** A group of women who have no qualifications apart from finishing high school come to rule the world. Great? Not really. People resent them for not lifting a finger when a disaster decimated the world and then simply returned later to claim control by force. They are ill-suited for ruling as well and everything goes down the drain. In addition, the people of Tokyo don't appreciate having a large chunk of their city being bulldozed in order to make way for the palace.
** Ten years on the road made Ranma feel rootless and yearning for a home, instead of seeing it as a valid way of life.
** In a related note, Ranma's TrainingFromHell and one-sided education has left him completely unprepared for life in the real world, as even running a dojo requires a college degree. In Chapter 21, Genma comments that, despite his excellent martial arts skills, without a degree, he can't work at a dojo and must resort to menial jobs.
** Genma's wearing a gi all the time in canon is shown to be unacceptable in the modern world; instead, he has to wear a standard suit.
** One of the reasons for the hidden weapons technique is that it is illegal for ordinary civilians to carry swords and such in public. Nodoka comments that she is amazed that she was able to get away with carrying her family blade for a year.
** Soun's ten-year hiatus from martial arts has caused his skills to deteriorate beyond any hope of recovery, and he is hopelessly outclassed by Genma during their sparring.
** Akane having to face down all the boys of the school makes a lot more sense. In this fic, Kuno's decree (which he enforces with violence) is not that the boys have to defeat Akane to date ''her''; instead, he says that they must defeat her in order to date, ''period''. After all, no matter how attractive a girl is, some guys will simply not be interested, and others will gladly settle for someone who doesn't require a fight to date her.
** Once the events at Furinkan High could no longer be covered up by the administration (who fear Kuno's father), the authorities crack down hard on it and everything related.
** Overall, the police are involved more actively in other aspects of this story's treatment of the Ranma canon. Ryouga's reckless actions in threatening to kill Ranma, causing a violent altercation at a school, and finding himself (however unwittingly) in compromising positions with unwilling women leads to him being wanted by the police. Konatsu's family's kidnapping scheme leads to a confrontation with the Japanese equivalent of a SWAT team. Ryu Kumon's identity theft and attacking Genma in his own home land him in jail. When four staff members at the Mugen School are connected to murderous attacks, the police open an investigation that shuts the place down and destroys its reputation. The Senshi are exempt from police intervention because political higher-ups have deemed that the demons they fight are way above the police's pay grade, a fact that the police are none too happy about.
** Martial Artist vs. Speeding Truck. Truck wins, martial artist has extended stay in hospital.
** It's totally okay to stalk someone for years and try to murder them because they ruin your life? Nope! Setsuna shows Ryoga a BadFuture of what would happen had he succeeded in his goal.
** Even having Ami Mizuno to help Ranma catch up won't magically give him good grades.
** Getting cool magical powers does not give you any skill at them nor any combat training as well. The Senshi have to train hard to not end up dead in battle. Training also isn't magic. They can't expect to become good in a reasonable time. Also, Ranma can't do the training. Despite being a master of his art, he has neither the authorization nor the ability to teach others. Thus, the Senshi are trained by Cologne, while Mamoru is trained by Nodoka, who is skilled in kendo.
** Senshi always screw up the plans? Make a plan where they won't even notice until it is too late, or can't even respond to it (drain people thousands of miles away, for example).
** So your village has thousands of years of ancient martial arts techniques, and legions of female warriors in a proud, matriarchal society? Turns out that when facing people with ''guns'', the ability to hit something really hard with your fist isn't that great of a skill. Add in the "Our laws supersede those of outsiders," bit while living in ''China'', which isn't exactly known for tolerating dissidents, and you get a curb-stomping that shatters your town morally, physically, and culturally.
** Picolet Chardin's "I won an eating contest, thus I get one of your daughters" is shot down ''gloriously,'' with Ami's mom pointing out that not only was Soun not in his right mind when the deal was made (he was starving due to Happosai's training, thus the entire deal should be thrown out the window), but there is ''no'' court of law in France or Japan that would accept such a deal. Furthermore, if he tries kidnapping one of the girls, they'd get the police involved (if they didn't just have the martial artists work him over first).
