is literally PoweredByAForsakenChild: This horror needed a Newtype, who ended up being Artificial Newtype Carris Nautilus, to be used as its power source, and it would slowly and painfully erase the victim's mind, turning him or her into nothing more than one of the Patulia's own components. Willing to destroy all those who have wronged him somehow and all people on earth, Nomoa Long would sacrifice anyone to achieve his vengeance.

In the aftermath of a war that nearly wiped out humanity, Rasso became the leader of the twelve million people living on the colony of Cloud 9. Turning it into a PoliceState, Rasso suppressed all dissent, and preached a philosophy founded on the notion that since Newtypes could only be born in space, the colonists, rather than the people of Earth—called Oldtypes--should control the destiny of the human race. Knowing this to be false, Rasso also kept all information about Newtypes on Earth quiet, while gearing up for another war. Destroying the rebellious colony of Satelicon, including its largely civilian population, with photon torpedoes in order to consolidate his power, Rasso had his [[TheDragon right-hand man]], Nichola, [[BadBoss arrested and summarily executed]] for [[EvilIsNotPacifist suggesting peace talks]] with the New Earth Federation, and tried to use a KillSat to exterminate those humans remaining on Earth. When the show first came out, the whole concept of [[spoiler:"drone weapons controlled by one person to cause mass destruction"]] seemed a little out there, and perhaps contributed to some of the trouble Japanese fans had suspending their disbelief. Come TheNewTens, and all of a sudden the aforementioned seems '''''creepily''''' prescient more than anything, and gives the whole show a lot more teeth in its messages.
