A Date With Rosie Palms is no longer a trope

** This trope is also done with more disturbing effects: when the Cardinal de Rohan starts, uh, [[ADateWithRosiePalms fantasizing]] about Antoinette, two pages are "stained".

* DoubleStandard: Griffin's actions towards 9 year old Marie are rightly disgusting, but Alain "returning" his affections [[spoiler: as a ghost/hallucination]] to a young adult Marie is romanticized, despite him most likely being in his late teens or early 20s when he first met Marie when she was 6. Him supporting the ideals of the French Revolution by validating Marie's dream when she was younger and trying to open up a school for poor children are other factors.

* CosmicDeadline: While it's subjective to each reader at when this pacing problem began to be apparent, it's clear that by the latter half of Rouge, important events occur every other chapter, rather than the slow build up in the prequel. By the time the story reaches its conclusion, everything after the downfall of Robespierre is summarized, and [[spoiler: Marie is revealed to have died]] several years earlier than the recorded death date that was presented since the very first chapter of Innocent.

* PoliticallyCorrectHistory: In Innocent Rouge, there’s a flashback showing Théroigne de Mericourt declaring that women deserve to be involved in the political sphere, followed by a two-page spread of her getting stripped naked. In real life, Mericourt was attacked and stripped by a group of women because she was allied with the Girondins, and the women were allies of the Jacobins. The manga decides to revise this event by having Mericourt be stripped and mocked by an entire group of men instead, solely because they don’t want women to have rights.
