The entity who led to the birth of vampires across the world, a demon of indestructible properties and a tyrant in ancient times, Varelos led many great crusades against the inhabitants of the old world and nearly caused the destruction of the Derevar elves until his age mellowed him down and his malevolence was replaced with a fatherly desire to protect the vampires he had birthed.

* DealWithTheDevil: Made a deal with Zran Kar to learn forbidden knowledge over fleshweaving, which led him to be transformed into a vampire.
* DistractedByTheSexy: During War of Vampires, when he defended the halls of Castle Nightshade from the protagonists, him and Golem were both distracted as Aurora, Dragostea and Khadya essentially did a strip tease show in front of them.
* TheDreaded: Most vampires keep away from Nosfer due to his malignant behaviour. Considering his actions and torturing of his prisoners, they have a good reason to.
--> Golem: "One thing Golem noticed was werewolf man in nearby cage. Father keeps werewolf man trapped for reason Golem doesn't know. When father grabbed whip, werewolf man cowered."
* EvilGenius: Nosfer spent several decades of his life living hidden inside Klaxxa borders, learning how to use and recreate their machines. He is one of the most intelligent vampires in the Nightshade Clan, having mechanized Castle Nightshade to a great extent.
* EvilLaugh: Lets out a prolonged, quiet and sinister laugh on occasion, which other vampires find creepy.
* TheIgor: Count von Dalverat is Dracula, and he's his Igor.
* Jerkass: He created a FleshGolem servant who treats him as if he was his father and one true master... and he mistreats it daily.
* MadScientist: He has his own laboratory which he uses to create creatures like Sarigandacs and Gargoyles.
* MonsterLord: He is the creator of the Sarigandac gremlins who guard Castle Nightshade.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Unlike most Ordnung, Nosfer displays no racist tendencies, likely something he developed over thousands of years of working around a myriad of different vampiric creatures.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: As an Ordnung, he is a vampire kobold.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Around 4,900 years old, making him the oldest living Halfblood vampire.
* Sadist: Takes glee in torturing prisoners, as Golem witnessed when he was whipping a captured werewolf.
* SoftspokenSadist: Very sadistic, Nosfer enjoys torturing his prisoners and test subjects, especially werewolves.
* UndyingLoyalty: Despite his evil tendencies, he is entirely loyal to the Count, even if he's not evil himself. Nosfer admires Valores like a demigod, and sees serving under him as a great honour.
* WhipItGood: Nosfer uses a whip to intimidate and torture his victims and subjects. The whip has several spiky barbs on it to inflict maximum pain, though it isn't fit to be used as a proper weapon.

->Alignment: TrueNeutral

A gigantic amalgamation of body parts given life, Golem is Nosfer's "steed" and lackey. Despite his huge size and intimidating appearance, he is actually very friendly.

----

* ADogNamedDog: Or rather, a FleshGolem named Golem.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Golem is a large mess of body parts given life by dark magic, and yet he is one of the kindest entities in the whole Nightshade Clan.
* DistractedByTheSexy: During War of Vampires, when he defended the halls of Castle Nightshade from the protagonists, him and Golem were both distracted as Aurora, Dragostea and Khadya essentially did a strip tease show in front of them.
* DumbMuscle: Lacking in brain, but tremendously strong.
* FleshGolem: He was stitched out of the body parts of multiple creatures. He has the head of a goblin, the ears of an elf, the arms of a bear, the legs of an insect, the feet of a gorilla, the wings of a bat and the tail of a crocodile.
* GentleGiant: He wouldn't hurt a fly out of his own volition.
* HulkSpeak: Speaks like this.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: He's a flesh golem and a vampire all in one package. However, as he is too big and clumsy to bite necks to drink blood, he simply eats his victims whole instead.
* SuperStrength: He's the strongest character in the Nightshade Clan by far. As mentioned in his personal Tales of Champions, he managed to break a red wyvern's neck by strangling it.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Always refers to himself by his name.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Desperately wants to appease Nosfer, who he sees as his father, though the Ordnung considers him as little more than a lackey.
* WingsDoNothing: The bat wings on his back are way too small to be of any use.

