* A ''WesternAnimation/{{Kipper}}'' episode called "Hiccups" in which Kipper gets the hiccups and tries all kinds of remedies from his friends to cure it.

* ''WesternAnimation/LittleCharmers'' has an interesting take on this with "The Switch Ups". It starts with Hazel getting the hiccups, and she tries getting her friends' help to stop them. She eventually tries a magical spell, but she hiccups during it, and gets the switch ups (where people switch forms with each hiccup). It spreads to her friends. They're eventually cured thanks to Hazel's dad scaring them with a monster mask. Then he gets hiccups.

* The ''WesternAnimation/PetAlien'' episode "Scare Affair" has Tommy getting hiccups and the aliens trying to scare them out of him before his upcoming video game tournament. They eventually succeed, only to get hiccups themselves.

* The ''WesternAnimation/PuppyDogPals'' episode "Bob's Birthday Wish" has a running gag where Rolly has hiccups, which threatens to blow their cover when spying on Bob's sister Bonnie. In the end, he gets rid of them only for Bingo to get them.

* The ''WesternAnimation/RoliePolieOlie'' episode "Hickety Ups" had Olie get the hiccups. He at first likes them since they make things sillier, but they also make things harder for him, and he tries to get rid of them. In the end, he does get rid of them, only for Billy to end up getting them.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'' had an episode dealing with the fearless Tommy having the hiccups, and Angelica doing her best to scare them out of him. The comic book also had a story like this, but with fraidy-cat Chuckie as the patient, and in a piece of irony, the gang's attempts to scare him only made him laugh. Luckily for Angelica, she was more successful scaring the hiccups out of him than Tommy. The episode ends with Tommy getting rid of his hiccups while Angelica gets them.
* ''WesternAnimation/SabrinaAndTheGroovieGoolies'' had an episode where Sabrina gets hiccups while she's at school, causing her magic to go haywire. She's eventually cured at home, at which point, Aunt Zelda hiccups.

** The episode "The Shape Of Grumbles" has Grumbles getting hiccups when he eats too fast and starts shapeshifting at random times. Abby does what she can to help. He then eats Brussel sprouts at the end, at which they're cured, but then she gets hiccups.
* ''WesternAnimation/AngelinaBallerina: The Next Steps'' has the titular character in "Angelina's Hiccups". She's eventually cured at the end but then starts sneezing repeatedly.

* In "WesternAnimation/{{Caillou}}'s Hiccups," Caillou gets the hiccups. At first, Caillou's parents tell him to be patient and they'll go away on their own, as patience is the theme of the episode in which this story is featured. But when Caillou keeps hiccupping, his parents start up with the various "cures," only for them to go away on their own, just as his parents first suggested. Then Daddy gets them.

* In chapter 4 of ''Manga/OmujoOmutsuJoshi'', Ichigo develops hiccups in the middle of class. Everyone's surprised, with one person even saying it was the first time they'd ever heard her voice. Shouta, knowing that Ichigo has issues with bladder control and having just read that babies develop hiccups after wetting themselves, assumes the worst and fakes an illness to give Ichigo a chance to get out of class by volunteering to take him to the nurse's office.

After every remedy, the sufferer will pause dramatically, then emit a "hic". Invariably, someone will finally suggest [[JumpScare scaring them]] out of the sufferer. The next half of the episode will consist of all the other characters finding ways to freak the bejesus out of the sufferer, all of which naturally fail to scare them even a tiny bit. At the end of the episode, the sufferer will usually be cured through one of two methods: either the hiccups simply go away on their own, or the sufferer becomes scared upon seeing something that ''wasn't'' intended to scare them (usually something totally benign). Cue EverybodyLaughsEnding... but wait! Suddenly, ''another'' character starts to hiccup! Or something happens to make the cured sufferer start hiccuping ''again''! Or the cured sufferer starts sneezing instead! HereWeGoAgain

* The ''Literature/CuriousGeorge'' episode "Doctor Monkey" saw George dealing with a high-class lady who had hiccups for two weeks. At the end of the episode, she seems to get rid of them only to get them back again.

Alternatively, if the character is trying to be stealthy, hiccups can have the same effect as a SneezeOfDoom.

* In ''Website/SFDebris''[='=] review of the ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'' episode, "[[Recap/StarTrekVoyagerS5E21SomeoneToWatchOverMe Someone to Watch Over Me]]", Chuck has a brief aside wherein he imagines a what a DayInTheLimelight episode focused on Harry Kim would look like. The other characters will all have their own cure, from the mundane (drink some water) to the mildly unpleasant (drinking pickle juice) to the outright bizarre (pinch your ear lobe and breathe normally). * ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': Invoked in "Griffon the Brush-Off" where Rainbow Dash startles Spike with a thundercloud. This causes Spike to hiccup fire and teleport dozens of the scrolls he dropped to Celestia as he's trying to pick them up. Said thunder cloud also gives Pinkie Pie hiccups.

His hiccups disappear when he and Bobby pull a fishing net out of Theodore and Emily's path ([[ChekhovsGag which had earlier been knocked off of Fundy the Fishing boat during one of Hank's attempts to get rid of his hiccups]]).

