* An early arc in the ''Manga/GetBackers'' anime had the Recoverery service of Ban and Ginji doing battle against transporter Kuroudo "Doctor Jackal" Akabane, voiced by Shannon [=McCormick=] in the dub. In the machinima ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'', [=McCormick=] does the voice for Agent Washington, who happens to be codenamed Recovery One.

** In the ''Shippuden'' dub, Chiyo is voiced by Barbara Goodson. Her grandson, Sasori is voiced by JohnnyYongBosch. That's right, [[MightyMorphinPowerRangers Rita Repulsa and Adam]] are doing role reversal (Goodson as one of the heroes, and Bosch as a villain).

* In an episode of ''Anime/CodeGeass'', Lelouch goes to Ikebukuro and Jeremiah comes to kill him. Sounds fairly straightforward, until JohnnyYongBosch and Creator/CrispinFreeman got cast as [[LightNovel/{{Durarara}} Izaya and Shizuo]], and all you can think about is whether Jeremiah is going to throw a vending machine at Lulu when he gets there. (For context, ''Durarara!!'' is set in Ikebukuro.)

** This is actually surprising to some people since JohnnyYongBosch had worked with Funimation a few times in the past.

** One of the tracks for ''Decode'' is named "Franchise/WonderWoman". Not only did Creator/ZackSnyder admit that ''Decode'' was an influence for the Superman/Zod battle at the end of ''Film/ManOfSteel'', but in the Film/DCExtendedUniverse, depending on [[Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice the]] [[Film/WonderWoman2017 movie]], Diana herself in the Japanese dub is either [[Creator/YukoKaida Moss]] or [[Creator/KotonoMitsuishi OVA!Birdy]].

* ''Anime/{{Gintama}}'', mixing this with BitingTheHandHumor, makes a joke in the middle of Season 2 that there would be a movie of it's Benizakura arc. A fake trailer was shown, and the characters joked in universe how Creator/{{Sunrise}} already has the track record of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam recutting]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam remaking]] their series into feature-length movies. After the first Gintama series ended, this is exactly what Sunrise would eventually do for the first Gintama movie.

** Ash's first Pokemon League battle ever takes place over a pool of water, and at one point, he orders Krabby to dive into it. Come Gen III, Dive becomes an official move.

* ''Manga/ShugoChara'' had this weird moment where our resident crossdresser makes a return and apparently, if Kukai, Tadase and Nagahiko were in the same scene, they resemble the trio from ''BokuNoPico''.

** In a ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'' mod, there is a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loln9flB5Vg video]] with [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX Zidane]] fighting [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyIII Cloud of Darkness]]. Now look at Lust and compare her appearance with that of the Cloud of Darkness and realize that Creator/LauraBailey voices both in English. Edward Elric and Zidane have the same seiyuu, RomiPark.

* In the opening scenes of [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureVentoAureo Part 5]] of ''Franchise/JoJosBizarreAdventure'', [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Part 4]] supporting character Koichi Hirose meets protagonist Giorno Giovanna. RomiPark voiced the latter in the [[UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 PS2]] adaptation of this story arc, then the former in ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureAllStarBattle''.

* Andy Richter recorded the voice of Notoru in the English dub of ''Anime/TheCatReturns''; in fact, it was his only anime voice work ever. Well, that is, until ''TheTonightShow'' [[http://vimeo.com/10662248 took a little trip to Bang Zoom]]...

** Anyone who's familiar with ''[[Anime/Pokemon Pokemon's]]'' "[[NewRulesAsThePlotDemands aim for the horn]]" probably had their laughs back in Gen III of the games, when the Rhyhorn family (including Rhydon, which was the victim of said move) gained the Lightningrod ability. So not only is it immune to electrical attacks, probably to the frustration of those who can't tell between anime plot and game mechanics, but with that ability, as long as it's on the field, you can't aim an Electric attack at ''any other Pokémon''!

* ''Anime/LuckyStar'' is known for its frequent use of BlandNameProduct. Case in point: Konami is renamed "Kyonani" in the background when Konata imagines herself in ''VideoGame/TrackAndField''. As of 2017, [[http://dmxrated.deviantart.com/art/Lucky-Star-Day-of-the-Beehive-654697256 the cover image for a planned fangame]] has surfaced, with its own variation of the company name (and former logo) as that planned for the team-to-be behind it. * In ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'' (2006), Yuichi is chastised for having a boring introduction to his new class. Yuichi says, "If's there an interesting way to introduce yourself, I'd like to see that." In that same year, his voice actor landed on the role of Kyon.

** Speaking of Creator/AyaHirano, there's [[Manga/LuckyStar Konata]] singing "[[Anime/DragonBallZ Cha-la Head-Cha-la]]" in an ending credits. Cue Hirano landing a role on ''Anime/DragonBallKai'' as Dende and Bulma in the Japanese dub of ''Film/DragonballEvolution''.

* Remember the whole [[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya "We're stuck in an endless recursion of time"]] thing? Said by Itsuki Koizumi, voiced by Creator/DaisukeOno? Cue Ono later voicing Battler in ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'', also stuck in a GroundhogDayLoop, albeit this one not noticeable to...[[MindScrew part of]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext himself]].
** For more hilarity, guess which character is voiced by Creator/TomokazuSugita (the voice of Kyon)? Ronove the butler, who is also caught (sorta) into said GroundhogDayLoop. Not only everyone is Itsuki for Kyon, but now everyone is Ronove for Battler.
** Also connecting ''When They Cry'' and ''Haruhi'': "Remote Island Syndrome". The episode/chapter contains Haruhi and co. getting trapped on an island during a storm and trying to "solve a murder mystery." Apparently, it was supposed to draw parallels to ''Umineko's'' sister series ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'' (with even one of the characters named Keiichi), but in retrospect, the basic plot is almost identical to ''Umineko's''.
** Happens to him AGAIN in ''VisualNovel/VirtuesLastReward''.

** Ten years after voicing [[Franchise/HaruhiSuzumiya an occasional bunny girl]], Creator/AyaHirano is now voicing an ''unwilling'' [[PlayboyBunny bunny girl]]. * A running joke on the ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'' site Pokemopolis is that Togepi is evil. An episode of the anime years later focuses on "The Worst Togepi Ever!"
