The story is BetterThanItSounds. The sheer amount of misfortune the narrator goes through alone is hilarious, and the story contains dozens of jokes about the Invader Zim canon and fanon, and is a surprisingly faithful adaptation to the source material while also providing a surprisingly satisfying and heartwarming ending to the series as a whole. But of course, YourMileageMayVary.

The constant pain and humiliation she endures throughout the rest of the chapter is an [[ParodySue all-too-clear take]] on what the author thinks of poorly-thought-out eye candy-esque {{fanservice}} characters.

* FixerSue: Nick, the narrator, is called a Fixer Sue (by JohnnyTheHomicidalManiac , to be exact). It should be noted that [[spoiler: until the end,]] his efforts were unsuccessful, and while he makes friends with most of the canon characters, he also gets his fair share of crap dumped on him too.

* JerkSue: Gaz, without a doubt. She’s almost always off in her own little world and rarely helps for the benefit of anybody but herself. The reason WHY she acts like that is surprising though.

* MagicMusic: Nick’s greatest power, so much so that it’s lampshaded a few times.
* MarySue: Nick, the main character, is undoubtedly one. This character makes other characters out of characters. For example, he convinces Zim to completely go against his previous characterization towards Dib. This character is always at the center of the action, being a mediator towards all of their actions. Any flaws this character has are minor and irrelevant.
** Debatable. Nick tries frequently to get Zim and the others to change but the change almost NEVER sticks. Usually whatever good Nick does is undone by the end of the chapter.

* NightmareFuel: The chapter in which [[spoiler: Tallest Miyuki and Spork]] return is FILLED with this.
* NeutralGood: Nick is perfectly alright with breaking the rules if it means Zim, Dib, Gaz and GIR will eventually become good people.

* TearJerker: All of the [[KilledOffForReal permanent]] deaths qualify, but none more than [[spoiler: DL dying in Darth's arms]]. If your eyes didn't at least get a little moist during that scene, I fear you have no soul.
** Also, for people who had followed the story from the first chapter, the realization that it was finally ''over'' was like this, especially taking into account how [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome awesome]] and [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming heartwarming]] the ending was. This troper was actually in tears when I finished reading it.

* CompleteMonster: Zim has his moments, but Reg, Zoburg and Spork are even more so than him. Spork especially when you take the events listed under [[spoiler: LukeIAmYourFather and ColdBloodedTorture]] into account.

* BattleRoyaleWithCheese: The fight at the end of the "Top Of The Line" two-parter, and the fight against the Irkens at the end of the story (the latter being a parody of the FinalBattle in Mel Brooks' ''Blazing Saddles'').
