** Ambiguous, actually--the character is referring to his fucked-up approach to sexuality, but it's not actually clear that he is gay. [[BigBad Norman]] clearly thinks he is, but Norman doesn't exactly have the most sane and balanced relationship with reality.

* ''Hamlet's Father'' by ''Creator/OrsonScottCard'' has as part of its backstory Hamlet's father raping pretty much the entire male cast (except maybe Claudius and Polonious), turning the lot of them gay. This is why Hamlet's insane. Also, [[spoiler:Horatio killed Hamlet's dad as revenge for the aforementioned orientation-destroying sodomy]].

* In ''Series/Riverdale'', There's the UnfortunateImplications that after Cheryl Blossom dates numerous boys and Nick St. Clair attempting to date-rape her, did she become traumatized, come out as a closet lesbian and eventually develops a Yandere obsessive crush on Josie and date Toni Topaz.

It is Administrivia/NotASubversion when a rape survivor does not become gay, nor is it automatically played straight if a gay person reveals that they were sexually assaulted/abused in the past. Abuse survivors are as likely to be any sexual orientation as anyone else. For this reason, this trope is passing into DiscreditedTrope territory.

The sad part is that he doesn't even realize what he's doing is wrong; he believes what he's doing is an act of love and that they wanted to do it (the first one actually did, but the other ones definitely did ''not'')

* Griffith from ’’Anime/{{Berserk}}’’ has extensive HoYay with main character Guts which he himself generated and also participated in sex for money with an old man to fund his expanding army and was clearly traumatized by the experience. He also was violated from torture by a disfigured guard which is implied to include rape given how depraved the man sounded when he talked about how he destroyed Griffith’s beauty. Since the crime which led to the torture was him sleeping with the Kings daughter it’s likely he was castrated as well. All this destroyed his sanity and among other events led to him to rape the lover of his friend Guts (the one he believed caused his torment) in front of him in order to spite him. While Casca is raped and Guts is made to watch its almost like Guts is being psychologically raped in a experience which mirrors how he was held down and sexually assaulted by a man his father figure (whom he trusted) sold him to as a child out of spite.

In ''TOC'', she also gives Ciri the LovingForce treatment, making her if not lesbian, then at least bisexual.

* ’’Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena’’: Utena initially identifies herself as a “perfectly normal girl who wants a perfectly normal guy.” It’s when Akio pressures her into a dubious sex scene with him that she becomes more inclined towards her close friend and “Rose Bride” Anthy who she gets naked with and kisses in the movie.

* Revy of ’’Manga/BlackLagoon’’ was physically assaulted and raped by a corrupt cop as a child as her StartOfDarkness. Later, invokes DepravedBisexual towards Jane either genuinely or as a threat when the latter mentions how she wants to rope Rock into an orgy with her and Revy is implied to be in love with Rock. In her statement to Jane she says she could make Jane her bitch in prison if she wanted as she “played the man’s role to some sex starved dykes” while in prison and after that “their fingers weren’t enough for them anymore”.

When she leaves the group for a while as a part of it she has to physically restrain herself from lashing out against another stallion she meets when he playfully slaps her behind. He tried to kill Touka for being the one Kaneki loved but ultimately ends up being redeemed. The scene where he holds a cut off and disfigured hand (albeit fake) with a wedding ring on it which he says is from Touka’s beloved friend in a bid to get at Touka is particularly memorable.

This is only a partial example, since we don't know for certain that the rape ''caused'' his status as a DepravedHomosexual, but it's heavily implied that it lead to him becoming [[MindRape tremendously twisted,]] perhaps affecting his conceptions of sex worst of all.

Hentai and other pornographic stories involving some form of rape of a target whose sexuality is [[IncompatibleOrientation not in preference of the rapist's gender]] are often guilty of this as well. Related to CureYourGays (if the character embarks on pleasant heterosexual sex and consequently has a change of heart). May overlap with PromiscuityAfterRape.
