* Ike from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance'' has been seen as AmbiguouslyGay by many given none of his support routes are straight, and he seemingly grew out of his crush on Elincia by ''VideoGame/FireEmblemRadiantDawn'', as she does with him. There's a lot of subtext between him, [[{{Tsundere}} Soren]], and [[HalfHumanHybrid Ranulf]], that is often considered fanfic fuel by many a YaoiFangirl. While some of the creative staff deny it, there's a lot of evidence showing Ike has no interest in women, especially in ''Radiant Dawn'', and is either this or {{asexual}}. Given that he's the most muscular ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' Lord aside from possibly Chrom, he's an easy target for this. And also given Intelligent Systems and Nintendo have yet to actually state if he's asexual, but have plenty of ShipTease between Ike and Soren, and even Ike and Ranulf.

Compare and contrast with StraightGay. If the character is stereotypically {{Camp}}, then he's actually MachoCamp, a trope many PlayedForLaughs examples also fall into. ** Uhtred, who flirts with boys and girls alike, is an all-action [[AnAxeToGrind axe wielding]] young warrior and protégé of [[WarGod Sif]], who ends up dating Jean-Paul Beaubier (who's plenty badass, but more classically pretty and apparently camp). He's also from a family who are the Asgardian answer to Mountain Men or Marcher Lords, is fancast as Creator/SeanBean and said to be, when temporarily an adult and a fully fledged Viking God, about two metres tall, with a BadassBeard and built like a literal bear. That's about as goddamn manly as you're going to get.

* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'':
** Sweden, [[SingleTargetSexuality at least where Finland is concerned]].
** [[DrillSergeantNasty Germany]] as well, if his [[ShipTease rather]] [[HoYay close]] [[OfficialCouple relationship]] with [[GenkiGuy Italy]] is any clue. Though there's some [[NoBisexuals bi erasure]] here, as the [[CovertPervert porn he possesses]] seem to have women on the covers.
* Reiner Braun from ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' is [[AmbiguouslyGay hinted]] to be this, readily agreeing when the exceptionally insightful Ymir suggests he's "uninterested" in the opposite sex. He's the BigManOnCampus, built like a linebacker, and viewed by his comrades as a surrogate [[TeamDad big brother]].

* ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure'' does not have a lot of canonically LGBTQ+ characters but there are a few such as DIO who despite dressing very flamboyantly is very manly and muscular, and enjoys the company of other manly men.
** Many other characters also could very easily be mistaken for this, for how touch-y feel-y they are with their other very buff and manly friends.

* ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure'' does not have a lot of canonically LGBTQ+ characters but there are a few such as DIO who despite dressing very flamboyantly is very manly and muscular.

* In ''WesternAnimation/ParaNorman'', Mitch is the typical teenaged DumbMuscle, causing Norman's sister, Courtney, to be DistractedByTheSexy throughout the movie. He replies to her asking him out to see a movie that "My boyfriend's a chick-flick ''nut''."

* In ''[=MacGruber=]'', two of the men [=MacGruber=] and his sidekick consider for their team entirely of muscular go-to go-getter men are rejected without words when they start kissing each other. This is the extent of the joke. [[spoiler:So much the better for them; the car blows up.]]

* [[StreetFighter Zangief]] is a good example of this. It's not outright confirmed he's gay but many of his win quotes hint towards this.

* ''VideoGame/{{Borderlands 2}}'':

* Commander Shepard from ''VideoGame/MassEffect'' can potentially fit the trope, if played as gay in ''Mass Effect 3''. Especially if [[GoodIsNotNice Renegade]]. Female!Shepard can be played as a lesbian from the first game onwards, but making her a LipstickLesbian is ''much'' harder than making Male!Shepard a Manly Gay.

* You might think [[VideoGame/AnimalCrossing Animal Crossing]] might not have any examples given the fact there's NoHuggingNoKissing, but Jock villagers seem to push the envelope enough that it's fair to think they are this trope. The fact they show little (if any) interest in females, often preferring the company of males, complimenting on the physique of male characters such as The Villager or Cyrus, and often being in your corner if you're a guy being your one true rival, yeah. It's blatantly obvious to see what the creators had in mind when designing these guys.

* Makoa Gibraltar is a large towering BoisterousBruiser who had a boyfriend. Hell, they shared a first kiss at the Thunderdome on Kings Canyon.

* Between 2007 and 2010, numerous fan works starring the characters Thrall and Rehgar from ''Series/Warcraft''were written, as a result of the probably unintentional HoYay in their dialogue from ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft''as well as some of the supporting novels. As an axe-wielding orc warrior and Warchief, Thrall would definitely qualify for this trope were he canonically homosexual. Rehgar with his more camp mannerisms and healing abilities would be more of an AgentPeacock, making this a classic fanfiction gay pairing. Many fans maintain that these characters are bisexual and did have a relationship, although Thrall's marriage to Aggralan in the Cataclysm expansion has largely sunk the ship.

* The ''Literature/MoonBaseAlpha'' trilogy by Stuart Gibbs has this. Viktor Balnikov and Chang Hi-Tech are the brawniest of the scientists on the moon base (with Chang specifically being noted as working out four hours a day, and having a mohawk and tattoos) and half way through the third book its casually mentioned that their both gay and seeing each other (with some of Chang's suspicious behavior in snooping around the greenhouse having been because he was getting flowers to give Viktor).

* ''Webcomic/ManlyGuysDoingManlyThings'': Commander Badass has had at least one confirmed male lover. Most of his equally macho buddies are implied to be at least not opposed to the idea, with the exception of [[Film/MadMax Max]]... Who might have taken this revelation better if it hadn't [[BiTheWay come up in conversation by chance]] in the middle of an all-male camping trip a long way from anywhere. And the irony of "someone who dresses that much like a Rob Halford body-double" being the only totally straight guy in the group does not go unnoticed.
