* In ''Webcomic/YumisCells'', Yumi's younger co-worker Ruby is a shallow, selfish girl, and quite willing to spite Yumi in her quest to steal Wook. After TheReveal that he's gay (which Ruby doesn't know about), this becomes somewhat more amusing but she still inspires quite a bit of reader vitriol.

After TheReveal that he's gay (which Ruby doesn't know about), this becomes somewhat more amusing but she still inspires quite a bit of reader vitriol. Ruby eventually starts falling out of this trope when she is no longer a romantic threat to Yumi and the latter starts moving on in her career.

** [[EvilOverlord Emperor Ginold]] is the [[TheDreaded feared]] and absolutely [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating despised]] ruler of Northeast Planet. Prior to the events of the main story, he overthrew the benevolent ruler Kornol the Great and started a reign of terror, torturing and executing anyone who got in his way. Almost every other move he makes is a KickTheDog act, and to firmly cement his despicability, [[spoiler:he kills his henchman Balthazar at the moment he turns on him, [[TheHeroDies murders Jordan and Arnie]], and has Gary subjected to a FateWorseThanDeath]].
** Subverted with [[TheDragon Balthazar]]. Throughout much of the story, he appears to be nothing more than a pain in the ass who constantly tries to hinder the heroes' plan to defeat Ginold, and is only there to invoke facepalms from readers, leaving them with no choice but to cheer every single time he fails in getting his hands on the heroes. [[spoiler:However, it ultimately comes to light that Balthazar is actually [[LukeIAmYourFather Jordan's father]] who was believed to be dead, and in his final moments, he [[RedemptionEqualsDeath sacrifices himself to protect his son]].]]
** [[ImAHumanitarian Morliss]], nicknamed the "Mountain Giant", is a revolting piece of scum who killed a dog and threw a baby into the creek for fun. To gain physical strength and become a wrestling champion, he began [[WouldHurtAChild eating children]] and then tried to do the same to Jordan and his friends when they crossed paths. Not a single soul gives a crap when he gets [[KickTheSonOfABitch bludgeoned to death by Ginold]].
** [[LoonyFan Adrianna de la Santos]] is a violent, sadistic woman with a fanatic obsession with Emperor Ginold. She murdered her own family and either killed or participated in the murders of over sixty other people before collecting their skeletons as trophy. She then maimed and hung herself just to traumatize anyone who saw her body. In the story, she nearly [[MindRape brainwashes]] Jordan into killing everyone near him before [[PsychicAssistedSuicide killing himself]], and she has apparently done this to eighty other people as well. [[spoiler:At the end of the story, she erases any likability she had by personally murdering Olivia and Carl during the war against Ginold]].
** [[TheMole Colonel Biorge]] is a sleazy imbecile of a man who betrayed his army and killed one of the soldiers during the final war against Ginold, invoking much contempt and horror from the other characters. He uses the deaths of his friends and family to justify his betrayal, but he uses possibly the most outrageous and ridiculous logic for doing so (specifically, he believes that [[InsaneTrollLogic by killing as many people as he can, Ginold will give up trying to wipe out people by the dozens and that will somehow bring justice to his dead family]]). To say his death at the hands of Jordan is cathartic would be an understatement.

** Season Two's BigBad Baron Vordenberg, despite his initial appearance as a friendly, if eccentric old man, is an egomaniac out to make an empire himself so he can pretend to be the hero. Upon taking control of the Silas board, he uses students as an army, and his newfound power to detain vampires, and vampire sympathizers with the threat of execution. His reckless actions cause more harm than good, and thinks nothing of killing his allies to get to his enemies and include opening a hell-gate and starting a war. His stories about his heroics and family history turn out to be lies for the sake of his ego, and he smugly rubs it in everyone's faces as he prepares to execute Carmilla.
** Theo is a misogynistic and ambitious frat brother of the Zeta's. Initially seeming harmless, Theo reveals his true colors when Vordenberg orders him to murder Danny to be head of the Zeta's. Theo literally stabs Danny in the back because he didn't want to risk loosing to her,taunting a helpless Kirsche and Laura. After Vordenberg's death, Theo allies with Inanna and the Covae corporation in enslaving Silas students, selling out the world to Hell on Earth. Unlike Inanna's more sympathetic motives, Theo is doing this to have a seat of power. He would also use his position to sexually harass female students.

As if he couldn't get any more loathsome, he even asks the police officers to let him commit one more murder in prison if he shows "good behavior", using the excuse that "everyone dies".]]
** While Jason Hynes [[spoiler:ultimately isn't the one who killed his son]], he is still nevertheless a bad-tempered and foul-mouthed JerkAss who hardly mourns his son and pushes away anyone who tries to comfort him or solve the murder. It is heavily implied that he abused Michael as well, and even the death of his wife isn't enough to make him appear sympathetic thanks to his coarse, slimy, and insensitive nature.

