Consistent with his original characterization and therefore not an example of this trope.

* Ever since ''[=~Dissidia: Final Fantasy~=]'' portrayed [[FinalFantasyVIII Squall]] looking after [[FinalFantasyV Bartz]] and [[FinalFantasyIX Zidane]] while they got in troubles, he has gained a reputation as the TeamMom, which ended up making around half or more of his characterization in FanArt, [[CharacterExaggeration exaggerating that trait]] either JustForFun or because they find it SickeninglySweet.
** Squall has shown shades of this in other incarnations, in particular his defense of Zell and later the entire Garden in ''FinalFantasyVIII'', and his Leon characterization in the ''KingdomHearts'' series. It wasn't until ''Dissidia'' that the idea really got popular, so this may also be a case of OlderThanTheyThink.

** Try the series in general. You put in a couple of short (~20 seconds) and entirely optional sex scenes in the first game, and suddenly it's the focus of the whole series, [[CriticalResearchFailure or so Fox News insisted]]. It's very rare where an article or discussion about Mass Effect or Bioware ''doesn't'' make reference to sex.

Cid\'s no basis for comparison, because while Cid leaves the party, he\'s always on Cecil\'s side.

*** Kain gets {{Brainwashed}} ''once'', with a period between the Tower of Zot and Sealed Cave where Golbez loses the signal and has to retune it. Somehow that apparently translates into HeelFaceRevolvingDoor even though he only leaves and rejoins ''twice''. (To put it in perspective, ''Cid'' joins and leaves more often.)

YMMV doesn\'t work that way.

** YMMV applies greatly here. Kingdom Hearts is not known for zippers. It's more like only Kairi and Donald that follow this trope, since they was really the only ones who had outfits that had zippers that were not in conventional areas.
** I direct you to the trope picture of TooManyBelts. That is not Kingdom Hearts, but still Tetsuya Nomura's art. In general, he just likes zippers and belts. It's a sort of RuleOfCool thing.

Raping TWO monsters in one game isn\'t exactly something to take lightly.

* ''SilentHill'' 2's Pyramid Head is shown to be raping a fellow monster once, forcing another into an oral sex position (he may have just been breaking him in half, [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic or it may have just been symbolic]]) and otherwise just stalks James (albeit in a fairly [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything aggressive]] manner); {{Fanon}} [[MemeticMolester characterizes him as a rapist-murderer]] on par with [[{{Firefly}} the Reavers]].

Then in ''Dissidia 012'', his opening quote to Shantotto, Prishe ''and'' Ultimecia is to ask how old they are, ''and'' he asks the same about Cosmos in a storyline scene.

* Cirno from the ''{{Touhou}}'' series is indeed TheDitz, but ever since she was labeled "(9) Baka" in the 9th game's instruction manual, her stupidity has become her defining trait in fandom. Her other claim to fame is her "Icicle Fall" spellcard on Easy, which has a safe spot directly in front of her. This has led some to believe she is an easy boss, only to find out that on Normal and harder, she still has some pretty nasty attacks, not to mention that "Icicle Fall" on Normal doesn't have that safe spot anymore.

* Speaking of Nintendo, their official magazine in Spain, ''NintendoAccion'' will ''always'' be considered to be extremely biased towards {{Pokemon}}. Yes, during the height of the Pokémon craze they had Pokécovers nearly every month, but that's more WolverinePublicity than actual bias. Same for having an extra mini-magazine focused on Pokémon. Nowadays they don't cover them much more they cover Mario or Zelda games. In fact, if anything they have a ''LegendOfZelda'' bias, with all Zelda games getting huge scores without exception (and ''TheWindWaker'' getting the only perfect score so far), talking about the sagas as if it was super-popular everywhere (even on Japan, where, while not unpopular, [[GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff is not THAT big compared to its Western fandom]]) and claim Link is the best character on all three ''SuperSmashBros'' games (in the first and third, he's currently at the lowest tier of the TierList. On ''Melee'' he's mid-tier), yet nobody accuses them of favoring the Zelda series.
