Making a title for a sequel by sticking the word "new" in front of it. Of course, after a few years it will become HilariousInHindsight. This is especially egregious with a DVD that has a "Never-Before-Seen" episode on it. In a few months, everybody will have seen it, and that's not counting the fact that the writers certainly watched it after finishing it.

* ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBros'' and ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii''. Why they didn't just call them Super Mario Bros. 5 and 6 is anyone's guess.

* In-show example: on the ''Futurama'' episode, "Less Than Zero" (the one where Fry, Leela, and Bender become superheroes), there was a mock opening sequence labelling the trio, ''The New Justice Team''.

* ''[[AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog]]''; this was the name Toon Disney used when airing the comedic Sonic series (though the show was [[BlatantLies otherwise the same]]).

Incidentally, this is why you shouldn't write "new" "recent" or "now" in pages. There are many pages where this was used, and WikiMagic didn't fix it. It's better to write the time period of something new then to say it's new.

When ''NewWarriors'' got relaunched in the middle of this, the joke was that it was going to be called ''New New Warriors''.
