Not the deep voice that audiences are more familiar with, mind you, but the high pitched, nasally voice from the first season of the original cartoon!

* ''WesternAnimation/OverTheHedge'' has an enthusiastic, cheerful raccoon named RJ, voiced by Creator/BruceWillis. Also, Creator/WilliamShatner as a possum. With Music/AvrilLavigne as his daughter. One of the latter two takes part in the song over the closing credits. And it's ''not'' Avril.

* Creator/JamesHong, veteran character actor and better known as cheesy, LargeHam villains in various kung fu productions (particularly Lo Pan of ''Film/BigTroubleInLittleChina''), appears in ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda'' instead as the clueless, GeniusDitz noodle-making goose Mr. Ping. Meanwhile, ActionGirl Creator/LucyLiu gets to be the sweet-natured, kindly Viper.

** His roles as the DerangedParkRanger Woody Johnson in ''WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}}'' and the DirtyCop Randall Crawford in ''WesternAnimation/ParadisePD'' -- both of whom are [[SirSwearsALot foul-mouthed]] compared to his other roles.

* ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory2'': Good-natured Creator/KelseyGrammer plays a folksy prospector Stinky Pete - and when he reveals himself as the BigBad, it's quite unexpected. Of course, he'd done the same thing years earlier (and still continues to) as [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Sideshow Bob]] and, to a lesser degree, [[WesternAnimation/RunawayBrain Dr. Frankenollie]] and [[WesternAnimation/TeachersPet Dr. Ivan Krank.]]

* Creator/JKSimmons is known for playing loud, choleric, borderline insane characters ([[Franchise/SpiderMan J Jonah Jameson]], [[VideoGame/{{Portal 2}} Cave Johnson]], to name a few). He also provides the voice of [[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra Tenzin]], who's [[TheMentor about as far from]] [[TheStoic those kinds of characters]] as one can get... [[NotSoStoic Most of the time]].

** Creator/ThomasFWilson, best known for playing {{Jerkass}} supreme [[Film/BackToTheFuture Biff Tannen]], voices the heroic and eccentric AgentMulder Matt Bluestone.

* Creator/JenniferHale is probably best known for playing tomboyish and/or ActionGirl females as the [[WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries Black Cat]], [[VideoGame/UltimateSpiderMan Silver Sable]], [[WesternAnimation/WhereOnEarthIsCarmenSandiego Ivy]], [[WesternAnimation/MightyDucksTheAnimatedSeries Mallory]], [[Franchise/MassEffect Female Commander Shepard]], [[VideoGame/{{Mercenaries}} Jennifer Mui]], [[VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic Bastila Shan]], [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia Sheena Fujibayashi]], [[WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes Ms. Marvel]], and [[VideoGame/{{Bulletstorm}} Trishka Novak]]. So it's a bit of a shock when she voices a character completely unlike that, such as villainous spoiled brat [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls1998 Princess Morebucks]], {{Adorkable}} scientist Emma Emmerich in ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'', or the squeaky-voiced CloudCuckoolander DumbBlonde Madison Spaghettini Papadopoulus of ''WesternAnimation/ClassOf3000''. But the best one that goes against type has to be the fact that she's the current official voice actress for Franchise/DisneyPrincess WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}}.

* Creator/DavidKaufman primarily voices characters who are either {{Adorkable}} or unpopular such as [[WesternAnimation/{{Freakazoid}} Dexter Douglas....]], [[WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries Jimmy Olsen]], [[WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom Danny Fenton]]... oh yeah, and he also seems to be the current voice actor for cocky, hot-headed, hotshot [[VideoGame/UltimateSpiderMan Johnny]] [[WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes Storm]] of the ComicBook/FantasticFour. He's also the JerkJock brother in ''WesternAnimation/TheBuzzOnMaggie''.

* Creator/JackMcBrayer is generally cast as characters that are really nice, sensitive, and wouldn't hurt anybody, let alone doing a bad thing on purpose, such as Wander in ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder''. But there were times that he did those characters, like in ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe'', when he does a mean carnival guy, or in ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'' when he is a [[spoiler: jealous Ghost of Christmas Past]] in the Christmas episode. And then he played [[WesternAnimation/StarTrekLowerDecks Badgey]] who is a psychotic holodeck character who tries to kill his own father, Rutherford.

** On ''WesternAnimation/VampirinaBallerina'' , she voices Edna Peopleson, the nice, but normal mother of Poppy and Edgar.

** A straighter example is Julie, an ''antagonist'' , in ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi'' .

*** Speaking of John Cena, in ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' , he plays Baron Draxum, another villain, a ''main'' villain.

