In 1997, WesternAnimation/TheDisneyAfternoon was running its last leg and dropped the branding, and Creator/{{Disney}} had bought out ABC two years prior and revised their Saturday morning line-up (notably dropping ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Reboot}}'' in the process). Peter Hastings, a former writer of ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/PinkyAndTheBrain'', had just fled to them from Creator/WarnerBros out of his frustration with the ExecutiveMeddling happening to the latter cartoon, so he was put in charge of coming up with a new Saturday morning block for ABC. The idea he came up with (as seen in the block's intro sequence) was that the weekdays are represented as buildings, and the building for Saturday is a special one, where it is like "five hours of summer once a week", according to the theme song.[[note]]Ironically, most of the cartoons created for the block would tend to take place at school, due to an FCC regulation calling for more educational programming for children and most TV writers thinking this meant "let's make animated kids-in-school sitcoms".[[/note]] It was called Disney's One Saturday Morning (the "one" being the building's address number). This also marked the first time children's programming that ABC had an overall theme since the 1970s (with the "Funshine Saturday" brand).[[note]]Otherwise, the block mainly had the famous claymation bumpers used from 1988 to 1993, when they were replaced with bumpers themed after one of the series airing (the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons had ''WesternAnimation/BumpInTheNight'', while the 1995-96 season had ''Literature/WhatAMess''); the 1996-97 season, which served as the transitional period, had bumpers with the toy soldiers from ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory1'' and also marked the arrival of several Disney-sourced programs, including ''Doug'' (see below) and ''WesternAnimation/MightyDucksTheAnimatedSeries''.[[/note]]

** At least for ABC Kids, the final fourth hour of the block that aired at noon was mostly devoted to non E/I fare, so many ABC affiliates thought it was worthless (as they only really needed the first three hours to fulfill their weekly E/I requirements) and usually pre-empted it for sports or whatever else. This happened in a lot of the major cities/markets, so a good amount of first-run series that ran at this time throughout the years didn't get such great ratings. Perhaps the biggest example of this being {{WesternAnimation/WITCH}}.

The block eventually got the axe in Fall 2011 when Disney decided to move its kids' shows exclusively to its then-numerous cable networks, and was replaced with a block of E/I programs called [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litton%27s_Weekend_Adventure Litton's Weekend Adventure]], run by Litton Entertainment instead of Disney. Most of the Litton shows are of the animal show variety, or have a NoBudget feel, though thankfully the infamous "Litton look" of their earlier cheaper efforts is gone; Litton also began to control CBS's Saturday morning block at the start of the 2013-14 season, and in the Fall 2014 season, they took over The CW's block (ironically under the name One Magnificent Morning). One Too, meanwhile, lasted until the end of the 2002-03 season, but due to the name change for the Saturday block, the One Too brand was dropped and the block was unbranded (though Disney's website called it Disney's Animation Weekdays).
Meanwhile, most of the shows featured on the block went into syndicated reruns on the Creator/DisneyChannel and Creator/ToonDisney, until the latter channel having since been replaced with Creator/DisneyXD. ''WesternAnimation/SabrinaTheAnimatedSeries'' was also rerun on [=DiC=]/Cookie Jar's CBS Saturday morning blocks from 2007 until early 2011. ''WesternAnimation/OneHundredAndOneDalmatiansTheSeries'' was reran on Disney Channel, but at 4:00 AM (as part of Disney Junior (a highly strange decision, as it's not a preschool show at all) for a short time in early 2011). ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'' was rerun on Creator/DisneyXD for a short time in October 2011. Many of the One Saturday Morning series [[KeepCirculatingTheTapes sadly haven't received full DVD releases yet]], but thankfully several of the shows are on Creator/DisneyPlus.

* SameContentDifferentRating: Because the TV-Y and TV-Y7 ratings are supposed to indicate that a series is made specifically for children, while a TV-G rating simply means "nothing offensive", the Creator/DisneyChannel shows that aired on the block, always rated TV-G on their original network, were given one of those other two ratings for their reruns there. ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'', ''WesternAnimation/TheBuzzOnMaggie'', ''WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewSchool'', ''WesternAnimation/TheReplacements'', and ''Series/HannahMontana'' were all re-rated TV-Y7, while the other shows got a Y.

** According to one OSM animator on Website/YouTube, ABC ''loved'' the ''Mrs. Munger's Class'' shorts and wanted to do a primetime version. But that didn't happen because of the aforementioned lawsuit.

** The ''Digimon'' seasons that ran as part of ''One Too'' can currently be found on Creator/{{Hulu}}, in their Saban/Sensation dubbed runs.

** Disney wanted nothing to do with ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', but their buyout of Fox Family (renamed to Creator/ABCFamily), Creator/SabanEntertainment and Creator/FoxKids made them contractually obligated to dub it. Hence, they primarily shoved it off onto UPN's "Disney's One Too" block (which at this point had no real name; the Disney website called it ''Disney's Animation Weekdays''), which was in its' final season, and credited themselves as "Sensation Animation"; ABC Family itself actually gave ''Digimon'' more promotion.
** Given how it was composed of cartoons from [[Creator/WarnerBros Disney's greatest rival]], ''[[WesternAnimation/TheBugsBunnyRoadRunnerShow The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show]]'' was screwed from the get-go; it was basically squeezed in awkwardly after the main segment of the block (with the hosting segments) ended and before ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' and ''Science Court''/''Squigglevision'', with generic bumpers (that referred to neither Disney or One Saturday Morning itself), ''Schoolhouse Rock'' being squeezed in after it, and it had no promotion. The only reason it was there was because ABC still had to honor their contract with WB, and once that ran out in 2000 the show unceremoniously ended.

** Conversely, ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Fillmore}}'', and ''WesternAnimation/TeamoSupremo'', which were rated TV-Y on One Saturday Morning/ABC Kids, were re-rated TV-G for their reruns on Disney Channel (though Creator/ToonDisney kept the original TV-Y rating for ''its'' airings of those shows). Most of the shows that aired new episodes on the block have since been re-rated TV-Y7 on Disney+.
