* TheTriadsandtheTongs: While outside Haven City and Japan, there are plenty of Triad members and Roleplays that take place mostly in Hong Kong.

* Gangsterland: Whether it be the Yakuza of Japan or the Triads of China, there are many gangsters and gangs in this city to be found.

* AbsurdlyYouthfulFather: Seo and Taka are this, although it applies more to Taka since Seo is still very young.
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Heian is a very youthful, but an exceptionally brilliant child whose absurdly high intellect and exceedingly learned/pampered nature comes with a large doses of naiveté and of purity, given that he is only just beginning his puberty - being fourteen years old. He seems rather deep/profound most of the times you'd find him to be, but he has many moments where his innocence take back his more adult colleagues that he's still just a kid.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Due to so many personalities, and views many girls like bad-boys or the "mysterious" types.

* BadassPreacher: Roselyn. Justified, as she's an [[RogueAgent ex-CIA assassin]].
* BadAssInANiceSuit: David Galloway has to always dress his best even when he is fighting baddies.
* BadassBookworm: Wilhelm Ryley manages to be both this and a GeniusBruiser. In his normal form, he looks like your average joe in a lab coat, but is able to make use of both martial arts and melee combat. In his transformed state, he's ''huge'', but still retains all of his medical and bio-engineering skills.
* TheBard: Sun "Aya" Chen-Song, who is also a professional flautist and highly skilled with musical interpretation.
* BattleButler: Rihito Mizushima, used to be this and still shows traits of it.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Eudaemons grant wishes, but they're overzealous with how they grant them.
* BelligerentSexualTension: Kohei and Yukina have this.
* BespectacledBastardBoyfriend: Matsushita Nobouru.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: It is not wise to make Seo-Yun angry. Just a warning.
* BiTheWay: Tyler Dragovic is this, though he tries to hide it. Considering he can't make up his mind on if he wishes to be with the man/woman of his dreams. He is just as confused about this subject as his [[ShrugOfGod author is]].

* BigEater: Kyoufu is known to be capable of eating almost anything, even foods that seemingly aren't "foods" that most would consider eating which may have something to do with the energy needed to sustain her powers.
* BlackMagicianGirl: Many "magically adept" females have this qualification, whether controlling the elements or having abilities due to some type of tool/weapon.
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: Dave is a cynical demon hunter that has fallen head over heals for Ivalia, an angelic former US Marine who has forgotten the ways of the warrior and became the picturesque example of pure innocence after having passed through the door.

* CombatTentacles: Jacob has them, though they're implied to have... other uses too.
* CrushBlush: Considering this place has a lot of relationships, seeing a few of these isn't too few or far between in terms of romances or potential couples. One example is David Galloway and Ivalia Barrington's own relationship, this happens anytime the former tries to make a romantic advance towards Ivalia, of which she denies it with a spot of red on her cheeks.
* CursedWithAwesome: Due to a curse by a undersea witch, Della gained the ability to walk on land. She cannot gain her fins back until she completes a certain task the witch has sent her to accomplish.
* CuteClumsyGirl: Sun "Aya" Chen-Song, she is often very scatter-brained and seems to have two left feet, and though some find it cute, others find it annoying.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Della the Mermaid.

