* We finally get the backstory of Stumpy and his sisters, and it's incredibly bleak. [[DisappearedDad Their father (who is implied to have been an alcoholic whose behavior scared them all) left them,]] [[StrugglingSingleMother so their mother had to pick up three different jobs just to keep the family afloat.]] Because of this, [[StepfordSmiler the siblings try to stay positive by reminding themselves that even though they live in a poor, broken family, other people have it worse]] so they should be happy with what they have. Stumpy in particular is mentioned to try his best to keep everyone's spirits up by goofing off and trying to make them laugh. If the kids' words are anything to go by, their mother is prone to crying often because of how bad her life is.

* The contrasting emotions between Stumpy's sisters and the others; the girls speak cheerfully as they describe their dysfunctional household, seemingly either seeing nothing off with their lifestyle or DramaticallyMissingThePoint. The other, older, more mature kids and audience of sheep? Kaeloo loses steam as she delves deeper into Stumpy's hectic life and is so broken by all the revelations that Bad Kaeloo has to temporarily take over, Pretty is the first character to start crying once she pieces together what she's just heard, and even Mr. Cat, who was overly eager to get the dirt on Stumpy and his sisters, ends up needing to borrow the tissue box himself once the feels get to him, as the audience bawls their eyes out at TheReveal that TheChewToy of Smileyland had to go through hell that was ''not'' PlayedForLaughs.

* Apparently, [[AlphaBitch Pretty]] is so mean to [[TheWoobie Eugly]] that she refuses to allow her to be in a good mood when she herself isn't, and when Kaeloo asks them to smile for a picture while Pretty is in a bad mood, Pretty flat out threatens to disown Eugly as her sister if she smiles.

[[AC: Episode 226]]
* Kaeloo confirms to both the main four and the audience that if the show were ever to get canceled, the characters wouldn't continue to live their lives offscreen; instead, the end of the show marks the end of the characters' existence altogether.
* The producer nearly decides to cancel the show, and Kaeloo turns to Stumpy, Quack-Quack, and Mr. Cat one last time to say goodbye and tell them that it was an honor to be able to play with the three of them.

Added DiffLines:

* Quack-Quack is clearly depressed by Eugly being PutOnABus, especially when she doesn't answer his phone calls.
* Poucave is initially proud of her articles being published on Mr. Cat's website, but he changes the titles of her articles and their content to be blatantly untrue. Despite her lack of ethics when it comes to other people's boundaries, Poucave is still adamant that the information in her articles has to be true, and when Mr. Cat keeps changing her articles into falsehoods, Poucave is so disillusioned that she nearly decides to give up journalism despite it being her lifelong dream to be a journalist.

* In this episode we finally learn what happened to Eugly: she went to an art school outside of Smileyland. The effects that this hard on Pretty were very hard-hitting; Pretty feels useless and abandoned because her sister chose to go to art school instead of staying by her side.

[[AC: Episode 234]]
* The Rules may be an obnoxious person, but it's hard not to feel bad for her after she falls into depression as a result of the cruel prank that was pulled on her by the other characters. Even they acknowledge that they went too far.

[[AC: Episode 236]]

[[AC: Episode 239]]
* The Rules and her parents' newest idea to torment the residents of Smileyland is to give them all jobs so they don't have time to play games anymore. After they get jobs, everyone is both physically and mentally exhausted and no longer able to be happy, and it gets to the point where Mr. Cat decides that Smileyland is so unlivable that he'd rather move back in with his abusive mother than keep enduring this.

[[AC: Episode 240]]
* Kaeloo, Stumpy, Quack-Quack, and Pretty drive up to Mr. Cat's mother's house to ask him to come back to Smileyland. Kaeloo knocks on the front door and Mr. Cat answers with an utterly exhausted look on his face, and when Kaeloo invites him to come back with her, Mr. Cat drops on his knees and begs her to take him away from his mother.

* Due to operating at SuperSpeed all the time, Vitamine is unable to communicate with the people around her, which makes her feel lonely. Her super speed also ruins her ability to have fun playing games like soccer, because of her quick reaction time making the game too easy and boring.

