She lives with a group of males that she binds to her will, punishing them when they displease her. Salazzle is one of the very few Pokémon to know Fire Lash, [[UselessUsefulSpell despite her stats not being suited for using it at all]], while she probably just uses her tail to execute it, [[WhipOfDominance absolutely no one has any doubts as to why she has such a move]].

This ability also makes them vulnerable to be [[SuperpowerDisability poisoned by a Toxic Orb]], which otherwise will not affect Poison types without the ability.ability.
** Its hidden ability, Oblivious, is this to a lesser extent. It keeps the Pokémon from being infatuated, falling for taunts, or being affected by Intimidate. Infatuation is a crippling debuff, but can only be caused by one single move which is rarely used as a result of being a SituationalSword (it only works on opponents of the opposite gender). Taunt prevents the target from using status moves, but Salazzle's stats are best suited for being an all-out attacker. Intimidate drops the target's Attack, which is completely irrelevant as Salazzle's physical attack is underwhelming in the first place.
** In Generation IX, it is [[SecretArt the only Pokémon to know Fire Lash]], but can't use it properly [[SquishyWizard due to its extremely underwhelming Attack]].

* InnocentSoprano: Primarina has a high-pitched voice, and like its previous evolutions, is shown to be kindhearted and optimistic. In fact, given that this trope originated in opera and is commonly found among its leading female roles, Primarina may have been given a soprano voice in part ''because'' of this archetype.

Primarina isn't a ballerina; it doesn't even have legs. Ballet dancers aren't supposed to speak or sing during performances, while Primarina is defined entirely by its ability to sing. "Primarina" is a combination of "prima donna", "marine", and "marina".

Not A Subversion. And on second thought, removing Nerf on Toxapex since most Pokemon lost Scald, listing which one lost the move will take forever and might be best to only list those that lost Knock Off.

* UselessUsefulSpell:
** Its signature ability [[SuperScream Liquid Voice]], which changes all sound-based moves to Water-type moves, is this. Unlike similar abilities such as Galvanize or Aerilate that change a move's type, Liquid Voice does not power up the changed moves. The strongest sound-based move it can learn is Hyper Voice, a normal-type move with 90 Power, while its signature move, Sparkling Aria, has the exact same power and the same effect of hitting through Substitute. While Sparkling Aria still has the downside of potentially healing a burn, Primarina will still have its regular ability [[TurnsRed Torrent]] while having the same benefit Liquid Voice provides. Even if the user decides to forego Sparkling Aria for another Water-type move such as Hydro Pump, Surf, or Scald, Liquid Voice wouldn't be of any use.
** Subverted with Aqua Jet. Being dominantly special attackers, It may seem pointless to have them learn a physical Water-Type move [[ActionInitiative despite its increased priority]]. However, their physical attack, while nothing great, is still decent, and due to their [[MightyGlacier low speed]], having a move that automatically lets them go first can be pretty helpful.