He reminisces on these atrocities with disgusting glee to the Foundation, and expresses a desire to make his interviewer into another "doll". * ''Literature/TheDefiler'': [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Y'golonac]], per usual, is the Great Old One of Depravity and Perversion who manipulates a man into summoning him and taking possession of his body to commit murders and rapes. Upon meeting the protagonist, he tries to force him to say his name in hopes of breaking free from his imprisonment and bringing about the end of mankind.
* Duke Crabtree from ''[[Creator/{{Zapdramatic}} Ambition]]'' was clearly ''supposed'' to be this, with being a SmugSnake cop with a whiny, nasally voice, along with the player being given the option to insult and even punch him [[spoiler: along with the fact that it turns out that he was EvilAllAlong]]. It backfired, though, when he became [[EnsembleDarkhorse one of the most popular characters in the series]] thanks to some [[MemeticMutation bizarre memetic lines]], being far more competent than the protagonist (to the point of being able to successfully stand in as a marriage counselor), and his apparent ability to summon bright, colorful lights and a guitar wail when he [[spoiler: kills you with a tire iron.]] Meanwhile, other characters like Ted, who [[CreatorsPet the creator tried really hard to make sympathetic in spite of his actions]], became TheScrappy instead.

When several pregnant women are found gruesomely murdered, he further demonstrated his misogyny by complimenting the serial killer for cleaning the sinful town. By the time he was arrested when one of his victims escaped, he curses the jury, threatening divine retribution on them for sending him away.
* Penelope, one of the four students of a class in the satirical web short 'Modern Educayshun' by Neel Kolhatkar. Her ridiculously politically correct and left-wing populist ideals and logic as well as deliberate ignorance to prove her points when reasoned by the protagonist has made her just as detestable as Umbridge.
* ''WebVideo/PhilosophyTube'': [[EvilCounterpart The Arsonist]], also known as the traveling salesman, is portrayed by Olly as embodying, to him, everything wrong with modern-day ultraconservative worldviews as well as representing a cautionary tale of how vulnerable people are towards far-right and fascistic ideas. In ''Steve Bannon'', the Arsonist is used by Olly to highlight how the far-right uses [[FauxAffablyEvil superficial charm]] and exploits down-to-earth rhetoric to turn people against anti-racist and anti-fascist activists and light matches(a metaphor for committing hate crimes) with the arsonist. Further videos such as ''Abortion & Ben Shapiro'' and ''Climate Grief'' reveal that the Arsonist was responsible for burning his wife to death when she had an abortion and that the Arsonist believes that draconian forms of population control [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain directed against immigrants and refugees]] are totally justifiable means of fighting climate change.

