However, Bowser Jr. is a lot closer to Bowser (being his son), holds him in high esteem, and is genuinely concerned for him in Story Mode. What’s more, his NeverMyFault moments are usually directed towards the heroes and he is far younger.

* BashBrothers: Sonic and Tails are inseperable and make quite a potent duo.

* PoorCommunicationKills: Peach and Amy [[spoiler:actually ''had'' Bowser and Dr. Eggman's invitations ready, but trusted two Toads to get it to them. However, the Toads lose them. When a pissed off Doctor and Bowser arrive to get their late invitations, Peach and Amy nervously and hastily re-write the invitations, but don't get them to Bowser and Eggman on time. The bad guys ''did'' however find the invitations they wrote to Sonic and Mario, and trusted that Peach and Amy would get them the invitations eventually and walk off to enjoy the sights. The Toads saw Bowser and Eggman with invitations on their hands (''Which were actually Sonic and Mario's'') as they walked away, so the girls figured they found the original invitations the Toads lost before and let the thing pass. The result? The two villains feel slighted, get ticked, and plot their revenge by unleashing the [[FogOfDoom Phantasmal Fog]] on London, endangering the games and the populace]]. Oops.

* DivideAndConquer: In ''Road To Rio'', [[spoiler:Eggman brainwashes the two Suit Boys to frame the heroes and create a divide between the two gyms. With Mario & Sonic out of the way, and the two gyms' increasing distrust of each other and sniping at each others' throats, he and Bowser can take over the Olympics.]]

* EvilIsPetty: Along with Bowser, Eggman hatches a scheme to use the Phantasmal Fog to endanger London when they beleive they were snubbed of their invitations to the London games. [[spoiler:Turns out, they weren't snubbed, Peach, Amy, along with some Toads, accidentally lost their invitations.]]