* DealWithTheDevil: Jacob doesn't know who the [[EldritchAbomination Dwellers]] are or what they want from him, but he's pretty sure his powers weren't given out of the kindness of their hearts.
* DeathByChildbirth: Subverted, Tomoko, Seo's wife, died four years after she gave birth to their daughter. She was born weak and her pregnancy only made her body even weaker until her death. Played straight with Takatsuki's wife, Sayoko, who died giving birth to their daughter, Ame, and sent Taka into the pit of despair that brought him to Nurikabe.
* DespairEventHorizon: What brought Jacob to Nurikabe (or Nurikabe to Jacob?). Even after entering the mansion, Jacob is still hovering dangerously close to this.
* DismissingACompliment: Usually done with Ivalia Barrington towards David Galloway, though really she's...
* TheDitz: Saga Nishikawa, her first scenario in Haven City involved her '''GETTING STUCK IN A FENCE''' to try to take pictures of different sites in the city.
** Sun "Aya" Chen-Song also counts as this to some degree.
* DotingParent: Seo really does love her daughter yet it can get irritating for other people to hear.
* DreamStealer: Also eats dreams to sustain itself, usually having a penchant for the young (as they seemingly produce the most delicious and most imaginative dreams), of which he usually takes said dreams from.
* DreamWalker: Yumekui-ko is a dreamwalker, being capable of moving through dreams as long as people sleep. He can [[{{Shapeshifting}} change into any form]] in the dream world though likes to become children.
* DrivenToSuicide: The pressures of everyday life can lead to an escape through The Door. Shown in Hibiki's arrival.
* DysfunctionalFamily: Though not outright abusive or violent towards one another, Nishikawa Saga and Aozora Reno have this to PlayedForLaughs territory. Their families range from a frog, a crossdressing uncle to a cleptomaniac grandfather and a mother convinced she is a "Prince" character!
* DysfunctionJunction: Many members fall under this but especially people like Shoutarou Katayanagi whom became a janitor after escaping his old gang. That guy has had it rough!
* EatingTheEyeCandy: Holding back her true feelings, and likes his approving responses, but is afraid to admit such a thing. The same can be said of David who likes that she's playing hard to get.
* ElementalPowers: Being a super-power city, a great deal of the inhabitants have these powers. Della seems to have a great deal of characteristics similar to [[Disney/TheLittleMermaid Ariel]].
* EthnicMagician: Tia Woodbury, who has both Spanish & African roots.
* FirstLove: Lots of shipping means lot of romance! Look at cute little Yukina and Kohei!
* FountainOfYouth: Sho Wakahisa is this when he turned from a 28 years old to an 11 years old just to relive his life.
* FortuneTeller: Tia Woodbury can perform such feats as telling you what may happen in the near future, in tid-bits at least. She can't however tell you when or fully how, and takes inference from places and "times" (night, day, mid-day, etc...). When doing this for too long she tends to get headaches or feel dizzy as the process is exhausting.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The main cast of 11th Hour Heroics.
** Suwa Masaru is the Sanguine.
** Taisha Aya is the Choleric.
** Nishikido Airi is the Melancholic.
** Shindou Ame is the Phlegmatic.