** Konatsu's ugly step-family got away with all their crimes in the rural setting where they were at the top. Of course, sending Konatsu to Tokyo and then committing several crimes there got them arrested very quickly.
*** Additionally, their abuse of him is most definitely ''not'' PlayedForLaughs, as we see exactly [[SexSlave to what kind of use]] such morally bankrupt, abusive people would put a [[DudeLooksLikeALady feminine-looking boy]].
** GunsAreWorthless[=?=] Actually not; the Amazons can testify to this. Ranma and Ryoga also are not stupid enough to do anything foolish when a gun is pointed at them, nor are Konatsu's stepfamily stupid enough to try and resist when ''lots'' of guns are pointed at them by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. True, conventional weapons don't work as well against Youma or other supernatural baddies, but they work against normal people ''just fine''.
*** As shown when the Phoenix tribe use them against Ranma and Xian-Pu, to ''bloody'' effect.
** Happosai molesting girls is played deadly seriously, showing just how traumatic this would be.
** People point out that Pantyhose Taro can just get his name changed at a government office, and that he ''probably'' didn't need to track down Happosai. Not to mention that his mother was a moron, telling everyone his extremely embarrassing name (making his social life absolute hell) and honoring the wishes of a man who turned him into a monster.
** Akari. First, her fetish for anything porcine – and comparing everyone and everything to pigs – is bullied out of her in school (especially in a country with sayings like "the nail that sticks up gets hammered down"). Additionally, the whole "beat-my-pig-to-date-my-granddaughter" thing is quashed once it results in hospital bills and police intervention.
** Hotaru. After her exorcism, it is clear that, no, she cannot live with Michiru and Haruka, since the latter two are too young to raise a preteen, and the girl ends up with (a reformed) Nodoka and Genma. Additionally, because she has spent years being drained by a demonic parasite, and due to being only twelve years old, Hotaru is neither physically nor emotionally ready to become a full-fledged Senshi.
*** Once Hotaru becomes a full-fledged Senshi, which is helped by her power-up speeding up her recovery, her uniform is regarded – by everyone – as scandalous. Setsuna states that, for this reason among others, the original Senshi were required to be at least 16.
** Romance. There are more pairings in this story than canon for either of the original series, but each of the couples tries to take it slow and avoid rushing into a relationship, let alone sexual activity.
*** Specifically for Usagi and Mamoru, their past selves' relationship makes them more reticent to pursue a romance, as they want to make sure that their feelings are their own.
** It's only given brief mention, but the Senshi with odd hair colors (blonde, red, or even Michiru's oddly-colored hair) have put strain on the families in the past, ranging from worries that something was wrong with their child, to accusations that their partners cheated on them. Haruka's family especially dislikes her blonde hair; unlike the other examples, which are explained away as natural results of having ancestors with those colors generations ago or harmless genetic glitches, her blonde hair is proof that members of their family interbred with non-Japanese immediately following World War II.
** People don't recover magically from being forced to live through horrible nightmares. As a result, the Senshi have lasting changes in them, though they also want to not angst around, as that would mean letting Nehelenia win from beyond the grave.
** Not all parents will have a positive reaction to their daughter doing heroics as a magical girl.
** Xian-Pu learns that coming from a warrior village means little to the authorities if you are still of school age, as the warrior-excuse doesn't fly with them. Also, the environment of the Chinese school in Tokyo, with the children of politicians and businessmen, is not very friendly to someone from the rural area.
** When they hear that the power of the Phoenix was used by its tribe as a glorified heater, the Sailor Senshi and their companions can't help but comment on the sheer idiocy of the wasted potential.
** The bad guys don't come after the heroes one at a time, with, for instance, the Death Busters waiting for the Dark Kingdom to be defeated before themselves engaging the Senshi. There are times when the heroes must face two, or even three villains at once. Fortunately, this series averts EvilIsOneBigHappyFamily, and the various villains are as much [[EvilVsEvil enemies of each other]] as they are of the heroes.
** As the final battle looms, Setsuna arranges a meeting with the government, and Usagi, as Sailor Moon, delivers a televised address, to ensure the help of the military and the evacuation of Tokyo. Senshi or no, they can't take on an army on their own.

