* PutOnABus: She leaves for her own journey at the end of ''Advanced Generation'', and, aside from a four-part guest appearance in ''Diamond and Pearl'', she hasn't been seen outside of flashbacks or Ash reminiscing about his companions. This is even more glaring compared to Misty, Dawn, and Iris, as they've all come back, but May still has yet to reappear. [[labelnote:Explanation]]This is due to the fact that May's Japanese seiyū Kaori has been diagnosed with vocal cervical dystonia (spasmodic dysphonia) in 2012, which severely impairs her ability to speak. Due to the anime industry's reverence and respect to seiyū in general, replacing Kaori with another seiyū would be seen as disrespectful to her and thus [[RealLifeWritesThePlot May is simply relegated to non-speaking cameos until Kaori feels ready to reprise the role]].[[/labelnote]]

Added DiffLines:

* EnemiesList: Harley doesn't have a simple list: he has a photo album of people he bears grudges against. He sneaks pictures of his "enemies" and draws "nasty" symbols next to them on the album (which is what he does with May after their first interaction).

Added DiffLines:

* {{Manchild}}: Despite being much older than May, he bears a serious grudge against her simply because she had never heard about Cacturne, said it was scary (when it is indeed a creepy-looking Dark-type Pokémon), and said his cookies were not half bad. He sneaks pictures of people he doesn't like (such as May) and collects them in a notebook. Another reason he hates May is because he never let go of his childhood "trauma" of a schoolmate who looked like her eating his last Octillery-shaped "snackie".

Added DiffLines:

* MisplacedRetribution: One of the reasons Harley hates May so much is simply because she happens to look like a schoolmate who once ate Harley's last "snackie" when he was a child.
