It’s the dawn of Era 3 and Little Homeworld has recently finished construction. Peridot theoretically has everything she’s ever wanted: an awesome home, close friends, and an important job as Chief Technician.

She’s having increasingly complicated feelings about Lapis and her personal projects have taken a turn towards the dangerous, but that’s fine -- she can handle it. Also, Zircon is absolutely convinced a Homeworld Gem has it out for Peridot, but she’s probably just being nervous as usual. That’s nothing a marathon of trashy TV can’t fix.

Meanwhile, Lapis is dealing with complicated feelings of her own, and Bismuth just wants her friends to calm down and talk to each other.

They’re all responsible, professional Gems, and [[BlatantLies everything is completely under control and not on fire.]]

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

** One of the new Peridots of Little Homeworld, Dottie, [[UpToEleven is somehow even worse,]] with Peridot suspecting she'd have been shattered had Homeworld not been strapped for resources. [[spoiler: It's later confirmed she was spared specifically to make her a loyal pawn of her Agate supervisor.]]

Plot Happens, none of these outcomes are "Surprisingly Realistic" and are just shoehorns

* HeroWithBadPublicity: Technically correct or not, accusing the Diamonds of the murder of one of their own has made Blue Zircon a washed up has-been at best in the eyes of her fellow Zircons, and a laughingstock at worst.

** As brilliant as Peridot is, the fact she happened to be assigned to the Cluster by chance, along with feeling like she only got the position of Chief Technician because she's the only Peridot Steven knows all that well, and the millennia of working under Homeworld, makes Peridot feel like she's interchangeable with any other Peridot and they might even be able to do a better job than her.
** While certainly an improvement over the Era 2 dictatorship, Era 3 isn't perfect; the reforms aren't complete yet, and many former elite gems would love to go back to the old system. [[spoiler: Some resort to sabotage.]]

Not So Different has been renamed, and it needs to be dewicked/moved

* MirrorCharacter: Both Peridot and Blue Zircon are Era 2 Gems who feel inadequate compared to everyone else, have severe anxiety issues, and feel like they only got their positions because of their relationships to Steven instead of their own merits.

* OddFriendship: Blue Zircon the walking stress ball and the hyperactive Peridot, who ended up like this after Peridot forced Blue Zircon into watching weird vampire lawyer shows with her, [[NotSoDifferent though it's implied it's really because both suffer from severe anxiety issues.]]

added quotes to Running Gag, Wham Line

* GoingNative: Despite every effort to resist this happening to her, Blue Zircon ends up catching what Peridot calls Earth Madness. Blue Zircon naturally ends up freaking out (briefly) as a result.

Moved Meaningful Name to Trivia tab

* MeaningfulName:
** Zircon 6GN's designation is derived from "gone native," which is exactly what Zircon did after living on Earth for a while.
** Dottie. Self-explanatory.
** 2PK sounds a bit like [[spoiler: TPK, i.e. ''total party kill.'' WordOfGod confirms she was originally going to be much more evil.]]
** Rutilated Quartz, aka Tilly, [[spoiler: Steven and Peridot’s fusion.]] One of its metaphysical associations is of speeding up intuition and personal progress, a nod to Tilly’s more literal super speed. ("Tilly" is just because it's faster to say, though.)
** Selenite R77, the off-color in the lab with memory problems. 7 is a number associated with memory.
