The second player's username, to fit the fan website Website/BZPower where these [=RPGs=] were hosted, is always a cheesy pun referencing the Toa Mata from ''Toys/{{BIONICLE}}'': [=TahuIsHot555, KopakaIsCool555, PohatuRocks555, and IReallyDigOnua555=].

** In ''At War's End'', Atton Rand spells Flatfoot Thompson as Flatfoot Thomsen, Fort Legoredo as Fort Legorado, and Silencia Venomosa as Silencia Venemosa. These are corrected in the Director's Cut.

* SuperWeight:
** Type -1: Mary Rose and Kate Bishop. As children, they can barely do anything on their own and always require a MamaBear or PapaWolf to protect them.
** Type 0: Non-combat members of Dino Attack Team, such as Noomi Shaw, who stay out of the action and find more mundane (yet necessary) ways of contributing to the cause.
** Type 1: The majority of Dino Attack Team, comprised largely of BadassNormal people who are expected to have it in them to pick up a gun and fight mutant dinosaurs.
** Type 2: Zachary Virchaus, Dr. Cyborg, and Pterisa. Zachary and Pterisa each have a [[SinglePowerSuperheroes single]] Maelstrom-derived power (CastingAShadow and ShockAndAwe, respectively), while Dr. Cyborg's cybernetic enhancements give him additional abilities.
** Type 3: General and Fogel. They are both cyborgs with greatly enhanced physical prowess (speed, strength, endurance, etc.), wings, and NighInvulnerability.
** Type 4: Dr. Rex during the final battle, [[spoiler:after being possessed by the Maelstrom and turned into an unstoppable monster that, in the end, could only be defeated by Imagination]].
** Type 6: Imagination and the Maelstrom ([[spoiler:and therefore, the Darkitect]]), two fundamental forces of the universe with the power to create or destroy entire worlds.

* ScaryAnimalTitle: Dino might be extinct, but it's still a scary animal.

* StrawLoser: The "[[Franchise/MetalGear Solid Snake]]" Snake, who was introduced for no purpose other than to be beaten up to make the "[[Film/EscapeFromNewYork Snake Plissken]]" Snake look better in comparison.

** Atton Rand created an {{expy}} of [[Franchise/MetalGear Solid Snake]] solely so he could write an indepth description of Snake's beating him up out of vengeance for trying steal credit from him. This was a TakeThat on two fronts, first towards the many players who mistook Snake for an expy of Solid Snake, and second toward Solid Snake himself for being what Atton Rand mistakenly believed to be "shameless knock-off" of [[Film/EscapeFromNewYork Snake Plissken]] (who inspired Snake).[[note]]What Atton Rand did not realize was that Solid Snake was actually a loving tribute, not a shameless knock-off, and Creator/JohnCarpenter gave ''Metal Gear'' his blessing, meaning his Take That to ''Metal Gear'' was unnecessary and mean-spirited.[[/note]]

** Plastic Serpent is probably the worst case of the lot. The negative portrayals of Agents and Power Miners were largely the result of NostalgiaFilter and players growing up on their spiritual predecessors, but it was at least made clear that this may simply be the viewpoint of many of the characters and not absolute fact; additionally, Agents and Power Miners were progressively depicted in a better light over the course of the RPG, thanks to characters like Osprey and Semick. Plastic Serpent, meanwhile was a completely unnecessary allegory to emphasize a claim that later turned out to be entirely false [[note]]Atton Rand was trying to get back at players mistaking Snake for an {{Expy}} of [[Franchise/MetalGear Solid Snake]] rather than the [[Film/EscapeFromNewYork Snake Plissken]], and obtaining some very flimsy "evidence" concluded that Solid Snake was a rip-off of Snake Plissken. He then proceeded to write a bunch of posts in which "Snake Plissken" beat up "Solid Snake" to emphasize his opinion that Snake Plissken was better, and ignored his fellow players' attempts to suggest alternative theories towards the characters' similarities.[[/note]]. Admittedly it's made all the worse by the fact that he tried to change Solid Snake from a government-hired badass mercenary into a low-life criminal scumbag who ended up being unintentionally sympathetic while the "better" Snake came off as a complete {{Jerkass}} at best [[note]]Yes, the original Snake Plissken was kinda a jerk, but it worked in the context of his movie because it was the kind of attitude necessary to survive in his world, and between the authoritarian police chief and the "Duke of New York" he looks pretty nice in comparison[[/note]].

** Finally, during the FinalBattle, Rex and Amanda - having overcome the SecondActBreakUp and ThirdActMisunderstanding - have a WartimeWedding, neatly wrapping up their RomanceArc.
** After much WillTheyOrWontThey, Hertz and Naomi Carver finally get together.
** It's also heavily implied that Peter Abody and Shannon Grimton also get together after the events of the war.

* WelcomeToTheCaribbeanMon: Pirates Forbidden Island and Eldorado Fortress.

* ShoutOutThemeNaming: Many of Atton Rand's characters were inspired by characters from other works. Their names are often a combination of the first name of the actor who played the character and the last name of the person. For example:
