** ''Musou Orochi Z'' was supposed to be released outside of Japan, but the plan was scrapped. However the new content, for whatever reason, can be played on the UsefulNotes/PlayStationPortable version of ''Warriors Orochi 2''.

** Fans have been speculating that asides from the poster boys, Zhao Yun and Yukimura, 6 popular characters from ''[=DW=]'' and ''[=SW=]'' would get the Deification forms for ''Warriors Orochi 4''. As expected, Mitsunari, Cao Pi, Guan Yinping, Naotora, Lu Bu and even, Nobunaga were chosen to have Deification forms.
** In relation to popularity, several fans guessed that Lu Xun would be one of the eight characters with deified forms as he is constantly in the top 10 popularity polls of ''Dynasty Warriors''. Though he didn't made it in the final cut, the opening cutscene of ''[=WO4=]'' shows one of the bracelets landing near his location which many suspected that he's intended to be part of the deification. Turns out that they're right; WordOfGod confirmed that he was supposed to have a Deification form but was held back because he's a strategist not a "frontline warrior".
** Fans hoped that Diamondback would be playable for ''[=WO4=]'' after he appeared in the group picture of the game. Koei made some joke out about it on April Fools' Days where he's centralized as the "hero". Then a day before the game's release in Japan, he's finally confirmed to be playable.
** The official trailer actually teases the new playable character, Yang Jian, and the game producer acknowledged that only the Eastern players are able to guess Yang Jian because of the appearance of his dog as one of the new Sacred Treasures. Then, the Sony Playstation page for ''4: Ultimate'' revealed his name which confirms all suspicions.

* PostScriptSeason: {{Zigzagged}} on whether this was deliberate of not - even though ''Warriors Orochi 3'' was touted as the last game in the series, thereby making the Hydra plotline the GrandFinale, ''3: Ultimate'' extended the story by an additional four chapters, introduced a new villain who took center stage following the good ending and provided more back-story on the Mystics.

It helps that his Sacred Treasure is the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi which is used by Izanagi to kill his offspring, Kagu-tsuchi. Then, the real Hades shows up in ''4: Ultimate'', putting the theory dead.
