* TakeAThirdOption: Lisa has to decide whether to accept her award or confess her cheating and lose the school it's badly needed grant. She ultimately confesses. But, it's Skinner and Chalmers (along with Bart, Marge, Homer, and the audience) who have taken the third option: having her confess to Otto in a comptroller mask at a fake ceremony and then sending her out with her parents. The real comptroller then gives the real check to the school at the real ceremony.

I removed the “everyone has standards” example. This was about how everyone was willing to go along with the deception. The conclusion drawn was that everybody (especially Bart) genuine valued education to ensure a better future for the school. I do not believe that was supported by the episode. Bart didn’t even attend class if he could avoid it so there’s no evidence that he really valued education (as opposed to, say, liking the idea of having some nicer gym equipment). Similarly, Skinner chose to spend money on a new fancy score board before fixing up basic maintenance. More significantly though, even if these characters did value education, this trope isn’t simply about caring about something but about having a line the characters will not cross. If the characters refused to do something, because of how much they cared about education, that may be this trope. However, agreeing to work together because you care about something, isn’t this trope.

* EveryoneHasStandards: A very weird example. At first, it is only shown that Bart, Nelson, Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, and Chalmers know about the truth that Lisa cheated on the test. However, it turns out that the entire school body (both the students and teachers) already knew about it (as they were presumably informed by Chalmers and Skinner), but they willingly tagged along with Skinner and Chalmers's plan to get the basic grant money from the school district, presumably out of desperation. Even Bart, who has been in hot water with Skinner and Chalmers for his bad behavior, was involved in it as he fooled Lisa into attending a fake presentation with a fake comptroller in case she would come clean; Skinner even got Bart to use a fake Lisa puppet in order fool the real comptroller in handing the grant money during the real presentation. This comes to show that the school body (especially Bart) genuinely valued education to ensure the school for a better future, despite everything what has happened.

* SpiritualAntithesis: To "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS2E1BartGetsAnF Bart Gets an F]]". That episode saw Bart trying desperately to avoid getting an F on an upcoming test by intense studying. This sees Lisa trying desperately to avoid getting an F on a test she did not study for by cheating. In this same vein, Bart's F would mean he had to repeat the fourth grade, while Lisa's A+++ meant the school would be (unjustly) using it for grant money.

* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: Despite her scrupulous nature, Lisa cheats because she believes that a single bad grade will wreck her future. In a weird way, this trope holds true for the result of that sole incident of cheating, as that one grade wound up bumping up the entire school's GPA and getting them awarded a grant, meaning Lisa has to deal with a barrage of ObliviousGuiltSlinging plus the choice between honesty and what's best for the school and its students (this being Lisa, [[HonorBeforeReason the latter doesn't stand a chance]].)
