* TheFace: She serves as a sociable hub / mascot for the lab. Of all the members on the science team, she's the closest they have to a public relations specialist.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: In the visual novel, while he did try to save Moeka's life by severing contact, he makes no effort to hide his personal disdain for her, irritatingly calling her insane for her excessive texting. In the anime, his enmity towards her is AdaptedOut for cold professionalism.

* PetTheDog: In the Beta timeline, he definitely shows he loves Kurisu by preparing a fork as a gift for her 11th birthday. The Drama [=CDs=] imply that he treats his daughter terribly because he believes that he can fix their relationship after going back in time once he figures out how to make a time machine.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: In the Kurisu route of ''My Darling's Embrace'', he attempts to mug and kill [[BelligerentSexualTension Okabe and Kurisu]], leading the former to do his best to protect the latter. This display of love winds up releasing the 'Darling, You Idiot!' bracelets on them, which only come off when the bickering couple make up and bond. Although it is ambiguous as to whether this is what happened or if the batteries simply ran out, the Cat is that Shido's attack strengthened Okabe and Kurisu's bond.

* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: Invoked. Mayuri's always a sweetheart with no mean bone in her body but [[spoiler:she will always die no matter how much effort Okabe puts into rescuing her from this fate through time looping as the Alpha worldlines he's in will always have the convergence set in place for her death. But on the other hand, she won't be able to witness the world that will be shithole in the BadFuture with the dystopia created by SERN for their selfishness.]]

** He even takes a major one in the anime version of ''Steins;Gate 0'' episode 16, when Okabe angrily insults Maho after the latter discovers that they were working on the phonewave as the time leap machine in order to save both Mayuri and Kurisu by finding the Steins;Gate worldline and Daru, fed up with his abrasive attitude, punches him in the face and tells him off for not understanding how he's not the only one with complicated problems as everyone does too.

** In ''Steins;Gate 0'' ''Vega and Altair'' route or episode 16, he immediately drops his goofiness as he punches Okabe's face in rage when the latter went too far harshly berating Maho after discovering they were [[spoiler:creating another Phonewave behind his back]] and telling him that everyone also has problems besides Okabe they have to solve and he has no right to trample over their feelings when they had already done much for him.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Her InternetJerkass attitude is massively downplayed in the anime adaptation.

* InternetJerkass: While she scoffs at John Titor's comments just like most users at @channel, she goes extra mile to insult Hououin Kyouma by replying to almost all his comments with disdain and mockery. She continues doing so even after knowing Kyouma's real identity (Okabe), but decides to slow down after Okabe and Daru recognizes her as an @channeler.

** Her moral conscience becomes a crucial point for Okabe and the others relating to time travel as she knew despite her lack of knowledge in science, she has a straight common sense upon realizing that utilizing time travel with the phonewave to tamper with the past for their personal reasons can potentially create horrific consequences for everyone as her [[spoiler:deaths caused by the convergence of the Alpha worldline]] proves it.

Kurisu realizes that at that time when Nakabachi got angry at her for pointing out his mistakes in his thesis, he was also crying in grief over two of his close friends death, she notes that Okabe and him are also NotSoDifferent as Okabe desires to rescue his childhood friend, Mayuri who means to him from death.

* SmallNameBigEgo: He loves to give himself cool-sounding epithets like the Duke of Darkness and often boasts about how he is the greatest badass in all of the world, but shows himself to be little more than a thuggish crook. In the Faris route of ''My Darling's Embrace'', he actually manages to become a big name as a CorruptCorporateExecutive and trying to take over the entertainment industry, but winds up becoming [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating widely hated]] rather than widely loved.

* LivingEmotionalCrutch: In the world line of Steins:Gate 0, Luka is troubled with feelings of worthlessness at being LockedOutOfTheLoop in regards to the secret(involvement/knowledge of time-travel) that the lab members seem to be keeping, but in response to voicing this frustration, Suzuha bluntly states that Luka has unknowingly become this trope to Okabe for being the only person he has managed to remove from that secret .

* BreakTheHaughty: While he's a genuinely good person whose mad scientist nonsense he invokes are explainable as he used it for Mayuri to help [[spoiler: snapped out of her grief over her grandmother's death.]] Okabe subconsciously turned it into his inflated ego over the years which bites him in his ass after he creates a small time machine from a phonewave with his labmemes together and plans to disclose it to the whole world. [[spoiler:SERN tracked them down in their apartment by hiring Rounders to do so, one of them, Moeka pretended to be one of Okabe's lab members as a mole and has them under the organization as their hostages with the exception of Mayuri whom she murders her in cold blood. Okabe escapes from their grasp and uses the time leap function of the machine to attempt to rescue Mayuri from her countless deaths which can't be averted since he's in the Alpha worldline. He finally learns from his mistakes as Suzuha reveals herself as John Titor points out the main cause of Mayuri's deaths and decided to undo all of the D-mails that he caused to save Mayuri but having also to sacrifice Kurisu's life as well which however can be averted thanks to his future self's WorldOfCardboardSpeech.]]

* HateSink: He's a detestable bastard who thinks he's better than everyone and abuses his daughter just because he's jealous of her intelligence, and is revealed to be the one who brainwashes her into becoming a proud SERN scientist. He basically represents everything wrong with SERN as an organization. Furthermore, because the main BigBad FB/Yuugo is an AffablyEvil TragicVillain, Nakabachi gives the audience someone to hate.

* NiceGirl: She's happy, friendly, supportive and social in contrast to {{tsundere}} Kurisu or emotionally bottled Moeka.

He appears as a supporting character and namesake of the upcoming ''[[VisualNovel/RoboticsNotes Robotics;Notes DaSH]]'' visual novel.

* ConspiracyTheorist: He believes that there is a mysterious "Organization" that rules over humanity from the shadows, and that he is one of the few fighting against it. Luka is Mayuri's classmate, an extremely feminine looking boy who works at his family's shrine. He seems to worship Okabe, who believes they have a master/disciple relationship. He's very shy and soft spoken and before the story began was too nervous to ask to join the group, so he becomes the sixth member to join after Moeka and Kurisu have already joined. Like Moeka, he's allowed to send a message back to the past because he hopes he can use time travel to make himself be born as a girl. [[ArtisticLicenceBiology Somehow]].
