* Diana's martial arts instructor in the late 60s-early 70s was initially called Ching, not I Ching. When he introduced himself in WW 179 (November '68) he said "[[AsianSpeekeeEngrish Permit me to introduce self. I *CHING!*]]", that is, I ''am'' Ching. Diana addressed him as Ching in that and later issues, and the narration boxes also had his name as Ching. "I Ching" was probably a mistake by one of the writers. Perhaps they went with it because [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign it sounded more inscrutable]].

* NamesTheSame: In the Perez run, Myndi Mayer refused to let Diana be called "Princess Diana", her proper title, because there was already one at the time. Instead, Myndi gave her her superhero name "Wonder Woman", though Diana herself was ambivalent about the "stage name".

* LyingCreator: In the days leading up to the ComicBook/New52's ''ComicBook/WonderWoman2011'' Creator/BrianAzzarello promised not to change Diana's origin. In the book Diana's traditional origin, in which she has no father and her powers, strength and personality come from her mother and the a society of women explicitly designed to show what they could be separate from the oppression of man is tossed out the window to make her the incestuous daughter of Zeus and his granddaughter Hippolyta, with all of her powers due to her father and not the Amazons and the Amazons themselves certainly not responsible for any of her heroic traits as they're child murdering serial rapists and murderers.

** Complex legal issues resulted in Wonder Woman and her supporting cast being unable to appear in a number of DC television adaptations. For example, she was supposed to appear in "The Call", an episode of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond'', but had to be written out and replaced by Big Barda, and was also the only JLA member to not appear in ''WesternAnimation/StaticShock''. The producers of ''Series/{{Smallville}}'' have similarly said they tried to use her in the show, but were unable to due to legal reasons. Her sidekick, Wonder Girl, was also barred from appearing in the cartoon [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans adaptations]] of ''Comicbook/TeenTitans'' and ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'' (though for the latter, Creator/GregWeisman [[WordOfGod has said]] that the issues were eventually lifted). Wonder Girl finally joined the cast in season 2 of the latter series.
** During her run on [[ComicBook/WonderWoman2006 Volume 3]], Creator/GailSimone was denied permission to use Veronica Cale, a villainess created by Creator/GregRucka for [[ComicBook/WonderWoman1987 Volume 2]]. Rucka later allowed Keith Giffen to use Veronica as a supporting character in his ''Comicbook/DoomPatrol'' run.

* FanNickname:
** Wondy for Diana. Di comes from the original Golden Age comics but doesn't get used much in universe as by fans these days.
** A consistent use of "Cassie" for [[ComicBook/WonderGirl Cassandra Sandsmark]] to differentiate her from the other famous Cassandra from her generation of heroes, [[ComicBook/Batgirl2000 (Batgirl/Black Bat) Cassandra "Cass" Cain-Wayne]].

* AscendedFanon: In continuities where Franchise/WonderWoman does not explicitly not have a father he traditionally remained unnamed and entirely unimportant given she was created specifically as a hero that shows what women can accomplish with the support of other women without the interference of men. Fans speculated for years that he had to be ComicBook/{{Hercules|Unbound}} given that he's the only character Hippolyta consistently has a past with. In ComicBook/TheContest arc of ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1987'' Diana asks her mother if she was conceived during Hippolyta and Hercules' fling before Herc betrayed the Amazons and her mother is upset, but doesn't refute the claim. Creator/GrantMorrison made this canon for the Diana of ''ComicBook/WonderWomanEarthOne'' in 2016.
