* In the original DonkeyKongCountry, Diddy Kong does this whenever he loses a bonus mini game.

* A Running Gag on ElChavoDelOcho, with Don Ramon stomping on his hat whenever he's angry.

* On ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', Squidward gets so angry at SpongeBob that he snatches his hat and stomps on it. Turns out SpongeBob is CrazyPrepared and always carries a lead brick under his hat for just such an occasion.