** The first time was in the episode "The Amulet And The Anthem". Sofia brags a bit too much about being chosen to sing the Enchancian anthem, and she gets cursed by her amulet to croak repeatedly. She's eventually cured upon showing humility.
** The second time is in "The Birthday Wish". One plot point involves Crackle getting hiccups, and she keeps accidentally burning up Sofia's party whenever the timeline is reset (Sofia made a wish to live her birthday over so it can be perfect). She's presumably cured when Sofia manages to turn her birthday around.
* In ''WesternAnimation/PackagesFromPlanetX'', one short, "Hiccup Yours", had Dan getting hiccups on the same day as a school play. Troll and Amanda try various packages to cure him, but no luck. They also end up catching them. Fortunately, everyone still liked the play regardless.
* Shani invokes this in the ''WesternAnimation/PollyPocket'' episode "Socially Awkward", where she pretends to have hiccups in order to hide a shrunken Polly and Nicolas from the principal.

* In the ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama'' episode "Hic Hic Hooray", Bridgette gets hiccups when she drinks soda too fast after she accidentally eats a worm. Noah then tricks her into thinking she'll be sent to Hiccup Island. Eventually, she scares herself into losing them due to paranoia.
* The ''Literature/MagicSchoolBus'' episode "The Magic School Bus Works Out" has Miss Frizzle get hiccups during the canoe race. After Ralphie fails to startle them out of her, she tries holding her breath, which affects her muscles, causing them to lose that race.
* In the episode "Magic Hiccups/Gaius Maecenas" from ''WesternAnimation/TheMrPeabodyAndShermanShow'', Sherman accidentally swallows a magic flute he's not supposed to use and gets hiccups. Whenever he hiccups, magical mayhem ensues. He's cured when the flute is taken out of his body.

* The ''WesternAnimation/{{TOTS}}'' episode "Hiccup Hazard" has Pip get hiccups when he drinks a smoothie too fast. All kinds of scaring techniques are used yet they fail. He's eventually cured when he sees Freddie almost get into danger when delivering Didi by himself and crashing into the tower. Freddie himself also gets them in the end, but they're cured quickly.
* The ''[[WesternAnimation/WabbitALooneyTunesProduction New Looney Tunes]]'' episode "Hiccups And Downs" has Bugs get hiccups when he drinks his lemonade too fast. Porky does all he can to cure him, even sending him to Witch Hazel and a scary castle, but no luck. Porky then pulls a trick by saying he'll move in with him and stop at nothing to cure him, which scares Bugs into losing them. We then cut to a screenshot of both of them saying how they respect each other even if they don't want to live with each other, and then [[HereWeGoAgain they both hiccup]], ending the episode.

* The beginning of ''WesternAnimation/The7D'' episode "Big Rock Candy Flim Flam" has Queen Delightful get hiccups when she drinks fizzy soda too fast. She loses them when Bashful scares her.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' has four examples:
** In "Squeaky Boots", Mr. Krabs shrinks and swallows [=SpongeBob=]'s boots when he can't stand the squeaking. When he and Pearl go on vacation at the end, he then starts hiccupping and squeaking.
** The ending to the episode "The Gift Of Gum" has Patrick get hiccups when he eats his giant gum wad named Gummy. He then blows a bubble so big with every hiccup that the entire town is covered in gum.
** In "Moving Bubble Bass," [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick get the hiccups when they try to move Bubble Bass's stuff across the bridge to his grandmother's house. They keep hiccupping so much that the bridge starts shaking, and collapses.
** "Hiccup Plague" starts with two children in a treehouse evilly concocting a bubble that gives those who come in contact with it uncontrollable hiccups. It travels across Bikini Bottom and you can probably guess how the rest of the episode plays out.
* The ''WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast'' episode "Eyes On The Pies" has Bunsen lose his memory each time he hiccups thanks to Amanda's pressurized soda.
* The ''WesternAnimation/DorothyAndTheWizardOfOz'' episode "Mission Imp-Possible" has a snow creature called The Zoup get the hiccups because of a curse from Queen Ozma, causing large quakes, which Willomena uses to her advantage. It turns out that this was a prank against her.

Then the episode ends with Jerry getting hiccups.

He's eventually cured when he accidentally scares himself by being surprised from a squeaky toy. In the end, he admits to what he did, and they all laugh. Then Colitas gets hiccups.
* ''WesternAnimation/LittleCharmers'' has an interesting take on this with "The Switch Ups". It starts with Hazel getting the hiccups, and she tries getting her friends' help to stop them. She eventually tries a magical spell, but she hiccups during it, and gets the switch ups (where people switch forms with each hiccup). It spreads to her friends. They're eventually cured thanks to Hazel's dad scaring them with a monster mask. Then he gets hiccups.

* In the ''WesternAnimation/DennisTheMenace'' episode, "Hic!", Mr. Wilson gets a case of the hiccups after riding on Alice's floor waxer. Dennis and [=PeeBee=] try to cure Mr. Wilson of his hiccups, but to no avail. Eventually, when Mr. Wilson sees that Dennis and his friends have painted his car (fortunately for him, Dennis washed the paint off before it dried), the shock cures him. At the end of the episode, Dennis gets the hiccups.