** Chapter 37 - 42, "Prelude to the Storm": [[spoiler: After the recovery of the Golden Crystal, unknown to the Senshi things move towards a final confrontation. They don't know the new omnicidal stance towards the world by the Phoenix Tribe starts the countdown.]]
** Chapter 43 - 48, "Battle for the World": [[spoiler: The final battles begin, as both Pharaoh 90 and Queen Metallica make their moves at the same time, turning all of Tokyo into a war zone. The fate of the earth hangs in the balance as the Senshi and their allies prepare for the fight of their lives.]]

The characters slowly but surely develop under the stresses of war while —surprise, surprise— the villains actually show some competence and skill, no longer being the buffoons of canon. It begins with Sailor Pluto.

Pluto has been stuck in a time-loop ever since the first Crystal Tokyo timeline went bad. So bad, in fact, that she broke the Gates of Time with a Dead Scream in her fury, which began the loop of hell. After she's gone insane and back again, she finds a ray of hope. There's a surge of chaos energy in this particular loop, and she takes the chance to reset and rewrite causality in the hopes of a better world. It nearly breaks the universe, but she succeeds with the side effect of several changes. The Senshi are all a year or two older, among numerous other changes. Since everyone involved is still an infant she has almost a decade and a half to put her life together and plan.

* AlasPoorVillain: Despite how much of a {{Jerkass}} they were, Ranma and the Senshi can't help but feel sorry for [[spoiler: Herb and Lime after they are killed fighting the Phoenix tribe]].

* ShipTease: In Chapter 36, between [[spoiler: Setsuna and Helios]].

* StressVomit: Merely briefly viewing the EldritchAbomination that is Pharaoh 90 is so bad that [[spoiler: after he is defeated]], everyone ends up throwing up at the horror. Even Pluto.

* ThereAreNoTherapists: Averted. Soun is so messed up, he finally accepts getting therapy to get better. Kuno also gets sent to psychatric care.

* TokyoIsTheCenterOfTheUniverse: Averted by Jadeite when he realizes that it's easy to keep the Senshi from interfering with his collection of human energy by simply doing it in another city. Since they're teenagers, they can't really get to Moscow in a heartbeat, and even if they could, they don't have the intelligence network in place to know that they would even need to ''go'' to Moscow.

** Tellu of the Witches 5 barely puts up a struggle. Her plants are neutralized by Ceres's GreenThumb, her ManEatingPlant is burned by Mars's flames, and her poison [[NoSell does absolutely bupkis]] against Ceres's PoisonImmunity.

* ScareEmStraight: A ''very'' reluctant Pluto gets forced to use what she describes as the extreme measure of using her power to show Ryoga what would happen if he actually killed Ranma; the [[RealityEnsues realization that society]] would see him as a dangerous stalker who violently killed someone in his way and put him on DeathRow no matter what kind of Hell he'd seen made him realize that vengeance just ain't worth it. It was all obviously just an illusion, but Pluto's explanation to Ryoga was that it all actually happened and she was forced to pull him out of a very bad timeline.

* WholesomeCrossdresser: Guidance councilor Setsuna calls Ukyo on this and makes her wear the female uniform in school. Then there's Tsubasa.

* ReforgedIntoAMinion: [[spoiler: Mikado, Azusa and Happosai]] are all captured by the Dark Kingdom and turned into Youma. The former two are quickly killed off when they reappear, the latter is a lot more resilient.

* RemovedAchillesHeel: After [[spoiler: destroying Pharaoh 90, the embodiment of Earth's magic, as a reward,]] removes the water trigger for Ranma's [[InvoluntaryShapeshifting Jusenkyo curse]], now allowing him to SexShift [[VoluntaryShapeshifter at will]]. By now, Ranma has accepted his curse, so he doesn't mind it remaining.

* RoyalBrat: Prince Herb qualifies by a mile. He feels that almost everyone else is below him, is highly misogynistic and incredibly petty and doesn't hesitate to use his powers with arrogance. ** The virtues of the Old Kingdom are lifted directly from ''[[{{VideoGame/Ultima}} Ultima]]''.
** The way [[spoiler: Nehellenia dies]] looks a lot like ''[[spoiler: Donavan's death in [[Film/IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade]]]]''.
** The riddle of the Old Kingdom involves three stone discs exactly like the ones in ''[[VideoGame/IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis Fate of Atlantis]]''. The combinations are are described the way as they were in Plato's Dialogue.
** The big mana tree in Elysion of course is borrowed from the ''[[VideoGame/WorldOfMana World of Mana]]'' series.

