The nephew of Asuma Sarutobi, and the grandson of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the late Third Hokage. Konohamaru was introduced early in the original series as a counterpart to Naruto; a bratty, disrespectful half-pint craving for attention. Idolizing Naruto as a BigBrotherMentor figure (referring to him as ''[[JapaneseSiblingTerminology Naruto-niichan]]'').

* {{Badass}}: It's ''Ichigo Kurosaki''. This man arrived in Naruto, stomped the entire Shinbu Corps that opposed him into the curb, and has so far managed to take on every Akatsuki member who has come his way bar Sasuke with minimal effort at all.

* [[YouRemindMeOfX You Remind Me of Naruto]]: The reason Neji (and everyone else) follows Ichigo. In a twist, he didn't say it to Ichigo, but instead to Sasuke when the Uchiha inquired as to why Neji would go so far to save someone he's barely met.

Additionally, his paths possess skills they lacked in the original manga, such as the ability to use multiple nature releases — something Jiraiya theorized but was never shown.
** BadassBoast: Like Madara, Pain is quite fond of delivering these and does so very effectively.
