* Used twice in ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansTroubleInTokyo'':
** Some of Beast Boy's Japanese fangirls [[RunningGag that follow him everywhere]] are clad in either ''serafuku'' or blazer uniforms.
** The WiseBeyondHerYears little girl that Stafire befriends [[spoiler:and helps her [[HesBack recover her spunk]] so she can search for Robin and her friends]] is wearing a ''serafuku'' with a blue shirt and black skirt.

* Manga/FutureDiary is a very notable aversion, as no one (except Yuno) is seen wearing a schoool uniform despite being in middle school, and a public one at that. Interestingly, it is very uncommon, but not quite unheard of for secondary schools in Japan to not require uniforms[[note]]Though this usually applies to private high schools[[/note]], especially if the school is wants to promote autonomy and self-expression for students.
* In ''Anime/GirlsUndPanzer'', the girls of Oarai Academy, the only shown high school that does not have a national theme, wear them as their school uniform.

* The sailor fuku worn in ''Literature/MariaWatchesOverUs'' are an interesting variety, in that they have very long skirts and are generally not very flattering. In that, they may actually be [[TruthInTelevision more like the real thing]]. It's also notable in that they appear to be one-piece dresses, as opposed to the typical separate blouse and skirt. There's also a notable scene early on in which Sachiko first meets Yumi while fixing the latter's neckerchief.

* Speaking of ''VideoGame/OneHundredPercentOrangeJuice'', the School Crashers event has the School Uniform cosmetic as a reward for clearing the event. [[VideoGame/FlyingRedBarrel Marc]] (this includes her Pilot version), Aru, Alte, Ceoreparque, Miusaki, Yuuki and Alicianrone get the standard ''serafuku'' kind (though in Alicia's case, hers is black as opposed to white, while Islay's has a longer skirt), while Peat, Mira and the Lone Rider get ''gakuran'' variants, with Rider's making him resemble a delinquent and Mira's carrying over their ScarfOfAsskicking. Islay meanwhile gets a ''sukeban'' variant while Arnelle gets a ''bancho'' one.

* In ''Manga/YuriIsMyJob'', Liebe Girls' Academy, a fictional school portrayed by the characters who work at the salon, has a sailor fuku as its uniform, and Mitsuki and Hime once re-enact the "tie-fixing" scene from ''LightNovel/MariaWatchesOverUs''. While Hime and Kanoko's middle school also has a sailor fuku, their high school has a blazer uniform, while Mitsuki's school has a sailor fuku and Hime and Mitsuki's elementary school apparently didn't have a uniform.

* The sailor fuku worn in ''LightNovel/MariaWatchesOverUs'' are an interesting variety, in that they have very long skirts and are generally not very flattering. With some modifications to the top and adding a skirt, he produces a sailor fuku replica and sets about convincing Siesta to wear it to her bemusement. It ends up making the rounds at the school as different girls try it out.

* The school uniforms that [[https://imgur.com/a/nMBv1 Saki and her friends]] of both genders wear in ''Literature/FromTheNewWorld'' are definitely based on the ''fuku''.

** The third part of the manga (''Stardust Crusaders'') has two characters, TheHero Jotaro Kujo and his former-opponent-later-ally Noriaki Kakyoin, who wear either a {{custom uniform}} that resembles the ''gakuran'' (Jotaro, whose BadassLongcoat + NiceHat ensemble looks like one) or a 100% genuine one (Kakyoin, who even ''sunbathes'' in it). Yamabuki is a rather curious case since the male students wear ''white'' gakurans, but the girls wear an odd all-white blouse/skirt combo that looks like a tennis outfit. Yan-chan, a female Sempai, Info-chan and non-rival students wear theirs normally, but the highschool-aged rivals have customized ones: Osana, Amai, Kizana and Megami wear ZettaiRyouiki (and Megami adds long gloves), Ouka has [[ProperTightsWithASkirt black tights]], Osoro adds an JapaneseDelinquents-like coat, etc.

* ''VideoGame/{{Neptunia}}'': Nepgear wears a dress variant of this as her default outfit in most games. In addition to that, she, Uni, Dengekikko and Famitsu also wear them in ''VideoGame/MegaTagmensionBlancPlusNeptuneVsZombies'', due to the setting being set in a HighSchoolAu.

* ''VideoGame/{{SORA}}'': From stage 2 onwards, after defecting from the military, the titular protagonist swaps her uniform out for a noticeably sci-fi-ish variant of this as her default outfit, featuring what appears to be red TronLines on the collar and a dongle in place of a tie that, judging by the art for the Shield Counter card in ''VideoGame/OneHundredPercentOrangeJuice'', appears to be some sort of shield regulator.

* Downplayed in the ''Franchise/TouhouProject'' series. Despite having an ImprobablyFemaleCast with [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters hundreds of characters]], the only actual schoolgirl in the cast doesn't wear a sailor fuku as her uniform. Only two characters have ever been depicted wearing one, and one of them was ''actually a sailor'' (and even then, it's difficult to tell if she's wearing shorts or a skirt).