** [[spoiler: When the Death Busters and Dark Kingdom prepare for their attack on Tokyo]], the [[Anime/{{Hellsing}} Hellsing Organization]], the [[VideoGame/GabrielKnight Ritter clan]] and the [[Franchise/{{Castlevania}} Belmont clan]] are called in.

* SonicScream: Usagi not only has it, but weaponizes it on purpose to shatter a youma Mercury froze.

* TheStationsOfTheCanon: Ranma's canon stations are pretty much blown away from the very first chapter and canon events happen from time to time, with a very different context. ** Unfortunately, Pluto reveals that the person who designed the transformation sequences for the Senshi was "A hardcore lesbian pervert," and that since she's dead, no one knows how to change the sequences, so they're stuck with it.

* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Pluto plans to handle the awakenings of Sailors Uranus and Neptune carefully to prevent them from developing this mindset. After all, she has first-hand experience that shows it does not.

* VainSorceress: Nehellenia. In fact, her vanity is so big that she is [[RealityWarper warping reality]] around herself to appear youthful. [[spoiler: Being shown what she really looks like causes her to make a critical error.]]

* WarIsHell: The Senshi get a first-hand view of this while battling alongside the Chinese Army against the Phoenix Tribe.

** Saturn of course has her Silence Glaive.

*** Though Ami and her mother ''do'' have blue highlights when the light hits it right, so not ''entirely'' averted.

*** Usagi, Minako and Michiru have harmless genetic glitches to cause this. Michiru's really unusual color actually made her a target for bullying.

*** Pluto's green hair is not natural. It's the result of the strong magic she's been using for so long.

* DramaPreservingHandicap[=/=]GodzillaThreshold: Setsuna. She admits that she's very, ''very'' powerful - enough so that she manages to impress anyone who witnesses her fight (not to mention that she's the Senshi of Time and can see the future), but deliberately limits her involvement specifically because of it to extreme emergencies. This is due to her power being so great, her open intervention in a conflict would mean the enemy would overreact and pull out all the stops, ''heavily'' escalating the war. Think of it as similar to the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union; with Setsuna in place of nuclear weapons.

* ImprovisedWeapon: Genma kills a cat demon by impaling it on a broken pole.

* OffWithHerHead: Jadeite did this to the previous Sailor Ceres. He fully intends [[spoiler: to do this to Naru as well]].

* {{Reincarnation}}: The Senshi are reincarnations as per canon, as is Tuxedo Kamen of course.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: How does one establish the Phoenix tribe as a credible threat? Have them [[PragmaticVillainy use guns]] against those that get in their way, and [[spoiler: have them attack the Chinese Amazons, Musk tribe, and the Chinese army battalion and nearly wipe them all out.]]

** Ukyo had ones while hunting Ranma. She considers it a sign that her concept of gender identity is breaking down when these start to involve women, but her re-embracing her feminine side seems to have "Fixed" that, in her words.

* {{Filler}}: Mostly averted. Every encounter is in some way plot relevant, and there are no random monster attacks; they're all planned out well ahead of time by the baddies.
* {{Flanderization}}: The author does his best to avoid it, keeping everyone well-rounded and developing.

* FukuFic: A deconstruction of one.

* GunsAreWorthless: Averted. While Tokyo police with their small arms simply don't have the firepower needed to take down Youma, guns are still incredibly dangerous. Guns are ''deadly'' to all human characters, the Senshi needing their magic protect them from small arms. [[spoiler: When Kotetsu aims a gun at Ranma and Ryoga, both were not stupid enough to do anything foolish. Later, both Ranma and Xian-Pu find out just how much a gunshot hurts courtesy of the Phoenix tribe.]]

** Venus herself as the Senshi of Love of course shows that heart can be used to beat down your enemies. [[spoiler: Since "heart" also means "mind", she is immune against direct manipulation of her mind, but sadly not illusions.]]

* HeroicBSOD: Ami goes into one when the curse shatters her understanding of the real world, and then again the first time she transforms. Both times, she quickly snaps out of it - she's simply to clear-headed to let this get to her.

