Moving to Development Heaven and YMMV

* DoingItForTheArt: Despite being rendered in CGI, ''all'' the kaiju move and act like tokusatsu giant monsters, that is, people in rubber suits. The fights themselves are rendered and shot like they're being filmed in a sound stage. This carries over to ''DYNAZENON''.

* IKnewIt:
** Akane being the new Takeshi Todo is this to fans who read the Gridman F draft.
** Some fans were expecting a yuri moment between Rikka and Akane due to past yuri subtext in other TRIGGER shows like ''Anime/KillLaKill'' and ''Franchise/LittleWitchAcademia''. Akira Amemiya [[http://sushiobunny.tumblr.com/post/179301395485/ive-decided-to-make-a-larger-and-more-explanatory sneaking in two characters from his yuri web novella as side characters]] probably helped expectations too. [[spoiler:Episode 8 reveals that Akane hugged Rikka while requesting her to get along with a god (as in Akane herself) with more yuri moments in the finale]].
** Before episode 11 came around, many fans had theorized that [[spoiler:Yuta ''is'' Gridman with amnesia, or at least a fragment of him]]. Some also predicted that [[spoiler:Yuta was possessed by Gridman]], given how ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' works have that as a common twist.

* ScrewedByTheLawyers: The "SSSS" doesn't seem to have a meaning now-- the full name it was supposed to reference apparently has been permanently initialed thanks to the fact that ''Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad'' is owned by Creator/DHXMedia (successor to Creator/DiCEntertainment, the original producers).
** It got its meaning in "[[spoiler:Special Signature to Save a Soul]]".

The guys making the dub are not the "creators", so it doesn't fit. Also, those examples of anime-isms aren't common in previous Trigger works either. It's just random anime stuff that paints the wrong picture about the studio.

* CreatorsOddball: Studio Trigger is one of the most ''anime'' anime studios out there...and then they create '''this'''. Despite being traditionally animated, it has no anime-isms whatsoever. There are no WingdingEyes or helium-voiced "onii-chan no baka!" squeals. The shot composition, editing, and acting all strive to mimic the live-action series it's based on, whether it's a high-octane "man in a rubber suit" fight scene or a simple dramatic dialogue scene.
** This is also the first Portuguese-dubbed title by Trigger which wasn't recorded in Rio de Janeiro unlike [[Franchise/LittleWitchAcademia the first]] [[Anime/DarlingInTheFranxx four]] [[Anime/BNABrandNewAnimal Trigger]] [[Anime/{{promare}} titles]] previously released for that language, recorded in São Paulo instead.

** Some fans were expecting a yuri moment between Rikka and Akane due to past yuri subtext in other TRIGGER shows like ''Anime/KillLaKill'' and ''Franchise/LittleWitchAcademia''. ** The initial summary for the series put out, even on the official website, says "Yuta's friends — Sho Utsumi, Rikka Takarada, and Akane Shinjō — would always help him and spend their days with him. But, their tranquil days are suddenly and easily crushed with the appearance of {{Kaiju}}." In the actual series, Akane is not part of Yuta's main circle of friends and the statement putting her among those who "would always help him" could not be more opposite of [[TheHeavy what her actual role is.]]

** When Akira Amemiya first approached Tsuburaya, he proposed to them to make an Ultraman anime, but Tsuburaya told him Ultraman characters are basically off-limits, while giving him a choice between Gridman or ''Series/AndroMelos''. Imagine if he had given the permission for an Ultraman anime or had chosen Andro Melos instead of Gridman, particularly when an adaptation of the ''{{Manga/Ultraman}}'' manga ran on Netflix in 2019.

** Gridmanime, a portmanteau of ''Gridman'' and Anime. Do the math.
** Borr-chan-kun: The GenderReveal of Borr being a boy leads to this by Japanese fans.
** "Transformers: Gridman"/"Gridformers", due to the heavy ''Transformers''-based {{Shout Out}}s on the show.

* {{Jossed}}:
** There were quite a few fans convinced that the handholding in the opening referred to Rikka and Yuta either before he lost his memories or further down the line of the plot once they've acknowledged their feelings for one another. Turns out it's neither; [[spoiler: it was Akane and Rikka when they have their final heart to heart]].
** Likewise, there were quite a few fans theorizing that one of the last voice dramas to be released for the series expanded on what happened between Yuta and Rikka before the former lost his memories. While Utsumi does ask Rikka about their relationship in 12.12, ultimately the focus of the drama goes to [[spoiler:an IdenticalStranger of Akane moving into the class]].
