* JapanesePoliteness: With her tendency of bowing politely and calling everyone "Mr." or "Miss", Cream seems distinctly more Japanese than the other characters. Especially when you consider that while most of her friends are older than her, the majority of them are still only preteens/teenagers.

** The original manual for Sonic CD has a real whopper, because it gave Amy the name of a character from [[WesternAnimation/SonicSatAM an entirely different Sonic series altogether]]; In a very odd attempt to tie-in the game to the more serious DiC Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon that was running around the time CD was initially released, Amy is inexplicably referred to as Princess Sally in the North American Sega CD manual, even though Sally has never appeared in the games [[note]]Sans a blink and you'll miss it EarlyBirdCameo in the VideoGame/SonicSpinball bonus stages[[/note]] and Amy looks and acts absolutely nothing like her. The PC manual corrected this mistake by referring to her as Amy.

* HairDecorations: Always seen wearing a hairband.

* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: She's a hedgehog, just like Sonic, Shadow, and Silver, but her spines are shorter than theirs, more closely resembling human hair. She also lacks spines on her back.

** Cream ('''Sanguine + Phlegmatic'''): She's the curious, extroverted and fun-loving member of Team Rose who has her moments of questioning Amy's ideas and sometimes proving her wrong on her decisions. She’s generally cheerful, honest and polite. She can be very sensitive and opinionated though. She’s not afraid to voice her anger and disgust either.
** Big ('''Phlegmatic'''): He's the upbeat and laid-back member of the team who enjoys laying around and fishing. He can be rather a slow thinker to the point that he can easily be regarded as an "idiot" when that's hardly the case. He’s a loyal and reliable individual who cares a lot for his friends and almost always is calm during any situation.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Looking back at her first appearance, she's almost unrecognizable, sharing Sonic's quills, having a green and brown outfit with very little pink, not displaying anger at her capture by Eggman, and of course lacking her iconic hammer (which was called a "Magical Hammer" in ''Sonic the Fighters'' instead of a "Piko Piko Hammer"). Her manga appearances have her as a straight damsel.

** Sometimes, even ''better'' than her older teammates. Amy and Big both have a few games where they're completely reliant on their hammer or fishing rod, respectively, to attack. Cream's always got the option of curling into a ball and slamming into enemies like Team Sonic always does.

Note that while Amy, Cream, and Big are the most recurrent and iconic members of the team, it has gone through several changes throughout the years:

A bit more loose as a group than the other teams, Team Rose does not appear nearly as frequently as Team Sonic or Team Dark. Amy herself tends to spend more time as Team Sonic's unofficial fourth member, while Cream and Big would rather spend their days peacefully staying at home and fishing respectively. Nevertheless, if Amy ever needs backup, Cream and Big are always ready to help out whenever their friend is in need.

* BigThinShortTrio: Big (obviously, Big), Amy (Thin), and Cream (Short).

A very young and polite rabbit and her pet Chao, Cheese. Cream made her debut after her mother [[http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080120041707/sonic/images/d/d5/Vanilla.png Vanilla]] was kidnapped by Dr. Eggman in another one of his schemes, but was ultimately rescued by Sonic. Due to her young age, she tends to stay out of the action most of the time, but can step up if the situation calls for it.

Due to her upbringing, Cream is an extremely docile and polite individual. She refers to almost every character as "Mr." or "Ms." in their name. She's also a rather timid individual, but nonetheless tries her best to help her friends out when they need it.

* InformedAttribute: According to the Sonic Generations bio for her, Cream is stated to have curiosity, and according to her Sonic Channel Japanese profile (per Google Translate), is stated to have a desire for knowledge. This isn't particularly seen in-game

* DumbMuscle: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] as Big is more of a slow thinker than actually stupid.

** Sonic cozies up to Amy's alternate self Lady Nimue in ''VideoGame/SonicAndTheBlackKnight'' astonishingly quickly, within the first thirty seconds of having met her, in fact. [[spoiler:Apparently, he agreed to go on a date with Amy, according to TheStinger]].

* SillyWalk: In at least ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure'', Amy is pigeon-toed with a short stride, which makes her the slowest running of the hedgehogs. She achieves her top speed by taking the biggest leaps possible.

* DistressedDamsel: In ''VideoGame/SonicAdvance2'', and ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog''.

* FatCat: Just look at him.

* StalkerWithACrush: In ''Sonic CD'', [[NoSenseofPersonalSpace she gets a little too close for comfort around Sonic]] when she holds him in her arms at Palmtree Panic, but when Sonic arrives at the next level, Collision Chaos, he finds out Amy is ''still'' following him around despite Sonic making it very clear that he did not experience the same love for her as she did for him. ''VideoGame/SonicBattle'' and ''VideoGame/SonicHeroes'' [[ExaggeratedTrope took this unhealthy obsession to its utmost extreme, as it is the characteristic she is perhaps most known for in those games]].

* InformedAbility: It's stated quite a few times that she has chased Sonic around so much that she became fast enough to actually keep up with him. However, she's only shown keeping up with Sonic when she's using a vehicle and/or he's not running at his top speed (or at least it's not made clear that he's running at his top speed, such as in Amy's ending in SonicAdvance)

* StalkerWithACrush: What she tends to be when her {{Flanderization}} is at it's peak; otherwise, she's [[SubvertedTrope actually a rather muted example]] and only tends to run into Sonic by complete coincidence, or she's already apart of his adventures to begin with.

* LethalJokeCharacter: Amy generally has a rather unique moveset from other characters in many titles, making her harder to master, but with special abilities that can be exploited effectively. Her platforming roles such as the ''VideoGame/SonicAdvanceTrilogy'', as well as many spin off titles like ''VideoGame/SonicR'' or her PvP role in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2'' are good examples.

* TheArtifact: Amy's name [[AerithAndBob stands out]] amongst a cast where most other {{Funny Animal}}s are named things like "Sonic", "Knuckles", "Big", and "Silver". This is because her name originates from a [[Manga/SonicTheHedgehog manga]] where ''everyone'' had "normal" names like "Nicky" and "Brenda". Amy's name (which was originally [[SpellMyNameWithAnS "Eimy"]]) was kept the same even though it doesn't match the rest of the game's cast. For a while she was given the more 'Aerith' nickname of "Rosy the Rascal", but that was dropped after the Saturn era.