[[AC: Episode 207]]
* Kaeloo is kicked out of her own game by The Rules, leaving her feeling not only angry, but also hurt and rejected. She attempts to vent to [[TheConfidant Mr. Cat]] about the situation, but he ignores her because he's busy playing chess with Quack-Quack and would like to focus on his game.

[[AC: Episode 208]]
* The Rules threatens to make Kaeloo leave Smileyland if she loses the contest, and Kaeloo's friends straight-up don't care. [[OutOfCharacterMoment Not even Mr. Cat.]]

[[AC: Episode 213]]
* Mr. Cat finally works up the courage to visit the therapist's office, though he chickens out at the last moment. Kaeloo sees him here and makes her own assumptions as to why he is in therapy, and the result is Mr. Cat having to sit through a party where Kaeloo, his best friend, spreads a rumor about him that he'd really rather not have floating around.
* Unlike other episodes, where the person who did something wrong is EasilyForgiven by the friend group, this one ends with Kaeloo sitting alone outside the party, implying that she was kicked out by Mr. Cat and Pretty for her actions. LaserGuidedKarma or not, it's still sad that Kaeloo is not offered the same forgiveness that she offers others.

[[AC: Episode 214]]
* The premise of the episode is that Stumpy is weirded out by his little sister, Lavanade, who has supernatural powers. And as a result, every time Lavanade uses her powers [[PowerIncontinence (some of which are beyond her control)]], Stumpy complains that she's "weird" and that he wishes she was normal. Lavanade, who is a very caring person, repeatedly apologizes to Stumpy for making him uncomfortable.
* Quack-Quack is also hurt by Stumpy's words, because he has superpowers too, and every time Stumpy insults Lavanade, Quack-Quack feels like he's being insulted by extension. Things get even worse when Stumpy asks Quack-Quack to teach Lavanade how to control her powers, and Quack-Quack does so by explaining how to use them to do cool tricks. Stumpy angrily tells Quack-Quack that by "control her powers" he meant teaching her to be "normal", and complains that Quack-Quack is turning Lavanade into a "circus freak". Quack-Quack's reaction to this is a mix of anger, shock, and horror.
* Lavanade blames herself for the fight between Stumpy and Quack-Quack and starts crying about how [[ItsAllMyFault it's all her fault]].

[[AC: Episode 221]]
* Kaeloo is so upset by losing the contest to Stumpy that she almost cries.

[[AC: Episode 224]]
* Stumpy becomes so focused on his new business venture that he completely neglects Ardoise despite taking her help for everything, leaving Ardoise feeling hurt.

[[AC: Episode 225]]
* The episode centers around Mr. Cat struggling to cope with all the CharacterDevelopment that he and his friends have gone through since the start of the series, because he feels like he's losing the comfort of familiarity and the stability associated with it. The level of panic and distress that he feels about the changes is so bad that he ''actually starts crying''.

* Mr. Cat reflects on the way his trauma has shaped his personality. He acknowledges that becoming a kinder person would most likely help him be happier, but worries that if he were to pull a HeelFaceTurn, not only would he lose his identity, but people would take advantage of him and hurt him.
* Mr. Cat reveals that his DarkAndTroubledPast put him in difficult situations all alone with nobody to help and guide him through them. He explains that the cause of his adult-like behavior is that he never had the chance to truly experience childhood because he was too busy trying to stay alive despite his circumstances, and says sadly that he wishes he could be more carefree and easygoing like Kaeloo, Stumpy, and Quack-Quack.

Planning to make it a disambig for Laugh Track and Series.Canned Laughter.

* The CannedLaughter in the cast's fake sitcom keeps playing whenever Stumpy does anything at all, unless he's actually trying to be funny, in which case they don't. For example, the beginning features a scene where the characters open the door, say hello and then run across the sofas in a comical manner, with the laugh track playing each time they run. When Stumpy's turn arrives, he walks in through the door, and before he even does anything, the laugh track plays while he stares with a hurt expression on his face.
