Once he ditches the clown guise, he still speaks in a somewhat over-the-top fashion (though the blu-ray redub tones this down somewhat).

* TheSmartGuy: Becomes a secondary one for the Team Urameshi.
* TheStoic: He is extremely impassive and rarely panics or shows emotion other than mild amusement. Kurama ultimately defeats him by proving he is NotSoStoic and making him laugh at the worst possible moment, but [[spoiler: even afterwards he's the least affected of the human characters by the extraordinary or horrible things around them -- in fact, when Kurama is forced to kill Amanuma, unlike everyone else -- who are clearly bothered -- the only reaction we see from Kaito is the shine from his glasses as he looks on as stony as ever. Only ''Hiei'' remained so cool in the same scene.]]

Rinku is a young demon who uses yo-yos to attack. Rinku is childish and playful, and often annoys those around him. He controls his yo-yos by channeling his aura through the strings. During the fight for control of the Makai, Rinku is one of the demons that Kurama trains to fight for Yomi, though they eventually all disband to fight individually in the Makai tournament. At the end of the manga, he becomes stricken with Sasuga, a female demon who defeated him in the Makai Tournament, and it is hinted that they are in a relationship together.

* LikesOlderWomen: Though its hard to tell his age, he did have a crush on a taller and teenage looking demon.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Zig-zagged, it seemed Zeru, the proxy leader was the real threat, however the only reason Chu wasn't in the roster initially is that he lost at RockPaperScissors. He proves his strength soon enough.

* WildCard: He appears without any foreshadowing, and gives Yusuke who had [[TookALevelInBadass taken training]] what was intended to be a CurbStompBattle and change it into an equal fight. Even their sponsor lampshades it.

Shishiwakamaru is a tiny imp demon who can transform into a full human appearance. He is a swordsman who seeks to make himself famous. Suzuki gives him the Sword of Trials, a sword hilt that changes into whatever weapon suits the wielder. For Shishi it becomes the Banshee Shriek, a sword which channels the souls of the dead and materializes them to devour his opponent. During the fight for control of the Makai, Shishi is one of the demons that Kurama trains to fight for Yomi, though they eventually all disband to fight individually in the Makai tournament.

* TookALevelInBadass: With some training from Kuarama, he becomes an S class thus far Genkai who defeated him in a curbstomp battle.

* BoisterousWeakling: Summed up by Genkai that, while he did have plenty of tricks that helped him win fights, [[spoiler:it was all a smokescreen to hide the fact that he had jack in terms of genuine strength or firepower. She punctuated the fact by beating the crap out of him.]]

* GadgeteerGenius: Suzuki's primary skill is his ability to research, and invent gadgets, potions, and spells to enhance the abilities for his clients. All of Team Uraotogi's tricks and gimmicks were developed by him, and gift items originally meant for Shishiwakamaru and Uraurashima down to Kuwabara and Kurama to help them compete against Team Toguro.
* InsistentTerminology: Suzuka demands to be addressed as "the beautiful," and throws a razor playing card at one of the commentators, decapitating an audience member behind her, when she fails to call him that. Also blasts a portion of the stadium that mocked him for not using this. He still insists on this, even after his HeelFaceTurn.

* TookALevelInKindness: Unlike Shishiwakamaru, who switched to the side of good while maintaining his prima donna attitude, Suzuka seems to be a lot more dedicated to Team Urameshi's cause following his defeat. He starts out by giving Kuwabara and Kurama vital devices to help hone their energy [[EnemyMine for the fight against Team Toguro]], and then is quick to express his support for Yusuke alongside Rinku, Chu, Jin, and Toya when Kurama asks how they feel about Urameshi facing off against Yomi (their boss). He even goes so far as to enthusiastically override Shishiwakamaru's vote of indifference on the matter, forcing the latter to side with Yusuke like the rest of them.
* TheTrickster: He's actually ''very'' powerful and tricky. He just has no Godamn idea how to properly use that power...
* TrueCompanions: Appears to have this feeling with [[spoiler: Shishiwakamaru, showing genuine fright when he thinks the latter was killed after getting swallowed whole in the preliminary round for the final tournament. The sight literally causes him to freeze up onscreen]].
* VillainousHarlequin: [[spoiler: Suzuka, who would be a MonsterClown if he wasn't such a source of comic relief. At least until his HeelFaceTurn.]]

Therefore, she openly expressed to Yusuke that she doesn't have enough trust in him to fully step-in to solve his problems]].

Raizen's pack of friends who would meet up together for brawls through centuries. These friends lives as [[TheHermit hermits]] and secluded themselves away from the politics of demonic society. The pack came out to pay their respects upon hearing of Raizen's death, and agreed to partake in Yusuke's proposal of The Makai Tornament to elect a new ruler for the demon realm. This pack is rumored to have potential of surpassing both Mukuro and Yomi of the Three Kings in demonic strength.

* GetOut: Says as much to Yusuke after [[spoiler: his brief fight with Raizen's guards, sensing the slight bloodlust to occurs during it, fearful of his potential to become a demon. After she explains this, Yusuke doesn't object, though this does give him the idea to travel to Demon World for the answers he seeks.]]