** When things are going bad for her, Mistress 9 uses knowlege stolen from Hotaru's former life to summon [[spoiler: the Silence Glaive. Too bad for her that the glaive does recognise her as evil. What follows is quite lethal to her.]]
** [[spoiler: When Nehellenia is tricked into thinking about the reality of her old age, she sees her reflection ([[YourMindMakesItReal aged thanks to the dream world]]) in her Dream Mirror and shatters it in a panic, destroying the only thing anchoring her [[IRejectYourReality youthful delusions]] into the dream world. [[NoImmortalInertia Reality quickly asserts itself.]]]]

** Ryoga goes through a lenghty one in Chapter 6. First he gets beaten into paste by Ranma after pissing him off at school and everyone testifies Ryoga is dangerous, thus police is warned. Breaking into Ranma's home, he accidentally peeps on Nodoka and is punted out of the house by an enraged Genma. Next morning Nodoka finds him in cursed form, takes him into the bath. End result: he has to flee from Nodoka trying to cut off his "parts" with a sword. Being found by Rei again in cursed form and a repeat in the bathroom, he's chased off by her and her grandfather, only to first run through a field of stinging nettles, a bus stop full students who get pissed off at him (he's naked after all), an all-girls school and the garden of the Tendo house where Soun tries to kill him for scaring Kasumi. Oh, and he's labeled a sex offender for it.

** From what's gathered, Endymion wasn't exactly a boyscout. However Princess Serenity seemed to have helped him finally grow up. The full extent of this is shown in Chapter 22, and how he does get better.

** Averted with the senshi's martial arts training. It will take months or years for them to become notably skilled.

** Azusa Shiratori. Is so annoying, that even Ami lost her cool.
** Takashi Hino. Rei's father sees everything as an asset for his political career. Starting a family was just a way to milk bonus points from the public.

* ItsAllMyFault: After [[AndIMustScream the unending time loop]] that hammered her machinations and their horrible consequences into her over and over again, Setsuna finds herself taking on blame for her actions that led to future problems, even when it's not her fault. For example, by locking the misogynistic Prince Herb into a female form, she might have inadvertently worsened the Musk's succession crisis, [[spoiler: meaning that they were divided when the Phoenix tribe attacked and almost wiped them out]].
* JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind: In order to save Ami from a monster that has taken over her body, they need to find her soul and encourage her to resist. Needless to say, Ami's mind is a really interesting place, especially since everything is translated to an understandbale frame of reference.

Pluto has been stuck in a time-loop ever since the first Crystal Tokyo timeline went bad. So bad, in fact, that she broke the Gates of Time with a Dead Scream in her fury, which began the loop of hell. After she’s gone insane and back again, she finds a ray of hope. There’s a surge of chaos energy in this particular loop, and she takes the chance to reset and rewrite causality in the hopes of a better world. It nearly breaks the universe, but she succeeds with the side effect of several changes. The Senshi are all a year or two older, among numerous other changes. Since everyone involved is still an infant she has almost a decade and a half to put her life together and plan.

One Time Skip later, we meet Ranma Saotome. Being dragged on his way to Soun’s house by his father, Genma finds a wallet with two train tickets. Indulging his sloth, the older man lets them take the train, only it doesn’t take them to Nerima. Instead, they end up in the middle of Minato ward and run into none other than Nodoka herself, who has changed quite a lot over the past years. The resulting events end with Genma in the dog house and Ranma returning home. Nodoka wants to correct the oversights Genma left in Ranma’s education and, knowing that he’ll need help passing high school entry exams, ask her best friends daughter to be a tutor. Her name: Ami Mizuno.

** Rather than solid blue, Ami and Akane’s hair is simple black.

** in order to fit in, Setsuna dyes her green hair black while being a civilian form (that was her natural hair color, before her magic changed it).

* AdultFear: While the parents who are in the know understand what's at stake, they nonetheless worry for the children's academic future, since they know heroics alone won't pay off.

