Near the end of the season, there's a string of focus episodes where each pony grows to better embody her Element of Harmony, or learns that her Element isn't as simple as she thought. Except The Bird's focus episode (#21, the one with the Buffalo negotiations) involves her already knowing the answers and teaching everyone else instead. ''The Movie'' gives her some development by revealing her to be a retired Wonderbolt suffering from brain damage.
