* WeedingOutImperfections: Several chapters involve Moondaner taking care of her garden; in one chapter she even sneaks out to buy seeds, running into and awkwardly talking with Fluttershy. It's one of the few activities keeping her sane after she is restricted to where she can be. Pulling weeds is mentioned several times, and it gives insight into her psyche.

Names The Same is no longer a trope

* NamesTheSame: Discussed in-universe by the Rainbooms. In order to avoid mixing up the two Sunset Shimmers, they refer to their friend as "Sunset" and her human counterpart as "Shimmer." They eventually start referring to her as "Lamia" once they find out she's a thief and uses that as her alias.

This or these examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected, or something is just an innate aspect of the setting or character that has a logical reason for being present); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** The Sirens promised ten thousand dollars for winning the Battle of the Bands. While the Spectacular Seven are planning a vacation with the prize money, they suddenly realize that it was probably a lie due to the Sirens having MindControlMusic. When they go to City Hall, the mayor confirms that there's no prize money.
** During the SnowballFight in ''Volume II,'' Sunset tries dashing across the snow and ice. She slips, falls, and hits her head, causing her to start bleeding.
** Rainbow Dash isn't instantly good at snowboarding just because she's a PassionateSportsGirl. She spends her first day snowboarding having to learn how to maintain her balance on the beginner's slope, and frequently falls on her face into the snow. When Rainbow tries doing a back flip off of a ramp the following day, she misjudges how much effort is needed to get a full rotation off the ramp. Rainbow only rotates about halfway in the air before hitting the ground so hard that she breaks her shoulder.
** The Spectacular Seven all apply to colleges except for Sunset. Even though Sunset is a genius and her grades are excellent, she's still from another dimension, and no doubt [[UndeadTaxExemption a college would see an obvious lack of school records and personal history if they looked into her]].
** When Sunset goes missing due to [[spoiler:being kidnapped by Lamia, Tempest and Moondancer]], Twilight overhears someone insulting Sunset at school, causing Twilight to punch the student in the face. Twilight gets detention as a result.
** After she's found, Sunset spends three weeks in the hospital, some of which are spent comatose. After all that time of no physical activity, her muscles are stiff and much weaker, her throat is very dry, and she has trouble even lifting her arms off of her bed. She ends up having to go through physical therapy to recover from all of the damage, and can only eat soft foods for a while.
** Occurs at the end of Volume III with the perpetrators of "The Longest Day". Although the dark benefactor and the Dragon get away, even with some of their accomplices pulling a HeelFaceTurn, Shining Armor (in his duty as a police officer) still has to arrest them. He does say he'll charge them as accessories instead of as perpetrators for [[spoiler:saving him and Cadence from the cave in which she was trapped]], but they're still going to jail.
