** In chapter 50, whilst showing Sprig and Amara the internet, Luz and Anne encounter a Cynthia's coven fanfiction titled Loyalty Among Covens by [=CaptainCT5=], the quartet criticise the fanfiction for simply just being a lazy re-telling of Cynthia's coven but with [=CaptainCT5=] slapped on as are the screenshot edits as well as the fact that [=CaptainCT5=] made a self insert whilst in their late 20s and shipped them with Cynthia who is 13 years old. Anyone well versed in the Amphibia fandom can immediately tell this is a jab at Fanfic/LoyaltyAmongWorlds by [=AdmiralDT8=], a fanfiction notorious in the Amphibia fandom for being a lazy rewrite of Amphibia with his OCs slapped on as well as shipping himself with Anne Boonchuy whom is 13 years old whilst [=AdmiralDT8=] is in his late 20s.

** Chapter 13 is littered with ones to ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'', culminating in Eobard Thawne commenting on how, in the future, the movies were banned in France and the books burned en masse in the United States.

* ''Fanfic/BleachFanWorks'' has quite a few of the less intelligent in-story reviewers be fans of ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'', and liking the poorly written [[ShowWithinAShow Fanfics]] because they remind them of Twilight, even when they're not that similar to it (although it often says more about the reviewers' intelligence). On the flip side, some of the in-story reviewers bring up a resemblance to ''Twilight'' as a point against the fics they review.

* In ''Fanfic/DaughterOfDarkness'', even Alucard's hypnosis can't make someone praise ''Literature/{{Twilight}}''.

* In ''Fanfic/{{Reconciliation}}'', [[OriginalCharacter Sho]] talks about the perks of his job as the publicist for Hanako, a successful novelist, resulting in a TakeThat at ''Literature/{{Twilight}}''.

** The wedding from Literature/{{Twilight}} is the one massacred by the zombies from [[Music/AvengedSevenfold A Little Piece of Heaven]].

* A notable subversion occurs in Ultimate Sleepwalker's sister series ''[[Fanfic/UltimateSpiderWoman Ultimate Spider-Woman: Change With The Light]]''. Mary Jane Watson loves the ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' novels and reads them regularly, but this is ''not'' used as a TakeThat against the Stephanie Meyer series. The depiction of the ''Twilight'' novels is entirely neutral, mentioned in passing a few times, and otherwise ignored.

** The Book 1 prologue has Eda make one to ''{{Literature/Twilight}}'', stating every vampire and werewolf in the Isles would stake her if she tried to sell one of those books.

** Blake uses the alias Bella in high school, only for her classmates to laugh at her for having the same name as the main character of ''Literature/{{Twilight}}''. Blake is annoyed as she doesn't like Twilight either. Later, Weiss says it is a piece of shit.

* In ''Fanfic/KeepersOfTheElements'', the author makes jabs at ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' and Music/RebeccaBlack more than once. She also has one that takes a jab at the show ''Series/JonAndKatePlusEight''.

* ''Fanfic/{{Luminosity}}'': Edward and [[AlternateUniverseFic rational]]!Bella discusses what to name their child. They want to root her to the family since she's going to be so rare a species that she may only see someone else like her once. The obvious way to do so is to combine Bella and Edward's mothers' names, but they decide that [[Literature/{{Twilight}} any combination of Renée and Esme]] sounds like a Franchise/{{Pokemon}}.

* ''Fanfic/AllAmericanGirl'' briefly mentions an in-universe movie called ''The Converters'' directed by a misanthropic pony named Catseye. To add further insult, the film is depicted as a common propaganda film for the Purehooves (a pro-Equestriani/anti-human hate group).

** The sequel adds [[Film/TheRoom Tommy Wiseau]] to the list of people that have had Take Thats in the ''Mass Vexations'' universe.