She also has a very exotic look and feel to her character, having Spanish roots and a penchant for the supernatural. She also stole her husbands most precious belongings (money, car, etc...) and ran off to Haven.
* IllGirl: Nishikawa Saga, she has had constant surgeries and heart transplants since birth thanks to a blood deficiency. She constantly takes pills in order to keep said illness in check and instead showcases a great deal of [[ThePollyanna merriment in routine life]] to not worry others.
* ISeeDeadPeople: Tiane Woodbury has the ability to see and interact with spirits as one of her abilities before she even understood her [[BlackMagicianGirl abilities]].
* InterspeciesRomance: Masaru looks human, but he is actually one of the Eudaemons; monsters who were born from seeds to fulfil humans' wishes. While outside of her healing power, Ame is a normal human. Inevitably, their romantic relationship is this.
* ItsAWonderfulPlot: Inverted with Alicia. Alicia didn't exist in the main timeline, only a 'what if' timeline if her mother hadn't died before she was conceived. Alicia's father, being a wizard, decided to [[AWizardDidIt use magic to bring her into existence anyways]]. To Alicia, who still has memories of the [[AlternateTimeline theoretical timeline]] she existed in, it seems like she's stuck in one of these.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk:
** Axel Grayson is this to a T.
** [[JerkAss Liam]] [[BloodKnight Anderson]] might possibly give even Axel a run for his money in this department.
* JustifiedCriminal: Subverted in Jacob's case. He might have entered the assassination business out of necessity , but he doesn't really give a damn about the lives he's taken.
* KidDetective: Shuhei falls under this category. Which go a lot better if he wasn't a [[LaboriousLaziness lazy]] [[BrilliantButLazy genius]]
* KidHero: Masaru is a young kid fighting [[MonsterOfTheWeek Monsters]] that is actually one of them.
* LadykillerInLove: David, though Ivalia plays hard to get he tries to woo her with his sense of mysteriousness, though it seems to be failing... or is it?
* LastNameBasis: Situation in Japan it's common for members to use the last name primarily.
* LazyArtist: Axel sometimes tries to be this, when he's not being a jerk. (or while)
* LongRangeFighter: Jacob is an assassin. Getting too close is usually not a good idea for those kind of people. [[InstantArmor Don't underestimate him at close range, though.]]
* LoveHurts: Ayane and Taka's relationship is.. complex! Taking place mostly in the past! This is one to follow.
* LoveAtFirstNote: Hibiki who was so entranced with Alisa Donovaine's violin music, that he considered her beautiful just from said sounds which after seeing her only lured him into liking her even more.
* LoveAtFirstSight: A few potential relationships begin as this.
* MagicalFlautist: She also has the ability to use her songs as powers in a myriad of ways from, raising personal physical abilities (of others) to invoking "peace" in non-peaceful scenarios. She usually has to focus on the song itself however, and thanks to this she is in a more supportive role in combat.
* MagicKnight: Even before she gained Lucy's strength, Morgan mostly used her sorcery as an aid to physical attacks.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: Masaru is a Eudaemon, Ame is human. It's.. a bit complicated between them!
* MysteriousEmployer: No one has met the owner of Nurikabe. What is his deal and why does he house the outcasts of other places?
* MysteriousWatcher: Who exactly IS John Smith?
* NowThatsUsingYourTeeth: Yumekui-ko has exceptionally strong teeth, strong enough to bite through almost any known substance cleanly. But objects that have magical enchantments, or are made of "special" supernatural materials are much harder to bite depending on either the power of the enchantment or the durability of the object in question.
* NunTooHoly: Zig-zagged with Roselyn, though she's technically a priestess. She tends to be slightly [[NaughtyNuns more sexual]] than might be good with a priestess, but she's also [[MamaBear willing to go to great lengths]] for her flock.
* {{Ojou}}: Elisabeth von Heidelberg was born into an aristrocatic German family and is prim and proper to boot.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: Della's race of mermaids have the unique characteristic that if they are eaten, the one who has eaten them gains age-less immortality. They also have the ability to, while on land, create pure pearls from their tears.
* PapaWolf: Threaten his daughter in any way and Seo will hunt you down until you apologize. The same applies to the people he sees as his children.
* ParalyzingFearOfSexuality: Morgan Evans. In addition to being genderbent, she feels that having certain reactions and feelings while using her sister's old body is [[BrotherSisterIncest borderline incest]], not to mention she feels it would be a defilement of it to use it in such a way.
* PerkyGoth: Ayane Nishikido wears lots of black and dark make up, but she is way too flirty and cheerful to be stereotypical goth.
* PersonalityBloodTypes: Hibiki has mentioned his blood type as AB. Though he does not believe in this trope, his personality seems to fit the blood type associated with it.
* SliceOfLife: The general format of the threads of Haven is a moment in the lives of these characters.* SpaceMaster: Morgan Evans, as her school of choice with sorcery.
* SkeletonKey: Yumekui-ko has the ability to unlock all doors, whether physical or "metaphysical", even the Nurikabe [[PortalDoor door]].
* StreetUrchin: Gauge Schicksal and Shoutaro Katayanagi have this as their background.
* SuperGenderBender: Lucy had SuperStrength, and it came along with her body. That being said, Morgan was already a sorcerer who could go toe to toe with Lucy in a spar before it happened.
* TeacherStudentRomance: Tatsuki and Yume have this forbidden relationship. Not likely to go well for either of them.
* TimeMaster: Alicia's power.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: Murasaki Maya, after a dangerous situation with a certain demon, she almost lost her life in the exchange, and since then can't recall who she is and has forgotten her entire life.
* TrueSight: Yumekui-ko has the ability to see everything, even things that are hidden by means of complex magic. This goes for powers such as invisibility, too.

** RetiredBadass: Despite his age, Ryuusei gave up his "Contender" mantle, because he almost severely injured someone and vowed to never take the mantle again. While said persona, he was undefeated and never lost a battle.

