** The hive world of Burton Primaris and its capital of Burtonopolis (and Burton Secundus and other planets in that system to the extent) are obviously named after Creator/TimBurton whose [[Film/{{Batman}} Batman]] [[Film/BatmanReturns movies]] are set in a grim, gothic city not unlike hive cities in ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000''.

** Illinois James, Donner's Inquisitorial mentor, has a name similar to ''Film/IndianaJones''.