* ApocalypseHow: Right in the first chapter, Pluto reveals a triple whammy. [[spoiler: After the Black Moon Crisis, Usagi got the crazy idea to destroy all evil in man's hearts, resulting in obedient drones with no drive to reproduce, essentially a planetwide SterilityPlague. Then, when most of mankind had already died out, they decided to overload the Silver Crystal to force an EarthShatteringKaboom to end their misery. Too bad that by now clinically depressed Hotaru decided right then it's ''her'' job to put them out of their misery and points down the Silence Glaive...]] Little wonder Pluto never wants this future to happen again.

* AscendedExtra: Naru pretty much was a slightly more used extra in canon, who quickly faded into the background. Here however [[spoiler: things turn out very different when due to Setsuna's escape history got altered and a Senshi of Ceres comes into being. In the present, Naru is said Senshi.]]

* TheAtoner: Setsuna has this mindset virtually hammered into her after all the times she witnessed how her manipulations let the universe to ruin.
* AttractiveBentGender: Ranma, of course. So much, that [[spoiler: Ami realises she wants both, boy-Ranma [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer and girl-Ranma as well]].]]

* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace: Very averted, as it is made clear that the Moon is a very deadly environment. They do need a special spell to protect them and allowing them to breathe before actually visiting it.

* BerserkButton: Ranma pulps Ryoga after he cuts Akane’s hair.
** Again, Ryoga gets punted through a window by Genma when it looks like he’s trying to peep on Nodoka.

* BigEater: Ranma, though he’s slowly learning table manners. Usagi as well.
* BoredWithInsanity: Happened to Setsuna while being stuck in the time loop; she says that she went insane and back so many times her mind is too numb to go mad any longer.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: All of Nephrite’s victims, including [[spoiler: Ranma and Ukyo]]. We later find out that this probably applies to the Dark Kingdom generals as well.

* BrutalHonesty: While Ranma has learned some tact, he can still be rather blunt, though he actually tries to give justifications for his words rather than just being rude. A good example is his first meeting with the Tendos: Kasumi gives a detailed explanation of their current dilemma, and while Ranma is sympathetic, he points out that this has nothing to do with him or his parents--Nodoka chides him for being rude, but then admits he's completely right; then, when he notes that Akane is a martial artist but not on his level and she angrily accuses him of mocking her, he forces Genma to provide a colorful explanation of their decade-long TrainingFromHell, and by the time he's finished, Akane is left in no doubt of Ranma's prowess.

* CallingYourAttacks: Averted. Ranma and the other martial artists never call their attacks - even in dialogue, the names are only seldomly used. The Senshi also don't do this apart from a few exceptions (only Venus and Jupiter did so once). The bad guys never do so.
* CardCarryingVillain: All of the villains. Either they know their actions are insidious and revel in them (Happosai, Konatsu's ugly step-family), or they just don't give a damn (most of the other villains).

** Most prominent are the emotional and mental scars Soun and Genma have from their apprenticeship with Happosai. Being under the thumb of such a cruel man for years crippled both of them emotionally in a way.
** [[spoiler: The Neko-Ken, which is shown in its whole, brutal reality. Think it's funny see Ranma act like a cat? Not after witnessing the truth - that the Neko-Ken is merely a possession ritual to summon cat-demons into the world.]]
** [[spoiler: Konatsu's step-family and all the crap they have done is also brought to its [[SexSlave logical, horrific conclusion]]. All of a sudden it's not funny at all.]]

* CombatMedic: Not who you’d expect - [[spoiler: Mamoru]]. Later on, Hotaru shows her canon healing powers as well.

** [[spoiler: The moon's surface. The airless and low-heat atmosphere helped preserve all the dead bodies of the destroyed moon kingdom, including Princess and Queen Serenity.]]

** The Youma Binah may be virtually immune to all forms of magic, but she's hardly a front-line fighter and poor in physical combat, on account of how Akane lays down the smackdown on her.
** Ryu Kumon had mastered the Yamasenken perfectly - [[CripplingOverspecialization but that helps him little as he'd neglected all other aspects of martial arts]]. Genma scolds him for being a one-trick pony, before beating him up. Kumon has no answer to a fully trained martial artist who can avoid the one technique he has mastered.