** BadassAdorable: Heian Banri is almost always all elated, he giggles in the most childlike manner and hums to his heart content and is just really damn adorable, very much so. When something pisses him off, gets by his nerve, or ticks him off, he just might give you the very beating of your life that you'd never forget, or even traumatize you, indeed within him lies a most astounding capacity for kicking the baddest of asses. Heian Banri will give you a completely new set of standards to define hurt.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: Heian rarely offers more than a few words, he's always detached and reserved, and is subsequently teased by adults around him for his mixed realist and idealist demeanor and children qualities. Since he's never expressed anger or any other blazing emotions in his life before maybe the time that his thunderous rage explode is his first time dealing with anger. You do not want to tick him off.
* BewareTheHonestOnes: Heian Banri may just be the kindest, and most honest in actions and words; being very straightforward, most idealistic person amongst the entire Haven. And, everybody gets shocked when he keeps fighting off bad guys and saving people for no reward.

* {{Bishonen}}: Most of the male cast are this. Such examples are Jacob Vandenberg, Axel Grey, Takatsuki Shindou, and Hibiki. Heian Banri is the most extreme case In-universe, to the point he'd be considered the very epitome of it, hell he might just be the very poster boy of this trope. Heian is so incredibly attractive/pretty rather, and feminine, that he's more often than not mistaken for a beautiful girl.

* BoxingBattler: Ryuusei Tanaka and his alter ego "[[SecretIdentity Contender/Comet-kun]]" are this.

* TheComicallySerious: Ryuusei, in spades.
* CounterAttack: Ryuusei relies on this in his boxing style to get the most damage out against opponents, especially those larger than he is.
** CrossCounter: Also considered Ryuusei's signature move, usually done without the simultaneous physical exchange.

* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Heian Banri just can't contain his penchant to save people, no matter what. Even if he just met them a moment ago (simply by accident, such as bumping to them or anything else that might sound cliched) and if they were simple stranger, he will go out of his way to help them even though he will gain nothing from it, he's an unbelievably kind person.

* EvenTheGuysWantHim: An impressive amount of his fellow male actor/star (who's pretty much equally good looking themselves) seems to think Heian's really, really hot, they all fawn and grovel before him. There was even one time when Banri walked past the downtown and he was crowded with the entire female population of the downtown at the time, some even fainted at the sight of Banri. As of late, at this point and time, people's desirability of him is at an all time high; he's the truest object of admiration and pure love. But, even then, his appearance would give some people despair, because they'd known that he would only belong to one person in the future. Other people are proud of his looks more than their own, it's to that extent.
* {{Expy}}: Ryuusei/Comet-kun is an expy of [[PunchOut Little Mac]]. Even more-so, he's basically a shorter version of [[HajimeNoIppo Miyata Ichiro]].

* FragileSpeedster: Ryuusei is this.

* HumbleHero: Heian is extremely gifted to unbelievable lengths, but perhaps this is only embellishment of his accomplishments, immensely talented (beyond most of his peers) with humongously massive potential to achieve/be whatever he wants and his future seemingly so great, and decided for already; however, he is both modest and humble about what he can do and is honest about what he cannot do; he understands both his own strengths and weaknesses. He uses his abilities for the good and he uses them for a greater purpose, for himself and for Haven.
* HeroicResolve: A non-fighting example for Ryuusei Tanaka. During a shopping market contest of which Nishikawa Saga won that had to do with collecting as many products as possible in a cart in three minutes. Due to him wishing to see her happy, Ryuusei elected himself as the main cart-pusher in order to see Nishikawa happy, he. Easy at first thanks to Ryuusei's skill and quickness, the cart had busted a wheel and thanks to its great weight and lessened control Ryuusei begun to have trouble with it and thanks to his [[SicklyProdigy inherent frailty]], it seemed that he would lose. However, due to resolving that he wanted to see said happiness more than anything, and with a little help from a boy, he pulled through said event and won.

* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Ryuusei Tanaka, Type B. He often laments his inability to talk to people, he is often alone due to both his size and a tendency to protect his friends when they don't wish for his protection. Thus, due to his [[DudleyDoRightStopsToHelp tendencies]] to want to over help people, he ends up not having any. Because of that he is usually very quiet and calm, usually having a philosophical view on such things.

* InnocentProdigy: Heian has always been way more mature than the rest of his peers, even than those a few years of his own age, he always acts as if preoccupied with more responsibility than others and impulsively takes on more work than most adults usually do - people would say he works too hard. He works very, very hard at the performing, singing and modelling profession he does, and treat all things seriously, but every once in a while he does get to act like boy his age (though he hates being scoffed at, made fun of, etc.)

