In the final battle, Ichigo and Aizen strike fatal blows against each other at the same time. The Hogyoku reacts by sending them both [[TimeTravel back three months]] to the point in time when Aizen first picked up the stone right after he betrayed Soul Society. On one hand, Ichigo has the chance to kill Aizen properly and [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong undo damage and deaths caused the first time around]]. Unfortunately, the enemy too is well-aware of what has (and will) happen as well as who they should attack if they want to hurt Ichigo in the worst way.

* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: [[spoiler: "Consorting with a declared threat to the peace! Offering to free a dangerous criminal! Releasing hundreds of Menos Grande into Soul Society! Merging with a second zanpakuto!"]]
