Because 1866 and 1911 fashions are oh so similar. Removing review-like comment. Deleting YMMV.

Another classic serial, as the TARDIS lands in 1911 England (conveniently enough, Sarah has just been trying on one of former companion Victoria's old dresses...) and the Doctor gets involved in a plot that wouldn't have been too out of place 20 years later on ''{{Stargate SG-1}}''.

Simply put, a true classic of the genre and of the Hinchcliffe era; ''Series/DoctorWho'' doesn't get much better than this.

It's another RobertHolmes work; teaming up with Lewis Griefer and using a pseudonym, as it wasn't the done thing for your script editor to write an actual story. The dialogue is near perfect, the villains truly memorable and Baker is on fine, fine form.

It's on DVD with plenty of good extras, including a short entailing Sutekh's post-"Pyramids of Mars" career -- with Gabriel Woolfe still providing his voice.

* TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt: The Doctor takes Sarah Jane to an alternative 1980 to show her the effect their non-intervention would have. Basically Earth is a volcanic wilderness.
** An {{homage}} to this scene was planned for "[[Recap/DoctorWhoNSS1E3TheUnquietDead The Unquiet Dead]]", surviving several early drafts before it became clear that it wouldn't flow.

Even supposing it's true, the Recycled Premise tag should go on the work that did the recycling, not the work it was recycled from.

* RecycledPremise: The ''{{Stargate}}'' franchise seems to have taken the whole SufficientlyAdvancedAliens as Egyptian gods thing, and run with it.

--> '''The Doctor'''

Another classic serial, as the TARDIS lands in 1911 England (conveniently enough, Sarah has just been trying on one of former companion Victoria's old dresses...) and the Doctor gets involved in a plot that wouldn't have been too out of place 20 years later on ''StargateSG1''.

Egyptologist Marcus Scarman has been possessed by Sutekh, last survivor of the ancient Osiran race who appeared to the Ancient Egyptians as gods. Sutekh is trapped in an Egyptian pyramid, his prison maintained by a signal from another pyramid on Mars. Sutekh has Scarman build service robots, (badly) disguised as Egyptian mummies, then with their help he builds a rocket to destroy the Martian pyramid. The Doctor destroys the rocket, but falls under Sutekh's control himself and transports Scarman to Mars in the Tardis to disconnect the signal trapping Sutekh.
