** The team disbands at the end of Part I, and then reforms sans Sasuke over the first two arcs of Part II into a FiveManBand. Having graduated form being trainees Naruto becomes TheHero proper. Sai as a replacement Sasuke is the new {{Lancer}}. Kakashi's versatility and years of experience make him TheSmartGuy. Yamato's Woodstyle and severity fill TheBigGuy role. Sakura remains TheHeart, with a side helping of TheMedic. By the Fourth Shinobi World War arc Sai is DemotedToExtra and Yamato is PutOnABus. However Sasuke returns as a SixthRanger (out of necessity) and the Part I Team 7 is reborn with group dynamics mostly intact.
** {{Honorary True Companion}}s who stayed for an arc or two include TheStrategist Shikamaru, BoisterousBruiser Might Guy, and SoulBrotha Killer Bee. The rest of the Konoha 11, their Jonin masters, and occasionally the Sannin as mentors to Team 7 also qualify.
