* NoAntagonist -- The only real source of conflict in ''K-ON!'' is the possibility of the band getting broken up, whether it's because they don't fulfill the requirements to exist as a club, or in the second season, if the girls were to go to different universities. However, they always end up doing the right things to keep themselves together, and nothing bad ''ever'' happens in this show.

** Also out-of-universe, SatomiSato had a main role before and after Ritsu whose character type she plays more often, as in subdued characters like [[HellGirl Yuzuki Mikage]] or [[OreNoImoutoGaKonnaNiKawaiiWakeGaNai Manami Tamura]]. Likewise with her role as Shichijou Aria in ''SeitokaiYakuindomo'', who is now a perverted {{Ojou}}.

* EarnYourHappyEnding -- Quite literally in the case of the four original members of HTT; their love and friendship was so strong that it gave ''all'' four of them the resolve to study hard and ''pass'' the exam to Mugi's prestigious Private University as one, [[{{Tearjerker}} so Afterschool Teatime will be together...]] [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming ...forever.]]

* [[BloodBrothers Blood Sisters]] -- The girls of Afterschool Tea Time eventually form a friendship that's closer than most sisters ''ever'' will be in RealLife, and nowhere is this more evident than the [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming tearful embrace they share in Season 2 Episode 20 ]] and [[spoiler: Episode 22, when their friendship and love gave them the resolve to pass the entrance exam to the '''same''' university, letting them stay together forever.]]

The {{yonkoma}} manga by Kakifly, serialized in the same magazine as ''HidamariSketch'', was turned into an anime by KyotoAnimation in the spring season of 2009. The show proved to be a runaway success, with the [[AnimeThemeSong opening]] and [[EndingTheme ending themes]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G106ZvylNoc topping out at #1 and #2 in the Japanese music charts as well.]] The manga has been licensed for a future English release by Yen Press. The second season, ''K-On!!'' (note the two exclamation points), aired in the spring of 2010 for 26 more episodes. * TheMovie -- Coming in 2011, according to an announcement at the end of the last broadcast episode.

* PinkBishoujoGhetto -- The series was virtually devoid of males until Ritsu's little brother came along, since they attend an all-girls school.

* DarkFic -- The Doujinshi/{{Takotsuboya K-ON Trilogy}}. Quite frankly a HateFic in the way it absolutely rips the warmth and idealism of the original to irrecognizable shreds.

