* BlatantLies: While introducing "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", Scooter says he promised not to get carried away, and that he'll be very understated. He proceeds to excitedly introduce Elton as "The greatest talent in the history of the universe", followed by imitating the wild gestures Kermit makes when he does the introductions.
* GagEcho: Sam says of Elton that he "dresses like a stolen car." During curtain call, Elton says the same thing of the Muppets, who come out in extravagant costumes while he's in plain clothes.
* HumiliatingWager: Sam says that if Kermit can prove that Mozart wore heels, silk stockings and a powdered wig, not only would he introduce Elton's closing number, he'd also [[ClothesEatingWager eat his hat]]. After Scooter produces a painting of Mozart with that exact outfit, Sam is forced into a similar costume and shoved on stage to introduce Elton, after which Scooter gives Sam a hat to eat.
