[[WMG: Headmaster Theodore will not betray the heroes. But someone else in Shade will]]
Hopefully Theodore will not end up like Headmaster Lionheart or General Ironwood, and will stay on Team RWBY's side against Salem and Cinder. At the same time, perhaps someone else in Shade Academy could betray the team instead and maybe (like Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury) is posting as a student or teacher
in the school.

Now that we know Cinder’s been controlling the match-ups and the arena for each round, it’s clear that she’s been skewing the fights in a certain team’s favor. (Weiss having Ice, Nora having Electricity.) Considering how much Cinder seems to know about the people around her, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think she would have knowledge of Neptune’s fear of water, and she gave NDGO an edge on top of that by giving them the Desert biome. (“Alright, home-field advantage!”) With all this in mind, it seems like Cinder intended for Team NDGO to be the victor, but Team SSSN ended up winning against the odds. This may lead to them becoming [[SpannerInTheWorks Spanners in the Works.]]

There has to be a reason why its broken, as well as specifically mentioning that Dust doesn't work in space. Maybe our heroes will be flung from Remnant to the Moon somehow, forcing them to ditch their dust-based equipment and abilities, leading to a very basic and primal final battle to contrast the rest of the [[RuleOfCool series]]. It'll be like the finale of most [[Franchise/MetalGear MGS]] games, which ditch the fancy guns and whatnot to have a FisticuffsBoss instead.

It’s not just a coincidence that Ozpin’s personality just HAPPENED to end up in a boy close to Ruby’s age (at least from the writer’s standpoint). Oscar is going to go through an IdentityCrisis with everyone seeing him as Ozpin and his refusal to fully submit to the identity. Ruby will be the only one to reassure Oscar that he’s not Ozpin, he’s Oscar Pine, and it will not be unlike Ruby seeing past Penny’s robotics to know she has a soul. This will cause Oscar to fall in love with her “simple and honest soul” which will drive Salem to hunt Ruby to destroy his “faith” in humanity and leave her age-old enemy broken.

The Hero is definition-only as per TRS.

So ultimately, we have Cinder's group who want to pull off [[ThePlan 3 objectives]]; stealing the relic, killing Qrow and Cinder's personal vendetta against Ruby which might screw them over. It’s likely that second objective is just part of Raven's gambit to keep them busy so she can screw them over on their first objective and Cinder is [[TheoryOfNarrativeCausality almost certainly going to come into conflict with Ruby]] during all of this as well. All of this hinges on the attack on Qrow's group being successful, but Qrow and Ozpin are already on their guard and suspect something is up, and the White Fang attack, whilst initially used to cover up the real objective, will itself be thwarted by the Menagerie Faunus counter attack, allowing the main characters to not have to split their focus on trying to save Haven OR the relic, and instead safeguard the relic itself. At some point in all the confusion Raven [[TheReveal pulls out her trump card]] and reveals herself to be the real Spring Maiden, snatches the relic and tries to [[ThinkingUpPortals portal]] her way out, only for Cinder to engage her in a full on Maiden vs Maiden battle. Enter [[TheHero Ruby]], wanting to both protect the relic and get her own revenge on [[HeroKiller Cinder]] for Pyrrha's murder, and seeing the battle erupting around her, with possibly her sister or Blake in danger from Adam's vengeance once again, begins suffering flashbacks to the fall of Beacon and inadvertently [[EleventhHourSuperpower activates her Silver-Eyed powers]] again. She [[MeleeATrois engages the Maidens]] in their battle, being a significant threat to both.

Removing trope misuse; as per TRS, this is an IUEO motive trope where the work acknowledges in some fashion that the villain has a good point about his motive for being a villain without it ever being a justification for him becoming a villain because of it.

Salem would send another Hound (which contains Summer's preserved body) in a GenreSavvy attempt to assassinate an emotionally vulnerable (and unstable) Ruby. This is deliberate on Salem's part, not only to [[BreakTheCutie break Ruby further]], but also wanting to invoke DeathByIrony on her. Ruby's mind would further regress into a powerless, helpless, and scared little girl [[AllAccordingToPlan just as Salem planned]] (and Cinder's words to Ruby near the end of the previous volume [[VillainHasAPoint does make sense]] for good measure), but the real Summer (as a spirit) would snap Ruby out of it, ultimately resulting with her fighting back, and then violently killing the Hound with [[NoholdsBarredBeatdown nothing but her bare hands]]. Her friends (who just arrived) are shocked at the aftermath of the fight and wasted no time comforting her over it.

Has nothing to do with familiarity with in-universe fiction.

[[WMG:The rest of Ozpin’s follower followers will ask why Ozpin keeper Salem’s immortality a secret]]
When Ruby sent the message about Salem’s existence to the public, the rest of Ozpin’s group likely learn that Salem’s immortal, and when they arrive in Vacuo, they will confront Oz who is in Oscar’s body and ask why he didn’t tell them about it.