The mightiest war beast of the Nightshade Clan, Dornmuunon is Nosfer's greatest creation; by combining the souls of a Light Drake and a manticore, he created a vampiric monstrosity capable of harnessing the power of the light, which most vampires are unable to use.

----

* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: When he attacked Umbral Refuge, the capital of the Derevar elves, during War of Vampires.
* BreathWeapon: A laser of pure light.
* EyeScream: During his battle against Filonan and Daithelen during the attack of Umbral Refuge, Dornmuunon had his eye pierced by Filonan's spear, temporarily blinding him.
* GiantFlyer: 40 meters long and able of flight, much to the terror of the elves he attacked during the events of War of Vampires.
* LargeAndInCharge: Dornmuunon is the leader of the Clan's manticore lackeys, and he is by far the largest character in the faction.
* LightIsNotGood: He is the only entity in the Nightshade Clan who can use light magic. And as seen during War of Vampires, he is not the nicest individual to be around.
* MixAndMatchCritters: As the fusion of a manticore and a dragon, it is to be expected.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent / OurManticoresAreSpinier: He is half-dragon, half-manticore, though he superficially resembles the latter more than the former.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: He is vampiric, despite his Light Drake heritage. As a light magic entity, he is immune to sunlight and light-based attacks, but in contrast takes increased damage from dark magic, the opposite of all other vampires.
* PantheraAwesome: His overall appearance is that of a gigantic white lion with dragon scales.
* Retcon: Dornmuunon was previously supposed to be the only living manticore of Koldenwelt. However, his creator scrapped his plans and instead allowed him to be reworked into a character of the Nightshade Clan.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: After having one of his fangs broken and being heavily wounded by the Sovereign army's dark magic arrows in the attack of Umbral Refuge, Dornmuunon decided to retreat for finding the situation too humiliating.
* WhiteMagic: Notably, one of the only vampires capable of using light magic.

-->"Ah, poor Tibias Merrow. Once a mere skeleton servant of a necromancer. But his master was slain by paladins, and he was alone! But the whispers of Vargash reached his ear sockets, and then, he grew up to be a real man... bone."

Master Apostle of the Cult of the Eclipse and mortal champion of Vargash, Tibias Merrow is an undead skeleton of weird mannerisms but an absolutely psychotic mindset. Wishing nothing more than the complete domination of Koldenwelt, he has menaced the land for hundreds of years. Naturally a monstrous being, his nature as an undead - who are naturally incompatible with Vargash's magic - forces him to assume a 'normal' form when out of combat.

----

* ArchEnemy: Of Norrigan Sunseeker. The feeling is mutual.
* ArcVillain: Of One Thousand Horns.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: During his everyday activities, such as causing mayhem and corrupting unwitting masses, he maintains a light-hearted and somewhat goofy disposition. However, when he decides to show his actual power, only a few can say they have survived to tell the tale.
* BigBadEnsemble: The second main antagonist of Doctrina Venefica, the first being Osvernal Eilenneim.
* BlackMagic: One of the mightiest users of abyssal magic, which is common dark magic tainted by the power of Ramainaualmari.
* BodyHorror: Assuming his true form reveals his bones are unnaturally long, while tentacles of bone marrow grow out of his spine in the vague form of wings. One tentacle in particular grows from within his skull, forcing itself out of his right eye socket.
* DemBones: He's a human skeleton animated by necromancy.
* DragonRider: He rides on the back of Vilokrath, who's a Pus Dragon.
* DualWielding: In his true state, his favored weapons are a pair of BFSs he swings about with wild abandon.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Started out as a simple farmer who was killed and reanimated by a necromancer to be a mere serf in his tower. However, when his master died, he wandered off and was eventually influenced by Vargash's whispers, leading the animated skeleton to gain a mind of its own and join the Cult of the Eclipse. Some years later, he became the leader of the religion of Vargash altogether.
* GlowingEyelightsOfUndeath: Has a pair of red lights as eyes.
* LosingYourHead: As a skeleton, removing his skull from his neck doesn't particularly bother him, though his body becomes blind and distressed as a result. During The Goldhawk Chronicles, he suffered from this after being struck across the face by Jalaric Hathgar, which sent his head flying off.
* LovecraftianSuperpower: You might be interested in how a skeleton can have this kind of thing. The answer? Bone marrow tentacles.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He was the true master of Delmar Crowfeather during the events of Doctrina Venefica, using him to make a way for a future invasion on the elven capital of Purity's Apogee.
* OneWingedAngel: An interesting case. The mighty monstrous form he takes during combat is his true appearance, not a transformation. However, he is forced into a weakened state in order to conserve his energies, due to Vargash's abyssal magic not working well with the undead, which is the form he is most often seen assuming.
* PunnyName: He's a skeleton. Tibia is the name of the human shinbone. It also looks like his surname is "marrow", as in bone marrow, though a quick look will reveal it's actually written with an "e", which he apparently did intentionally to mess with people. Lampshaded by Xacutus during Darkest Before Dawn.
-->Xacutus: What kind of NAME is that?! Should it not be MARROW?
-->Tibias: No. Merrow. With an E.
-->Xacutus: But you are NOT a mermaid.
* RedBaron: The Demon of Visonia.
* SorcerousOverlord: A fearsome dark sorcerer and one of the contenders of main antagonist of the setting.
* WouldHurtAChild: Would also try and corrupt a child with dark magic, as Khadya nearly suffered during The Goldhawk Chronicles.
* YourSoulIsMine: He can suck the souls out of those in his close proximity. He has been seen using this as a way to fuel the use of his true state.

