** Red and Blue are the main characters of the [[VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue original games]]. A character named Leaf (after "[=LeafGreen=]") was added in the remakes as it adds the ability to choose the [=PC's=] gender found in later games (storywise, she's pretty much just [[DistaffCounterpart Red, but female]]). The sequels, ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokémon Gold and Silver]]'', have Gold (later renamed Ethan), Kris, and Silver as main characters. It wasn't until after that generation that they stopped naming characters after colors.
** [[VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue Two]] [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite generations]] got color-named games - and the intervening ones were named after valuable minerals, which also have homonymous colors (except Crystal and Diamond).

*** Finally, and fascinatingly, while the 80s push to use colored designations mostly fizzled, it seems to have caught on in Philadelphia's substantial Spanish-speaking community. Hispanic Phillies are liable to call the El ''la Línea Azul'' and the Sub ''la Línea Naranja'' even if they'd say "the El" and "the Sub" in English.

* ''LightNovel/AccelWorld'' has Silver Crow, Lime Bell, Cyan Pile, Red Rider, Scarlet Rain, Cherry Rook, Yellow Radio, Green Grandee, Blue Knight, Purple Thorn, White Cosmos, Ivory Tower, Orchid Oracle, Crimson Kingbolt, Coral Merrow, Orange Raptor, Violet Dancer, etc.

* Almost everyone in ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'' has the kanji for a color somewhere in their names. ''Aka''shiya [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Moka]] (red), ''Ao''no [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Tsukune]] (blue), ''Shira''yuki [[AnIcePerson Mizore]] (white), ''Kuro''no [[HornyDevils Kurumu]] (black), [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Morioka]] ''Gin''ei (silver) and [[CuteWitch Sendou]] ''Yukari'' (written with the kanji for "[[SupernaturalIsPurple purple]]"). These colors are appropriate for the characters, such as Mizore having [[AnIcePerson ice powers]] and Gin being a werewolf.

* ''ComicBook/BlueMonday'': Bleu Finnegan, the main character, has [[TechnicolorHair blue hair]]. She's the only character named after a color though.

** And then there are [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast the Scarlet sisters]], and [[FanNickname Lily Black]], who is Lily White {{cosplay}}ing, or [[{{Fanon}} a completely different character]].

** For Shiromi, "shiro" means white, named after the White Dragon of the West.

* In ''Videogame/{{Touhou}}'', Chen, Ran, and Yukari's names mean Orange, Indigo, and Violet respectively. Each name's color's position on the electromagnetic spectrum corresponds to its owner's power level with violet being the strongest and orange being the weakest.

* In ''VideoGame/BugFables'', Vi's full name is Violet ([[ItIsPronouncedTroPAY using French pronunciation]] (vee-oh-lay), to preserve the punniness of [[ALizardNamedLiz her shortened name]]). Though she ironically [[NonIndicativeName lacks any purple in her design]], her name is complimentary to her sister's name, Jaune, which is a French word for yellow.

* ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders'': Our heroes' [[{{FightingSpirit}} Stands]] fit the bill: Star ''Platinum'', Hermit ''Purple'', Magician's ''Red'', Hierophant ''Green'', and ''Silver'' Chariot. A few early villains' Stands do the same (such as ''Dark Blue'' Moon and ''Ebony'' Devil).
** ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind'': Meanwhile, later on in the series, Giorno's Stand is called ''Gold'' Experience [[spoiler: later, ''Gold'' Experience Requiem]]. * Walt Disney World monorail trains are designated different colors. Blue,Black,Coral,Gold,Green,Lime,Orange
Peach,Red,Silver,Teal and Yellow are the colors used. Pink and Purple were retired after an incident in 2009 where one train crashed into another and the driver of Pink was killed.

* ''Manga/DetectiveConan'': The most notable example is Shuichi Akai. "Akai" means "red" and many chapters and cases he appears have "red" or "scarlet" in the title. Overall, his name is a ShoutOut to both Char Aznable himself from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'', who is nicknamed "Red Comet" due to his red [[HumongousMecha Zaku]], and to Char's seiyuu Creator/ShuichiIkeda. Shuichi Akai eventually becomes TheDanza.

** The two mascots of''VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield'' might illustrate the ArmsAndArmorThemeNaming, but their names allude to their primary color - the blade-carrying Zacian ("the cyan", being blue) and the armor-producing Zamazenta ("the magenta", being red).

* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'': WordOfGod has [[https://twitter.com/montyoum/status/406894139746172928/photo/1/large confirmed]] that, with only one exception, all characters in the show are named according to specific rules that are linked to colour associations. The episode "Field Trip" reveals there was once a war where tyrannical leaders tried to ban art and all other forms of expression, leading parents to name their childrens after colors out of defiance, a tradition that continued after the war ended. So in the case of the core cast, Ruby Rose is red-themed and based on Little Red Riding Hood; Weiss Schnee is white-themed and is based on Snow White (her name is German for "White Snow"); Blake Belladonna is black-themed (her name comes from an Old English word referring to someone with black hair); and Yang Xiao Long is yellow-themed and based on Goldilocks (her name is Chinese and can be read as "Little Sun Dragon").
