With the Curious Cat DeaderThanDead, someone new needs to fill in their purpose of helping Afterans who lose their way ascend. With Somewhat choosing to help people in any way they can rather than settling into one specific role, they will unintentionally take that missing position. Where the Cat helped ascension by giving those with broken hearts a piece of their own heart, Somewhat will help those who lose their way in a mundane fashion by helping to solve their problems as a hero, easing their burdens so they can find their way to ascend.

Having heard the whole story from RWBY, the Cat knows the Relic of Knowledge can tell it the answer to those questions. There's nothing to suggest that the Curious Cat can age or die, so it can certainly wait long enough for Jinn to be able to answer its questions.