Unlike the rest of his people, he chose not not possess a corpse to interact with this new world, and instead possessed his own flame-powered suit of armor, turning the general into a juggernaut of flames who craves for nothing but the conquest of this new world.

----

* AnimatedArmor: Upon becoming an undead spirit, he possessed his own suit of armor, causing it to become animated by nothing but flames, smoke and steam.
* BlueBlood: He was a nobleman in life, which is where his prideful disposition stems from.
* DecoyLeader: While his title is of king, the hierarchy of the Outworld doesn't work like you'd expect; an Outworld "king" is akin to a military general rather than the ruler of their people. It serves as a good way to hide Lich Lord Praetinnath's existence.
* Expy: Of Wraith King in his first incarnations, though not so much after a number of retcons.
* TheJuggernaut: He is a nigh unstoppable force, possessing such endurance that not even a direct hit by a ballista bolt to the torso is enough to stop him on his tracks, only slow him down.
* LargeAndInCharge: Even in life, he was noted for his giant size compared to his fellow Outworlders, which contributed to his position of general of their armies.
* PlayingWithFire: He has tremendous power over the arts of pyromancy, being shown wreathing his blade in flames, throwing fireballs from his hands and even launching fire beams from his helm's eye sockets.

King of the Web-Spinner Tribe, Assrivak was one of the Névari kings to pledge themselves to Bone-Breaker. A maniacal and highly irritable individual, he was a feared figure among the elves of the north.

----

* AnIcePerson: Evidently had some control over ice magic, as he used it to animate a massive scorpion made out of solid ice. After it was destroyed, he exclaimed he would make a new one.
* AxCrazy: He was clearly quite out there, on top of being extremely violent. Often threatened to drink the blood out of Riad's party too.
* CoDragons: Alongside the other Névari kings, to Bone-Breaker.
* FamousLastWords: "...No questions. No questions...no questions..."
* HairTriggerTemper: The party realized he was irritable just by looking at him. Just asking him questions sent him into an angry fit.

-->"Fear? We thrive because of bloodshed. I would not speak so righteously when you thrive with the sacrament of blood. We look forward to the arrival of the new age of this world. Everyone who wishes to be left behind will be done so as scattered ashes."

King of the Wolf-Howl Tribe, Maguruk was one of the Névari kings to pledge themselves to Bone-Breaker. Infected with lycanthropy, he reveled in the bloodshed which Bone-Breaker provided him.

