* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Earlier versions of the game featured a pair of silly-looking Mega Evolutions that were removed later: Mega Dugtrio (which was formed by a ludicrous number of Diglett) and Mega Golurk (which was basically a Golurk in a [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Gurren Lagann]] cosplay).

* ArtistDisillusionment: The original head developer of Insurgence, thesuzerain, posted multiple times about how working on fangames left him burnt out and disillusioned, due to the fact he was putting in long hours of work without any possibility of remuneration (due to being a fanwork) and still had to deal with people being unpleasant about the game. This led to him losing interest in the project a while before it was completed, but persevered due to wanting to give a sense of closure to the fans who were supportive and understanding and wanted to see the finished game. This left the initial complete version of the game filled with bugs and other issues, that would be fixed later as suzerain stepped down and left the project in the hands of other developers, who plan on reworking the game to remedy these problems and increase the overall quality.