* LightningBruiser: Heian is this, he's all-around perfection, and balanced.
* MagneticHero: Heian has a natural gift for getting people to want to follow him - born leader/ruler- is what would describe him best, something that he doesn't notice/oblivious to. It's quite a phenomenon, seeing he doesn't even notice the people gathering before him.

* SicklyProdigy: Ryuusei Tanaka. Very skilled at athletics and a very skilled combatant, however he is quite well and if he overexerts himself for too long strains himself quite easily.

* TheStoic: Ryuusei Tanaka, he usually keeps calm and showcases a less than zealous face. He always thinks and rationalizes things instead of talking about them instead. Can also double as TheQuietOne.
** NervesOfSteel: Ryuusei has seen a great deal of pain and suffering from his year of being his alter ego "Contender" and thus has gained an aversion to the quips and banters of prominent threats. This has made him capable of thinking and rationalizing what to do next even when things look grim for himself. Even while "trapped" he isn't truly trapped always looking for a possible means of escape.

* BreakTheCutie: Though Heian Banri isn't exactly broken in a way that would sadden anyone, not apart or anything else that may dismay anyone of us, the whole thing with being brought up in the manner of Spartan military did bring him pretty close to snapping with angst of not being able to grow the same way other children should, and he always laments the constant infighting between power users and people getting hurt around him. Even when everybody says it's the most normal, logical thing to happen, he just doesn't accept that.
* WeakButSkilled: Ryuusei is physically weak due to his height and frailty (thanks to being born pre-maturely), but is a highly skilled athlete and very quick on his feet, as his alter ego he has beaten opponents many times his size with his boxing skill alone.

** BadassAdorable: Heian Banri is all elated, he giggle in the most childlike manner and sing to his heart content and is just really damn adorable. When something pisses him off, he just might give you the very beating of your life, indeed within him lies a most astounding capacity for kicking your ass. Heian Banri will give you a completely new set of standards to define hurt.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: Heian rarely offers more than a few words, and is subsequently teased by adults around him for his idealist demeanour and childish nature. Since he's never expressed anger in his life ever before maybe the time that his thunderous rage explode is his first time dealing with anger. You do not want to tick him off.
* BewareTheHonestOnes: Heian Banri may just be the kindest, most idealistic person amongst the entire Haven. And, everybody gets shocked when he keeps fighting off bad guys and saving people for no reward.

* {{Bishonen}}: Most of the male cast are this. Such examples are Jacob Vandenberg, Axel Grey, Takatsuki Shindou, and Hibiki. Heian Banri is the most extreme case in-universe, hell he might just be the poster boy or the very definition of this trope. Heian is so incredibly pretty and feminine that he's more often than not mistaken for a girl.

* ChronicHeroSyndrome:Heian Banri just can't contain his penchant to save people. Even if he just met them a moment ago and if they were simple stranger, he will go out of his way to help them even though he will gain nothing from it.

* EvenTheGuysWantHim: An impressive amount of his fellow male actor/star seems to think Heian's really, really hot.

* HumbleHero: Heian is extremely gifted to unbelievable lengths, immensely talented with massive potential and his destiny is great; however, he is very humble about what he can do and is honest about what he cannot do. He uses his abilities for good and he uses them for a greater purpose, for himself and for Haven.

* LightningBruiser: Heian is this.
* MagneticHero: Heian has a gift for getting people to want to follow him, something that he doesn't notice/oblivious to.

* BreakTheCutie: Though Heian Banri isn't exactly broken apart, the whole thing with being brought up in the manner of military did bring him pretty close to snapping, and he laments the constant infighting between power users and people getting hurt. Even when everybody says it's the most normal, logical thing to happen.

* AdorablyPrecociouschild: Heian is a very youthful, but a brilliant child whose high intellect and highly learned nature comes with a large doses of naiveté given that he is only just beginning his puberty. He seems rather deep most of the times, but he has moments where his innocence take back his peers that he's still just a kid.
* InnocentProdigy: Heian has always been more mature than the rest of his peers, he always acts as if preoccupied with more responsibility than others and impulsively takes on more work than most adults usually do. He works hard at the performing, singing and modelling profession he does, and treats things seriously, but every once in a while he does get to act like teenager his age (though he hates being scoffed at)
