* After Jacob finally recovers from his grievous injuries, thanks to his sibling's hard work, he is noticeably cheerily callous about the fact that he had ''nearly died'' and even tries to joke with his sibling, which can lead to his up-to-ten-years-younger sibling openly berating him about how serious the situation was (which is funny in hindsight). I'm pretty sure the dialogue is implying he doesn't remember the previous time he threw a snowball, and he is reminiscing about it because he just threw one at Snape.

** Additionally, the fact that Dumbledore says he can’t remember the last time he threw a snowball, plus the fact that, according to the timeline, Snape has only been teaching for a few years at this point, implies that he threw the snowball before Snape became a professor. Meaning that Dumbledore either threw the snowball at a student Snape or, more likely, at Snape as a Death Eater!