** As did ''Fanfic/RainboomsAndRoyalty'''s sequel ''[[http://www.fimfiction.net/story/68962/1/hot-heads-cold-hearts-and-nerves-of-steel/chapter-1 Hot Heads, Cold Hearts, and Nerves Of Steel]]'', (yes, it's a LongTitle) when the bushwoolies mention that they wanted to bake Pip, Alula, and Dinky into pastries. Pinkie's reaction borders on BerserkButton-pressingly angry, adding the double-whammy as Pinkie Pie was the antagonist of the ''Cupcakes'' story:

* [[Fanfic/AftermathOfTheGames Integration]]: Sunset, both Twilights, and Dog Spike all react to disgust and horror seeing [[RuleThirtyFour fan art of Daydream Shimmer and Midnight Sparkle doing things to each other.]] Sunset also complained earlier that despite humans having every computer in the world connected the majority of people just use it to complain about tv shows, a certain example being not liking the newborn (an obvious take on the recent RealLife fan reaction to the birth of Shining and Cadence's daughter Flurry Heart).

* ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/22550647 Funhouse Mirror]]'' is one long shot at the [[RonTheDeathEater demonisation]] Alya often receives in [[AccusationFic "salt]] [[RevengeFic fics"]]. In it, Alya meets an alternate version of herself who is a stupid, meanspirited, and entitled shrew and is greatly appalled by her, afterward telling Nino to slap some sense into her if she ever starts acting like the other Alya. To further drive the point home, the author says that everything Other!Alya did was based on actual salt fics they'd read.

* ''Fanfic/FamilyGuyFanon'':

* ''Recap/DiaryOfAnAnalog'', a FixFic for ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'', has the revelation of Phoenixmon's existence as discovered by Izzy sampling Biyomon's DDNA to some ancient texts he found. While the texts referred to it as Hououmon, the ability from which to rise from the ashes it displayed was more of a Western idea, so the group called it Phoenixmon to reflect that. It's easy to miss, but it's a potshot aimed directly at ''Film/Mulan2020'', which depicted a Chinese Phoenix but referred to its lore as being identical to the Western Phoenix even the whole rising from the ashes bit was exclusive to the Western Phoenix.

** In Lavaridge Town, Benedict brings up ''Franchise/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' but tells Kidd to skip [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean the sixth part]].

* [[LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero Louise]] hates the imperial system of measurement in ''[[https://www.Fanfiction.net/s/8753582/5/Overlady Overlady]]'' and declares that having 1,760 yards to a mile is stupid compared to much simpler 1,000 meters to a kilometer. Any system that requires memorizing such random numbers is ridiculous.

* In Chapter 6 of ''Fanfic/ASpecialKindOfMagic'', Naofumi explicitly calls ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' trash after seeing that Raphtalia was watching it, before going off on a list of better anime to watch. Ren's reaction to being called Kirito indicates that SAO is considered terrible ''across universes''.

WordOfGod is that this is meant to be a statement against unnecessary {{Shipping}} making stories more complicated than they need to be.

* ''[[Fanfic/TheUltimateEvil The Stronger Evil]]'': The author closes the eleventh chapter with a line borrowed from ''Film/TheMummy1999''[[note]]"We are in ''very'' serious trouble…"[[/note]] to give their opinion about how much [[Film/TheMummy2017 the 2017 reboot]] pales in comparison.

* In ''[[https://www.Fanfiction.net/s/8935062/1/Shards-To-A-Whole Shards To A Whole]]'', when Tony and Ziva officially [[TheyDo get together]], Tony asks Tim (who enjoys an active if [[CasualKink mildly kinky]] sex life with Abby) for advice when Ziva mentions that she is interested in "ropes and things". When Tony mentions "this book they're making into a movie soon," Tim immediately replies, "No, don't go reading ''Literature/FiftyShadesOfGrey''," saying that he and Abby read it and found it unintentionally hilarious but not even remotely sexy.

* ''Fanfic/PeterParkerNeedsAHug'': Red Robin won't start a patrol without coffee...unless it's from Starbucks.