** Tellu of the Witches 5 barely puts up a struggle. Her plants are neutralised by Ceres's GreenThumb, her ManEatingPlant is burned by Mars's flames, and her poison [[NoSell does absolutely bupkis]] against Ceres's immunity.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: What Ranma considers his Flying Dragon Uppercut to be, especially when augmented with external heat and cold sources. [[spoiler: When he finally uses it with Mars and Mercury's help against Saffron, the resulting tornado is powerful enough to obliterate an entire mountaintop.]]

* DaylightHorror: Many of the attacks, especially Nephrite’s.

** DeconstructorFleet: The whole ''intent'' of this story seems to be to thoroughly deconstruct a lot of aspects of a FukuFic, not to mention the source material.

* DefectorFromDecadence: [[spoiler: With Saffron gaining some serious OmnicidalManiac tendencies during his latest rebirth and making noise about attacking the rest of the 'land-dweller' to assert their power, some of the more level-headed members of the Phoenix tribe decided to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere desert]].]]

** Akane is still an important member of the team, but she isn’t one of the main protagonists.

* {{Determinator}}: First it’s played with when Ranma has to Determinate his way through ‘‘studying’’ to get into high school, with Ami’s help as his tutor. Then more seriously when [[spoiler: Nephrite sticks a Youma in him, which mixes with his Neko-ken to form an independent cat demon that he weakens, despite having most of his ki yanked out of him]].
** Also, the girls [[spoiler: go through Cologne’s training, which has Usagi throwing up multiple times, but sticking with it]].

* DramaPreservingHandicap[=/=]GodzillaThreshold: Setsuna. She admits that she's very, ''very'' powerful - enough so that she manages to impress anyone who witnesses her fight (not to mention she's the Senshi of Time and can see the future), but limits her involvement specifically because of it to extreme emergencies. This is due to her power being so great, her open intervention in a conflict would mean the enemy would overreact and pull out all the stops, ''heavily'' escalating the war. Think of it as similar to the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union; with Setsuna in place of nuclear weapons.

* DreamLand: The realm of dreams our heroes enter in order to [[spoiler: save the other Senshi and defeat Nehellenia]] is working on a set of rules very distinct to reality. Outside of people's dreams, bizarro architecture seems to be the standard. Also, someone becoming aware where they are can change themselves to whatever they want... as long as they can imagine it.
* DreamWalker: Due to the Senshi, with exeption of Ami, being trapped in their nightmares due to [[spoiler: Nehellenia]], this is the only way to get them out. Needless to say that the DreamLand is an especially bizarre place.
* DudeLooksLikeALady[=/=]GenderBender: Zoicite was male in the original timeline, but Pluto’s reset turned him female. She’s not sure why, but notes that it hasn’t affected his relationship with Kunzite.

** Michiru or Haruka don't appear until Chapter 20, but Michiru’s father appears in chapter 4 (as a social worker assigned to clear up the mess of issues in Nerima that finally boiled over) and both of them are mentioned.

* {{Filler}}: Mostly averted. Every encounter is in some way plot relevant, and there are no random monster attacks; they’re all planned out well ahead of time by the baddies.

Because of this, they had actually outlawed the Kisses of Death and Marriage, and Xian Pu got in ''big'' trouble for giving one to Ranma]].

* LazyBum: Genma is worse than Usagi ever was, and she’s gotten better. He later gets better as well.

* LiesToChildren: Sailor Pluto and the Advisors, simply because telling them the truth won’t help, and might actually hurt. They try to be truthful where they safely can, though. [[spoiler: It's a great relief when they can finally tell the truth.]]
* LightningBruiser: Ranma, compared to other humans and most Youma, even if he can’t kill them. Apparently, he gets it from the surprisingly agile Genma.

* MusclesAreMeaningless: Akane isn’t built much differently from the others, but she’s ''really'' strong.

* NoPeriodsPeriod: Ranma’s first, especially since s/he didn’t know the birds and the bees, scared the crud out of him. Later on they also have to take Ami's periods into account during their "activities".