* ''Literature/TailsSeries'':
** Rast, Douglas, and Seamus from ''Literature/TailsOfFame'' were all clearly written to be loathsome characters. Seamus is a disgusting, racist, obnoxious PigMan who intentionally tries to annoy and gross out everyone around him. Douglas is a very smug, overconfident SharkMan who thinks he's better than everyone else and talks to everyone in a condescending tone. Rast is a BitchInSheepsClothing whose relationships with everyone is completely hollow, and he constantly keeps trying to justify his actions by saying that he just wants to be happy and wants to be famous. Various characters call these three villains out on their behavior ''several times''.
** ''Literature/TailsOfTheBountyHunter'' has [[TheEvilGenius Dr. Vogar Oblingor]] and [[TheBrute Gobor Grizzer]]. The former is a SmugSnake of a MadScientist who views everyone as nothing but simple-minded dilettantes or puppets, and he desires to turn anthros into mindless [[SuperSoldier Super Soldiers]] he can use to terrorize the public. The latter is a DirtyCop who uses his authority to rape innocent civilians and commit acts of terrorism. [[spoiler:Raping the main character after forcing him to devour ''his feces'', followed by setting off a chemical weapon at a basketball stadium]], pretty much cemented him as being one of the most deplorable characters in the story.
* ''Podcast/TheEdgeOfSleep'':
** Gus is a stupid, rude drug dealer who is friends with Dave and Katie. When Dave arrives at the party late, Gus has to be reminded of his name twice and later refuses to help Dave save Randy's life because he doesn't want to risk being arrested. Later it's revealed that he likely lied to Katie and gave her Speed instead of MDMA.
** The Trespasser is a vile, sexist SerialRapist with dozens of victims who he has raped and killed and a disturbingly casual way of referring to his crimes. He taunts his latest victim that her mother is likely dead when everybody starts dying in their sleep and looks over what is now "his world" with awe and sadistic glee at having no one to stop him from hurting others. He kidnaps Katie and later Dave, and intends to kill him slowly with medical tools. Even after Dave befriends him he decides to castrate Dave to keep him away from Katie, mockingly saying that he'll have to "enjoy a good book" while he's raping Katie. After Mateo and Dave stop him, he breaks down, saying that the girls were "junkies" whom he didn't hurt and pathetically begging to be let go. When the group straps him into an MRI to see what happens when a person dies in their sleep, any sympathy the audience may have for him goes away when he mocks Dave about the nightmares he'll have from witnessing his death.
* ''Literature/ThirtyDaysInSpring'': [[TeensAreMonsters Ryan Rhodes]], despite being the [[VillainProtagonist protagonist]] of the story, is the only character without any likable traits. Not only does he kill, rape, and torture just for the [[ForTheEvulz fun of it]], he is an absolute [[DirtyCoward coward]] who acts like a jerk to basically anyone he sees, showing no gratitude towards Aaron for saving his life despite begging for someone to come to his rescue just seconds ago. He hates his own family for no real reason aside from the fact that they get on his nerves at times, and he even treats his own gang like [[BadBoss dirt]], not batting an eye when they are killed. All in all, it is clear that he is not someone we should feel any sympathy for.
* ''[[https://my.w.tt/cPo8plv7IY Une Fille des Ombres]] (A Daughter of Darkness)'': [[EvilTwin Zaya "Zay" Aboulafia]] is Alison "Ali" Aboulafia's twin sister. Despising her sister as a person and "loving" her as a toy that she can play with to her content, she manipulated the other children into bullying Ali for years. Aware of Ali's anger and stress issues, she gave her coffee to worsen her condition, leading Ali to beat up other children for little to no reason, worsening her reputation, much to Zay's delight. Feeling insecure about Ali [[AlwaysSecondBest constantly surpassing her]], she threw a fit when Ali got, for the first time, a better mark than her in art and only grew angrier when Ali, as Zay during their TwinSwitch day, proved to be a better Zay in character traits: Zay promptly destroyed Ali's relationship with her best friend Rachel Ouliqaliq as [[DisproportionateRetribution retaliation]], and later had the other kids give her a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown when Ali confronted her about her doings, blaming her for "abandoning her" in favor of Rachel. When Ali accidentally kills Érik Andreas, Zay has no empathy for Érik and is only impressed that Ali actually killed someone.

The three [[KarmaHoudini avoid retaliation]] due to an inept school system, [[spoiler:the fact that Sophia was protected by her status as a Ward]], and Taylor's [[WellThisIsNotThatTrope refusal]] to go on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge with her new powers. While they are definitely not as atrocious as some of the [[CardCarryingVillain actual villains]] and [[EldritchAbomination inhuman monsters]] in the story, the hatred from fans comes from the [[EvilIsPetty nature of their antagonism]] and Tattletale's later reveal that she [[spoiler:recruited Taylor in large part because her powers told her that Taylor was on the verge of suicide]].
** Emma Barnes was once Taylor's [[EvilFormerFriend best friend]]. In both timelines she becomes an anti-troll xenophobic ruler who tries to curb their population. In Candy, her power is greater, she gets Jake in a ''horribly'' abusive relationship where she rapes him under the Trickster Lollipop and mistreats him and their son, and her treatment of the troll race gets so bad that an all-out rebellion war breaks out. She becomes Earth C's own Condesce-like tyrant, but unlike the Condesce, she lacks any "cool" traits and her actions are portrayed with far more Realism-Induced Horror.]]

** The Foundation deals with many evil and truly abominable entities, but the one that fits this trope the most is likely [[http://www.scpwiki.com/scp-4666 SCP-4666]], [[BadSanta the Yule Man.]] To put it lightly, he is possibly the most ''vile, horrific, nauseating'' monster on the whole site, as not only is he a predatory SantaClaus, but a serial [[WouldHurtAchild child torturer]] and [[SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil slave driver.]] Every Christmas, the Yule Man breaks into houses and brutally slaughters most of the family in torturous ways before kidnapping the youngest child. Households he spares receive gruesome presents made from the bodies of his victims. In his cave, he forces the kidnapped children to build these horrible toys, punishing them with mutilation and death if they try to rest, eventually eating them or making them into presents. The Yule Man's sheer cruelty and depravity rivals, if not ''surpasses'' that of 106 and [[MonsterClown Bobble the Clown]], and there is absolutely nothing endearing or redeemable about him whatsoever.