* Creator/JennySlate who usually plays characters who are sarcastic, sassy, or crazy, like [[WesternAnimation/TheLegoBatmanMovie Harley Quinn]] and [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil Pony Head]]. In ''WesternAnimation/MuppetBabies2018'' , she voices Nanny, who's considerably sweeter and more down to earth.

* Creator/JohnDiMaggio, known for his gruff voice and New Jersey accent, as the usually high-pitched [[Characters/BatmanTheJoker Joker]] in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanUnderTheRedHood''. However, upon hearing the performance, most people actually liked it. He also voiced the cold, stoic Duke Togo in ''Manga/Golgo13: Queen Bee'', most of the characters [=DiMaggio=] voices are very loud, quirky, and energetic.

** And Sawada from ''Anime/TekkonKinkreet'' who is one of the most serious characters he's ever voiced, a no-nonsense, asexual detective.

* The late Creator/MaryKayBergman's roles on ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' were this, to the point that they had to credit her under the pseudonym of "Shannen Cassidy" to [[ContractualPurity retain her squeaky-clean reputation.]] Once ''South Park'' became a roaring success, this was dropped and the female characters became Bergman's most famous role, even appearing on her tombstone.

** Creator/HannaBarbera, famous for their StrictlyFormula cartoon featuring {{talking animal}}s, fantastic adventures and comedy, tried their hand at SliceOfLife shows without anything magic/supernatural/anthropomorphic/etc.: ''WesternAnimation/{{Devlin}}'' (featuring three siblings working in a circus) and ''These are the Days'' (depicting the life of a WidowWoman, her three children and her father at the very start of the 20th century).

* Creator/DebbiDerryberry usually voices children who are good natured or arrogant but whose hearts are in the right place, but in WesternAnimation/FIsForFamily she voices Bridget Fitzsimmons a cruel, foul mouthed, psychopathic little girl.

* Late voice actress Creator/RussiTaylor is best-known for voicing sweet-natured and loveable female and male characters such as WesternAnimation/MinnieMouse, WesternAnimation/StrawberryShortcake, [[WesternAnimation/PeterAndTheMagicEgg Lollychop]] [[SweetSheep the sheep]], and [[WesternAnimation/KissyFur Beehonie]]. One of her very few villanious roles she did during her lifetime was voicing [[CatsAreMean Duchess the cat]] in the 1995 live-action film ''Film/{{Babe}}'', Weathermeister in ''WesternAnimation/BikerMiceFromMars'', and [[WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}} Drizella Tremaine]] in ''WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIDreamsComeTrue'' and ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep''.

* Creator/CreeSummer is famous for voicing young (and [[SassyBlackWoman sassy]]) African-American women, in most animated cartoons (''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'', ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}''/''WesternAnimation/AllGrownUp'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Histeria}}'', etc.), but the first few characters she ever voiced were actually Caucasian women, such as Penny from ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'' and Elmyra Duff from ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' (her father is white). However, recently, Cree decided to go both ways and as a result, some of the later characters she actually voiced appear to be [[DarkSkinnedBlond dark-skinned women]] with white hair and blue eyes (''WesternAnimation/AtlantisTheLostEmpire'').

* Creator/PeterCullen usually voices good guys who are "large and in charge" and you don't get any larger than [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers Optimus Prime]] with the pseudo Creator/JohnWayne voice. He has, however, voiced good guys who are more elder mentor than action guys. The perpetually worried father figure [[Anime/{{Voltron}} Coran]], as well as the dignified kingly voice of King Alfor's ghost from that same series. But the most shocking role so far is his voice for Jake Kong Jr's overweight, clumsy, dorky, comic relief partner Eddie Spencer Jr. in ''WesternAnimation/FilmationsGhostbusters''. But, perhaps to make up for it, that show did have Mr. Cullen voice a memorable guest star, Jessica's ex-soldier uncle, John Guardian, who in addition to having a [[AwesomeMcCoolName Badass Name]], kicked some serious ass in the episode "The Looking Glass Warrior".

* Creator/GreyDeLisle usually specializes in voicing nasty, unsympathetic teen girls such as [[GrumpyBear Mandy]] in ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'', [[BabysitterFromHell Vicky]] in ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'', and the [[DiabolicalMastermind downright diabolical Azula]] in ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender''. In ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'', however, she voices Frankie, an essentially caring and good-natured caretaker, and Goo, a friendly (if overtalkative) youngster. More recently, she's given her voice to Doc Holiday from ''WesternAnimation/GeneratorRex'', a caring and friendly scientist who's a surrogate mother to the protagonist.

* Creator/JackMcBrayer is generally cast as characters that are really nice, sensitive, and wouldn't hurt anybody, let alone doing a bad thing on purpose, such as Wander in ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder''.