----

* CoDragons: Alongside the other Névari kings, to Bone-Breaker. Out of them, he appeared the closest to the Bone-Shield king compared to the others.
* FamousLastWords: "My only regret...is that I did not shoot you all when I had the chance. I may have lived to have seen this world come."
* KilledOffForReal: Impaled with the Stormchaser after being weakened by Nanuk and Norrigan.
* OurWerebeastsAreDifferent: Out of the shapeshifting Névari kings, Maguruk was the only one explicitly described as a werebeast; in his case, a werewolf. However, he appeared to have full control over his transformation, and didn't require a full moon to transform.
* SlasherSmile: Sported one shortly before he assumed his werewolf form during The Storm Chaser.
* SummonMagic: He had the power to summon spectral wolves to his aid.

-->"If you wish me to let you pass without violence, perhaps you can tell the Bone-Shields to get off my lands. Maguruk, Tiritchik and Assrivak saw an opportunity in serving Bone-Breaker. I see nothing but a massacre in it."

King of the Bear-Claw Tribe, Nanuk was one of the Névari kings to pledge themselves to Bone-Breaker. In his case, however, he did so in order to spare his people of the evil king's wrath; he wants nothing to do with his atrocities.

----

* Animorphism: He had the ability to shapeshift into a massive bear.

!!Hrafn

->Species: Arakai
->Alignment: NeutralGood

-->"My deeds are my burden to bear alone."

Hrafn is an exiled Arakai warrior responsible for instigating a war between the Arakai clans at the behest of warlord Ire Lamind. Despite resigning himself to continue working as an assassin, he feels extremely guilty for his actions and seeks to use his work - even if considered to be unfit for warriors by his people - as a means to make amends. While primarily residing in the southern Koldenwelt, given the nature of his work, Hrafn is often travelling all across the world.

----

* BigCreepyCrawlies: As an Arakai, he is an elf-sized humanoid insect. His nature has disturbed some people, though he's not particularly bothered about being told he looks grotesque.
* CoolMask: He wears a mask designed to resemble Dysjofurr, Mortium's Arakai persona.
* Expy: Of Corvo Attano.
* TheExile: Exiled from Arakai lands due to his murder of clan leader Carth. It was only by Ire's intervention that he wasn't outright killed during the act.
* KnightInSourArmor: He blames himself over the deaths caused by the Arakai's wars, which have even led him to develop some suicidal thoughts. He hasn't acted on them just yet, however.
* NamedWeapons: His shortsword is named Ehdra, which roughly translates from Qoranit tongue to The Broken.
* NiceGuy: When out of the assassin element, he is a fairly nice and helpful individual. He is welcoming to other races, which is rare for an Arakai, which has led him to become involved with a number of other adventurers.
* ProfessionalKiller: He's an assassin, choosing to remain one even after the events leading to his exile.
* RedBaron: The Raven.

!Cult of the Eclipse

!!Tibias Merrow, the Master Apostle

->Species: Imperial human, unknown ethnicity
->Alignment: ChaoticEvil

!!Vilokrath, the Rotten

->Species: Pus dragon
->Alignment: NeutralEvil

-->"Your souls will drown... in the black oceans of Crystallis!"

The being titled "the Rotten" is a Pus dragon, a member of a loathsome species of dragon who are born diseased beyond imagining. Vilokrath is the mount and personal bodyguard of the Master Apostle, a task delivered to him by Vargash himself, and today he follows the orders of Tibias Merrow.

----

* BlackEyesOfEvil: As it's typical for a member of his species, Vilokrath's eyes are pitch black.
* BreathWeapon: A blast of gross and sickening pus, which rots and decomposes flesh on top of possessing an unfathomable stench.
* TheDragon: Literally and figuratively to Tibias Merrow. Vilokrath is tasked to be this to all Master Apostles.
* FeelNoPain: As a Pus dragon, his diseased body suffered so much before birth that he no longer feels any pain. When Ennea Ignaura confronted him during Doctrina Venefica, she was unsure of whether her attacks had any effect on him, as he simply didn't react to them.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Pus dragons are a species of dragon who are covered in rotting, festering wounds since birth, which leads many of them to die before hatching - but those who do are born with complete immunity to pain.
* PoisonousPerson: Pus dragons are poison magic-based dragons, and Vilokrath is no exception.
* RedBaron: The Rotten.
