* CrimeOfPassion: Just like in canon, Mondo snaps and reacts violently when Chihiro reveals her secret, but Leon's words from earlier cause Mondo to avoid dealing a fatal blow onto Chihiro and only put her into a coma. This incident serves as a wake-up call for Mondo to keep his anger under control.

* LateArrivalSpoiler: Despite being an alternative retelling of the first game, the author assumes you're already familiar with the original story. As such, the fic doesn't bother to hide secrets like Chihiro's gender, Celeste's real name, Mukuro disguising herself as her sister, Junko being the mastermind, etc. However, the story does spoils two major plot points from LightNovel/DanganRonpaZero: .

This or these examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Mukuro holds the title of Ultimate Soldier because she has never received a wound in combat, but that also means she has low pain tolerance. So, when her hand gets impaled by Monokuma's trap it hurts, a lot.
** Kyoko, Mondo and Taka all have talents and hobbies that allow them to be used to being awake all night. ovableJockeon and Makoto aren't used to night-activities, both of them end up sleep-deprived.
** In a more serious example, all of the attempted murderers aren't easily forgiven by most of the students, with the incident in question being an OnceDoneNeverForgotten moment for them.

* Transgender: Chihiro identifies herself as a female despite being biologically male, unlike in the game where Chihiro explicitly identified himself as male. Interesting enough, the fic averts the TransEqualsGay trope as Chihiro explicitly mentions that she/he is sexually attracted to girls.
