If one were to be dropped into one of the moments these two share on-screen, you might confuse their banter with BelligerentSexualTension or even to think they're a couple already. Their VitriolicBestBuds routine and [[{{Keet}} Mr. Peanutbutter]]'s relentless desire for [[GrumpyBear [=BoJack=]]] to like him certainly do not help. Nor does the fact that certain[[note]][[FanPreferredCouple a lot of people, actually]][[/note]] portions of the fanbase ''do'' ship them.

* While picking up Diane, [=BoJack=] encounters Mr. Peanutbutter after an drunken incident in which he punched a mirror believing it was another dog. SPOILER: [[ConeOfShame He's wearing a cone]]. Normally, [=BoJack=] wouldn't pass this opportunity to mock him, especially considering all of the shit he went through in season 1. But because he's trying a new attitude, he's simply nice to him. All of the sudden, these two are actually "hanging out", much to Diane's surprise. Never does [=BoJack=] insults PB, he actually encourages him to continue his cheerful attitude through the day, even agreeing with him with both being "life lovers". It's a genuine FriendshipMoment between the two, with PB telling BJ about his love for ska and for the Stones (Music/TheMightyMightyBosstones, that is), even offering to take him to one concert, which he ''agrees to''.

* Mr. Peanutbutter is VERY enthusiastic about Bojack moving in with him after previously mentioning how odd it is not having a wife or girlfriend to take care of living with him. The series ends with them both single and implies that Mr. Peanutbutter will be the one person throughout Bojack's life who will never leave him.

* Mr. Peanutbutter's reassurances towards Bojack during their last scene together are notably similar to those he used while trying to convince his ex-wives/girlfriends that he wouldn't leave their sides in the Season 5 episode "Mr. Peanutbutter's Boos".