* LesYay -- This show is basically all about a bunch of [[{{GenkiGirl}} energetic]] School Girls that LOVE to hang out with each other and NEVER interact with men. Kind of like the TheOneGuy trope. Minus the guy. Even when it is implied [[spoiler:Sawawa]] is meeting a guy, turns out, [[{{SamusIsAGirl}} it's a girl.]] This could ALMOST qualify for HideYourLesbians...if it all wasn't done [[{{ShipTease}} on purpose.]]
** Rather subtle, but Mio sometimes seems to have a thing for pretty ladies.
*** Let's not forget when Mio [[spoiler:dresses up for New Year's and Yui complements her while holding her hands and Mugi-chan calls it a 'treat already in the New Year's.]]
** Yamanaka-sensei also at times seems ... rather interested in the girls. Especially Mio.
*** More like she likes to force them into cosplay. [[spoiler:They end up liking it (even Mio).]]
** And Mugi, in turn, seems to like Yamanaka-sensei quite a bit.
*** It's not specifically Sawako; she just likes when "two girls bond together" (in her own words). Also, she doesn't disagree with GirlsLove as long as both "express interest".
*** During the second season, Mugi claims to envy the skinship between the other girls. Her solution? [[spoiler:She wants to be hit as well]]. And she also asks for hugs from the girls.
*** The time Mugi spends with Ritsu alone has "date" written all over it.
** After Azusa joins the band, Yui seems to become extremely fond of her and hugs her a lot. It's an affectionate bunch, all right.
*** Yui is just like that, no sexual implications here... [[spoiler:until ep. 12, when she tries to kiss Azusa.]]
** Don't forget that when Azusa looks at their past performance in chapter 10 of volume 2; she even gets a {{Nosebleed}} from Mio's {{Panty Shot}}
** [[{{In-Universe}} The girls]] also seem to get sensual pleasure from Mio and Azusa's {{moe}} responses, so they often try to provoke them.
*** Concerning those two. For Valentine's Day, Azusa thought about giving Mio some chocolate before giving a SuspiciouslySpecificDenial to Ui. Note that in Japan, Valentine's Day is a day reserved for girls to give chocolates to the ''boys'' they like.
**** It's not that uncommon for girls to give their female friends chocolate as well.
**** Not to mention their high school is an all-girls high school, so they wouldn't have any male schoolmates to give chocolates to.
** Ui and Yui may also take their admiration for each other a bit far, especially in the {{Christmas Episode}}. Since it's between sisters it is likely innocent, but that won't stop the [[YuriFan yuri fan boys/girls]].
*** It's mostly sorta one-sided on Ui's part (minus the aforementioned Christmas Episode), but Ui's affection for her sister is nigh constant every time they're in the same scene. Or not even in the same scene in one case. (Season 2 Ep 5. Ui cries simply because Yui is away on a field trip).
*** In episode 2 of the second season when the club acquires ¥500,000 from selling Sawako's guitar, each imagines what they would do with their ¥100,000 share. Yui imagines Ui smacking the bills to Yui's cheek, asking Yui "Does this feel good?" with Yui responding "Harder".
*** Ui's CharacterSong is called..."Lovely Sister LOVE". Hmm...
*** Yui wrote a ''love song'' to her sister called "U & I".
** The StudentCouncilPresident turns out to be very smitten with Mio [[spoiler:and is also the president of her fanclub]].
** The Romeo and Juliet chapter of the manga. Or rather, the Romio and Jurietsu chapter.
** Then there's the chapter where Azusa and Mugi are alone in the clubroom which just dripped with [[strike:{{UST}}]] well... ''some'' kind of tension.
*** However, the anime glosses over this chapter in about five minutes, and doesn't show Mugi taking any further guitar lessons from Azusa.
** Yui and Ui take their affection for Nodoka pretty far at times.
** Jun seems to have a lot of admiration for Mio.
** Mugi hugs Azusa near the end of the manga, who then gets flustered and begins to wonder why Mugi [[SmellsSexy smells so good]].
** At the end of episode 20 (season 2), they zoomed in on hand-holding between Yui and Ritsu.
*** That was probably more about the [[TrueCompanions the bond between the band members as a whole]] than about Yui and Ritsu specifically.
** However, the anime also avoids a lot of the LesYay present in the manga, especially near the final episodes. None of the [[SkinshipGrope Skinship Groping]] involving Mio was adapted, Azusa doesn't get a nosebleed upon seeing Mio's PantyShot, any suggestion of Azusa/Mugi {{shipping}} was [[ShipSinking sunk]], and by skipping the chapters where the girls study for exams, we lose the scenes of Yui, Ui and Nodoka falling asleep together, and Mio getting jealous when she thinks Ritsu has a boyfriend. In the anime, when Azusa cries over the seniors graduating, the speech she makes is directed to the entire band rather than just Yui, who also doesn't hug her after this.
*** For the smallest moment in episode 11, after the OP ends, there's a shot of the tissue box, a crumpled tissue with a bit of dark red on the bottom on the side. Azusa's nosebleed is still implied as something of a MythologyGag.

** While Yui specifically says her parents like to travel a lot, she seems to be the only one with actual abandonment going on. Mugi mentions spending time with her parents all the time, Mio and Azusa talk to their respective off-screen or off-panel mother a few times, and so on. Like ''{{Peanuts}}'', most adults in ''[[{{ptitlei5gydjrz}} K-On!]]'' are apparently HeWhoMustNotBeSeen.