* OrcusOnHisThrone: Her throne. Beryl doesn’t do much herself, but her generals are generally more involved. Later subverted when [[spoiler: she oversees the capture of the Silver Crystal personally to make sure nothing will go wrong.]] She also [[spoiler: takes it upon herself to lead the charge into Elysion]].
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Akane can’t really compare to the Senshi in battle. On the other hand, she's far stronger than them outside of their powers, not to mention more skilled in purely martial arts based combat.
* PantyShot: At the jewelry store Ranma thinks that Sailor Moon has flashed him about a dozen times during the fight. The other Senshi later complain about this to Pluto, who comments that it’s the fault of a "pervert, hardcore lesbian".
* ParentalAbandonment: Not as much as in the originals. Akane and Rei still suffer this, but Ami’s parents are still married and Nodoka regrets doing this to Ranma and is trying to mend her bridges. It's more complicated with Haruka and Michiru, although they're adults already.

* PersonOfMassDestruction: Given enough prep time, any of the generals or Beryl could be this, Pluto says when telling the senshi to take his ‘burn down the city’ threat seriously.

* PromotionToParent: This happened to Akane’s sister Kasumi after their mother died and their father broke down, and she’s only barely avoiding a breakdown herself.
* PsychosomaticSuperpowerOutage: Mamoru can’t access his Endymion form until he finds a reason/want to fight, Cologne says.

* RetGone: Pluto [[spoiler: doesn’t intend to let Crystal Tokyo occur this time, meaning that the Black Moon Family will suffer this.]]

** Chapter 17 - 22 "The Silver Crystal": [[spoiler: The hunt for the Rainbow Crystals, and in the end, the Silver Crystal, begins. In the end, a big confrontation with the Dark Kingdom reveals not only the Moon Princess but also a surprise.]]
** Chapter 23 - 25 "Interlude": [[spoiler: Everyone recovers while the Dark Kingdom licks its wounds. However, new threats already loom when after various trouble, the Death Busters make their first move.]]

** It's noted that this is a problem in Japanese culture - [[ItCantBeHelped people are expected to bottle it up and do their jobs, no matter how unhealthy this makes them]].
* TokyoIsTheCenterOfTheUniverse: Averted by Jadeite when he realizes that it's easy to keep the Senshi from interfering with his collection of human energy by doing it in another city. Since they're teenagers, they can't really get to Moscow in a heartbeat, and even if they could, they don't have the intelligence network in place to know that they have to ''go'' to Moscow.

* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Makoto. Akane ''tries'' to the point of asking Makoto for lessons, but doesn’t have much success.

* TrainingFromHell: The Senshi certainly think that what they're being put through by Khu-Lon is this. Played straight with Ranma, though, even after the trip. Happosai's treatment of Soun and Genma takes this up to eleven.

** Further subverted by the fact that yes, the girls ''are'' butt-naked for a few seconds, as their belongings (clothes, jewelry...) need to be stored away for the transformation to work. The girls of course are embarrassed about it and Luna suggests finding private spots for transforming.

* TraumaCongaLine: Poor Akane. [[spoiler: First her mother dies, then she gets harassed by Kuno until she snaps after her father lets slip that he wanted a male heir. She transfers schools and rooms with Usagi to get away from the memories in Nerima, only to get caught in a youma attack and nearly drained. They let her in on the secret, but she has to deal with the fact that she’s useless against youma. Then, to top it all off, the nice older man she befriended turns out to be a Dark Kingdom general in disguise.]]

* WeakButSkilled: Akane doesn’t have anywhere close to a senshi’s firepower and sucks against Youma, but in civilian form she can beat any or all of the Senshi in hand-to-hand (except for Pluto, who is master-level).

* GreenThumb: [[spoiler: Naru gets this when transformed into Sailor Ceres]].

* HostageForMacguffin: After hearing that Khu-Lon would destroy the map to Jusenkyo if they go after it, the Phoenix tribe take Xian-Pu hostage and call her bluff. Unfortunately for Khu-Lon, [[ImpaledPalm a gunshot through Xian-Pu's hand]] proves they are serious.

In this, she starts training at another dojo and even provides some mundane power to the Senshi. One of the few times she is kidnapped, it's not by "Random Jerk of the Week," it's by crazy people with guns, and everyone is very understanding of why and how it happened.

** Ryoga, but this version of him has deserved it all, so far.
** Konatsu. Sweet mercy, Konatsu.

** The reason that they're a lot further along in the energy harvesting than they were in canon is that Jadeite is smart enough to drain people no one will miss thousands of miles away from Tokyo.
