This or these examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected, or something is just an innate aspect of the setting or character that has a logical reason for being present); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** [[spoiler:However badass Rainbow Dash and Applejack are, they can't singlehoofedly fight off a group of [[{{Mooks}} anonymous looters]] who both outnumber and get the jump on them.]]
** Twilight deliberately works up enough anger to yell at Luna for getting her into this mess and the looming civil war. Luna demonstrates her long experience with politics by defusing Twilight's anger, leaving her too confused to argue effectively.

Added DiffLines:

* ThinksOfSomethingSmartSaysSomethingStupid: Twilight's reaction to her "gift".
-->'''Twilight (thinking):''' ''I'm sorry Celestia, I should really head back to Ponyville and talk to Mayor Mare about this. Please rectify this situation for me, Luna, as soon as equally possible, as well-intentioned as your gift was. I hope you understand that I refuse it humbly, and not out of malice, as being the overlord of your friends tends to be a bit of a faux pas.''
-->'''Twilight:''' I need to get the buck back to Ponyville and figure this out before they tar my ponyfeathers and lynch me for this!
-->'''Celestia:''' Twilight!
-->'''Twilight:''' ...I just said the in-my-head thing out loud and the out-loud thing in my head, didn't I?

* IncrediblyLamePun: InnocentlyInsensitive: Upon learning she's got a new assistant, Twilight has a terrible weakness for them. Half asks her internal monologue seems to "Could you fetch me a cup of coffee?" When the mare glares and angrily says "Fetch?", Twilight responds with "Oh, don't make me beg." The mare becomes even more offended, tells her to go deal with what's happening outside on her own, and storms off. After dealing with the crowd outside, Twilight comes back in, talks to the mare to try and figure out why she's so mad, and finally mentions that she doesn't even know the mare's name. It turns out to be wordplay Golden Retriever, and [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal alliteration.]]
she's heard so many jokes about it that when Twilight started saying things like "fetch" and "beg", Golden thought she was starting in too and lost her temper. Fortunately, once they both realize their mistakes, Golden calms down.

* {{Adorkable}}: Besides Twilight as per usual, there's Golden, much like her with maybe half the self-esteem.

** Then ''everyone else'' joins in on the joke. Even Fluttershy. With a comically earnest speech about the merits of kicking baby birds, since they would just try their very hardest to fly farther and get good distance.
