** This isn't Creator/TaraStrong's first time playing a character that [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans meditates]]. The only difference is, Twilight is trying to calm down in her introductory scene while Raven has to meditate every day to keep her powers at bay.

* PlayingGertrude: Queen Novo is the mother of Princess Skystar despite Uzo Aduba being younger than Kristin Chenoweth. Specifically, the former is born in 1981 while the latter is born in 1968.

** In a blurb about the movie, Entertainment Weekly claimed that Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenowith, Sia, Uzo Aduba, and Zoe Saldana were all voicing "sparkly-maned ponies." Only Blunt and Sia are voicing ponies; Aduba and Chenowith are voicing seaponies [[spoiler: who were formerly hippogriffs]], while Saldana is voicing the harpy pirate Captain Celaeno.

* NoBudget: The budget for the film was around 6.5 million. Yes, you read it right, 6.5 MILLION, a very low budget than most 2D animated films.

* DeletedScene: The original prologue was Twilight Sparkle explaining a little about the four princesses of Equestria and her role as the princess of friendship with stain glass windows of each of the princesses and her's with her friends, before being broken by Tempest, showing her arrival. It was gonna be featured right before the title appeared. One of the movie's effects artists, Michel Gagne, explained it was cut four months before the release, because the "Powers that be" said the film should be trimmed by 3 minutes to fit Lionsgate's wishes.
