* NuclearNasty: The underground nuclear testing that injured Tigris leaks into his lake, turning him into a kaiju and driving him into permanent madness. [[spoiler:However, it's also slowly killing him.]]

* TurtlePower: The shell and the Film/{{Gamera}}-like facial features suggest this.

* ScrewTheRulesIAmDoingWhatsRight: When faced with the decision to let Alchemy Stars commit genocide on an alien planet or transform into Ultraman Gaia to stop them despite being the defender of humanity and Earth. He eventually decides to do the latter due to being unwilling to let humanity commit genocide on innocent kaiju and potentially other planets.
